How do I delete my account?
You can delete your account by going to the Control Panel and clicking the Delete Account link. Once you enter your password and hit Submit, your account will be deleted.
How do I create a band profile?
To create a band profile, go to the VampireFreaks main page and click the Signup button. Once there, you can click the "Create a Band Account" button up top.
How do I change the picture that appears on my comments and on my journal?
This is called an Icon, and you can change it by going to Control Panel and clicking the Edit Icons link. Once there, you can upload a photo/icon that you wish to use, and then set it as your Icon by clicking Make Default under it.
How do I upload a picture to my profile?
On desktop, you can do so by going to the navigation on the left, and selecting "Upload Pictures". On mobile, you can do so through the menu top right, or by clicking the camera icon that appears at the top of your home page beside the status textarea.
How do I make my profile look cool?
On desktop, you can go to the left navigation and click Control Panel > Edit Profile. You can add HTML/CSS. Need help working with it? You can join VF-Layouts or any number of our user generated HTML/CSS and design cults for further information.
How do I change my username?
You can do it one of two ways. One, you can delete your account and create a new one, or for 20$, you can have us change it for you, and keep your account intact in the process. For information on how to pay, inbox Jet or Submit a support ticket. Once payment has been made, please contact our support system to have your username changed. Please attach your transaction ID, the email used, as well as the new username you wish to change to. This can take a few days to occur.
How do I change my password?
You can change your password by going to the Control Panel and clicking the Change Password link. Enter your old password and a new one and hit Submit; once this is done, your password will be changed.
How do I retrieve a lost password?
If you forgot your password when trying to log in, you can click the Forgot Password link. It will ask you for your email address that you have associated with the account. Once you put this email address in and hit Submit, it will send you an email on how to reset your password. If you have any issues where you cannot get in by resetting with this email, you can contact VF Support.
Someone is a fake/stealing my pictures!
In order to delete a fake, you must provide a valid VF Salute. This is a picture or video of you holding a piece of paper, object (or the palm of your hand), with your username [AT] VAMPIREFREAKS.COM. Once we have this, we can delete the fake.

Give us their usernames AND the usernames of the accounts you believe are multiples. If it pans out, superfluous accounts will be deleted. Now, we do allow premium members to have ONE alternate account. This is the only exception to the rule.

Admin don’t often interfere with user drama, to ensure drama is kept to a minimum, we have created a block feature. Simply go to the user’s profile, and click block/report. Do not fill the fields, simply press the block button at the top of the pop-up box. If this doesn't work, you can go to Control Panel > Blocked Users > then add the user to the box labeled "block user" and hit enter.
How do I remove someone from my friends list?
To remove someone from your friends list, simply go to “My Friends” in the left side menu on Desktop (main menu on mobile). Scroll to that friend, and click the garbage can.

The vampirefreaks site is very secure. It is nearly impossible for someone to hack into your account. However, when you login to the site, you stay logged in until you log out. So, if you login to the site and then somebody else uses that computer afterwards, they will be logged in as you...
This user has inappropriate pictures!
VampireFreaks will remove images from users that display nudity (nipples/genitalia), gore, self-harm, or extreme violence. These will always be removed as they are seen.
However, our terms of service can change at any time. It has happened before that our advertisers had us crack down on images that included implied nudity, slutty pictures, close-ups of cleavage, fetish pictures, and anything that is mature / sexually provocative. If your images are reported as being too sexual then they may get deleted, depending on the period at which the request is done.
How do I block a user from contacting me?
To block a user, you have two options. You can go to their profile and click the "Block/Report" button, and then click the "Block" button that pops up. The form that pops up with it does not need to be filled out unless you feel that admin should investigate their profile. If for some reason this button is not available or you cannot access their profile, you can block them through the Control Panel by going to Blocked Users and entering their username into the textarea at the top of the page and hitting enter.
How do I unblock a user?
Simply go to the Main Menu > Control Panel > Click the Trash Can beside the User’s Image.

If one user downrated you, it is their choice. If all their friends do it, then it's time to contact admin. We cannot revert your rates, but Admin can sanction users that mass-downrate.

Contrary to popular belief, suspensions are not given lightly. Tickets regarding suspensions will be ignored.

First of all, no. Evading suspension will get your alternate accounts deleted. We do not take pleasure in suspending users, and chances are, you done goofed. Whining, aggravating Admin, creating accounts over and over will just make it worse.
How come people can't rate me?
Your ratings may have been disabled. You can enable them by going to Control Panel, then Edit Settings. Then change "Allow Users to Rate Me" to "Yes".
How do I stop people from rating me?
You can turn off your ratings bar by going to Control Panel, then Edit Settings. Then change "Allow Users to Rate Me" to "No".
People rate me and my rating doesn't change.
Your profile rating is an average of all of your ratings. If you are rated by a few hundred or a few thousand people, your rating is obviously not going to change every time somebody rates you since it is an average.
What are rating points?
Everytime somebody rates you, your rating points go up. For instance, if somebody rates you a "5", you get 5 more rating points. While the "ratings" are an average of all your ratings, the ratings points always increase everytime somebody rates you. You can also view a list of the people with the highest ratings points. People with the highest rating points are the most popular and were usually on the top 10 lists the longest.
How do I see what people rated me?
Only premium members can see what people rated them.
How come I lost ratings / rating points?
When someone is deleted, ratings they gave out are cancelled. So if someone rated you and then they got deleted, you will lose the rating you got from them.
Can I be an administrator?
The answer is no.

There is an advanced user search feature where you can search by location. It can be found on the Main Menu under Users > Search / Browse.
