Once again a well thought out and excellently delivered video that I can totally relate to.
I am dumb founded about the misconceptions about the goth subculture and how people seem to make it up as they go along and then have a go at those of us that are still an active part of the subculture. Keep on doing what you do.

Honestly I usually stay out of the debates due to the fact it's like a battle between "who worships the real god" kinda attitudes attached to it. Also I do know a bit of the different Goth histories and how they influenced Gothic music and how the sub-culture and sub-genre was born into the "Modern Goth" term. I also agree that many of the "Baby Bats" or "Mall Goths" give a bad name and need direction as many of us did when joining into any culture or movement. I mean we all have to start somewhere right?

That being said I have no negative feelings towards this video. But I would like to bring up one opinion and have you put your two cents into it so to speak as the content barely spoke of it. This opinion is that just like Punk Rock once being a sub-genre of Rock and Rock of Blues and Blues of Jazz, Goth has come to a point in which the genre has become it's own full genre and had it's Hybrids made with other genres. Such as Gothic-Industrial, which many seemed to deny when I came onto the net/culture in 2006. Their opinion is not that it (Goth) per say cannot evolve, but it can not evolve to such a form of pure genre limiting it's potential. It seemed as if they wanted to keep things stagnant to merely the 80's and somehow the only exception to the rule of what can not be Goth was Death-Rock. Though I'm not knocking the counter argument either. I mean, everything has a valid origin or it wouldn't exist right?

Anyway, I was just wondering your opinion on this matter? I'm just curious because at least when I was getting raised on the culture, it was a huge dilemma that impacted the net on some sites I used to visit and I fear effected the evolution of the culture in a negative way at that time giving raise to less informed, aggravated baby bats. Solely because they were indeed judged as posers simply for saying the culture and genre evolved. Do you understand where I am coming from?

I may be wrong, but I fear there was more to blame considering what I read during that time. Mind you I was lucky enough to debate rationally with respectable people and grow and evolve properly into the culture itself. Mind you this is also coming from a self proclaimed idiot *points at myself* haha. But anyway, please feel free to give me your opinion. Probably better via inbox message as to prevent further dramatic debates haha!
