Velvet Code
Profile: Velvet Code is electronic music's best kept secret. Unsigned and working their hears out, this of fun loving, energetic synth-rockers bring a playful blend of crisp, bright synthetic sounds to dark and distorted melodies and lyrics. During recent live shows at the Knitting Factory, The Delancey and Fearless Music TV, they packed enough energy to even tire a house full of teenagers. Produced by frontman Marlon Wurmitzer, the band includes Nick Fiore on Synth/Keytar, and Ryan Kelly on drums/percussion. The band's debut single, "Trust Fund Girl" was released in January 2008 on iTunes and was met with critical acclaim. With over 5,000 plays a day on myspace and a strong team of Street Team Leaders, Velvet Code is quickly making their mark. The band was ranked 1 on the electronic charts of Reverbnation in February 2008 and has been featured on various podcasts around the world including Dalecast, and MostPeopleAreDJs. Velvet Code is working feverishly with Ollie Hammett and Mark Saunders (Shiny Toy Guns) for their upcoming album which will be released in the fall.Sounds Like: Sad boys who trying to cry but can't because it's frowned upon in this cruel world we live in.Influences: Depeche Mode, Evanescence, GOLDFRAPP, Madonna, Duran Duran, Howard Jones, the Eurythmics, Pet Shop Boys, New Order, Daft Punk, OMD, Basement Jaxx, Madonna, My Chemical Romance, LadyTron, Roxy Music, Pixies, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Ozzy Osbourne, Pat Benatar,2 Many DJs, 808 State, Adult, Air, Alter Ego, Annie, Aphex Twin, The Art of Noise, Atomizer, Aux 88, The Avalanches, Bangles, Bauhaus, The Beatles, Beck, Benny Benassi, Billy Idol, Bjork, Black Strobe, Bloc Party, Blondie, Blur, Bob Dylan, Bomb The Bass, Booka Shade, The Bravery, Brian Eno, Bronski Beat, Cabaret Voltaire, The Cars, Cassius, Chic, Chicks on Speed, Clan of Xymox, The Clash, Claudio Simonetti, Cocteau Twins, Colder, The Cure, Cut Copy, Cyber People, Cybotron, Cyndi Lauper, D-Train, Daft Punk, Data Rock, David Bowie, David Byrne, DFA, DFA 1979, Depeche Mode, Devo, Donna Summer, Dr Dre, Duran Duran, Echo and The Bunnymen, Electric Six, Erasure, Erland Oye, Erol Alkan, E.S.G., Falco, FannyPack, Felix Da Housecat, Fila Brazillia, Fischerspooner, Fleetwood Mac, Foreigner, Francoise Hardy, Human League, Harold Faltermeyer, Francois Kevorkian, Frankie Knuckles, Franz Ferdinand, Freez, Front 242, The Futureheads, Gang of Four, Giorgio Moroder, The Glimmers, Goldie, Grace Jones, Grooverider, GusGus, Hall and Oats, Heart, Hell, Hipnosis, Human League, I-F, Iggy Pop, Interpol, INXS, Isao Tomita, Jacques Lu Cont, Jean-Michel Jarré, John Lennon, Johnny Cash, Joy Division, Kaiser Cheifs, Kate Bush, Kelly Osbourne, The Killers, The Kings of Convenience, The Kinks, Klaus Schultz, The KLF, The Knife, Kraftwerk, Kylie Minogue, Ladytron, LCD Soundsystem, Le Tigre, Leonard Cohen, Lime, Lou Reed, M & H Band, M.A.N.D.Y, M.I.A, Ministry, Mirwais, Mu, My Chemical Romance, Mylo, Nico, Nina Hagen, Nine Inch Nails, Nirvana, Nitzer Ebb, Notorious B.I.G, ODB, Out Hud, Peaches, Pet Shop Boys, Phoenix, Pixies, Playgroup, The Police, The Postal Service, Prince, Pulp, Queen, The Rapture, Relaxed Muscle, Rex the Dog, Rio, The Rolling Stones, Saint Etienne, Scotch, Selfish Cunt, Serge Gainsbourg, Siouxsie, Sisters of Mercy, Skinny Puppy, Smashing Pumpkins, The Smiths, Snoop Dogg, Soft Cell, Sonic Youth, Soulwax, The Stone Roses, Suicide, Talk Talk, Tiga, Throbbing Gristle, Tom Vek, Trans X, Velvet Underground, Visage, Vitalic, The White Stripes, Whitey, X-Ray Spex, VHS or Beta, Whitehouse, Yazoo, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The ZombiesHomepage: http://www.velvetcode.com Link 1: http://www.myspace.com/velvetcodeband
