~About me~ After much deliberation I decided to simplify my page on here, as very few took the time to read it in it's previous slightly novel-esque state. My name is Melanie and I hail from the South of England, I have been upon the Earth for approximately nineteen years. I apologise for the lack of flashiness, ie, sparkily moving things and general other such adornments which might possibly suggest that I am at least somewhat computer literate. I am computer literate up until a point, wherein I then proceed to become hideously perplexed (damn technology..!). I am a strict vegan and am involved quite heavily in both human and animal rights. I am a member of the East Hampshire badger conservation group, and dislike hunting with a passion. I frequently entertain the idea of going out on their horses and hunting them... (you can see where this particular avenue of thought is going so i'll abandon it here). I write FF (fan fiction) and do RPGs (role play games), in the general sort of genre of Harry Potter / Anne Rice's vampires / Lord of the Rings, also incorporating some AC (author characters) and AU (author universes). If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask! I have a somewhat... large obsession with vampires and immortal beings in general. They are stunning, entrancing, beautiful, powerful, dominant and yet... maddeningly unreachable, I could go on... really I could, but I will cease here for your sanity if not for the shreds of my own. For fun I like to go out to places like Slimelight, I also enjoy going out to my local bars and indulging in a cosmopolitan. Whilst we are on the subject of light refreshment I'll enlighten you as to my preference; I enjoy a good glass of old deep red wine on the right occasion, but my heart lies at the bottom of a good glass of Absinthe, I stress the word good merely because, as with everything, there is a good way to drink something and a bad one. I myself prefer to adhere to the more 'traditional' method of Absinthe, wherein the sugar is not lit and the 'louche' is allowed to occur without interruption. Currently I am favouring bottled named 'DOUBS MYSTIQUE' which is a French Absinthe volume averaging around 65% with a high thujone content. Although the way you dress does by no means describe your personality, I feel inclined to describe my dress sense, as it seems to have become somewhat of a major issue on "gothic" websites, so here it goes; I adore velvet and lace, victorian dress being my preference. I have to say I have a soft spot for medieval corset dresses, what can I say.. they're just beautiful.
I do attempt to sew and alter my clothes but I am nothing of a seamstress i'm afraid!
I have to say though, I do love my ancient leather trench coat (bought well before my current vegan days..!), which I wear almost everywhere (if i'm not wearing my cloak or one of my numerous blazers or hoodies... well I am a student..!). I have a soft spot for designer clothing as well, merely because I enjoy the cut and feel of a higher grade of fabric (I should have been born in the 1800's I swear), it's a shame that so many tailors are going out of business these days, the art of dressing to fit your body shape is close to being lost entirely. I must admit that I have a love for military inspired clothing, jackets in-particular although I currently also own two gas masks. I had my eye set on an old straight jacket (don't give me that look..!) but the seller fell through, much to my displeasure, I am however continuing my search as I am looking for a particular one (old style, cross strapped). I do like DM footwear, but my favourite shoes have to be my new rock boots, they're the old style ones. As such, I still wear them (and my leather trench-coat) as they were bought before I was even vegetarian and as such, I don't see how anything can be gained by discarding them! As far as make-up goes, I generally focus on the eyes and the eyebrows - big scary slanty goth eyebrows FTW. Yay!
My ears are pierced in the lobes, which I have now stretched to an 6 gauge in my right, and 00 in my left. Half way up my right ear I have a piercing which holds a 2mm ring. I have an additional lobe piercing on my right ear. I have my anti-tragus pierced on my left ear as well as a scaffold. I used to sport a rather fetching left wrist surface piercing and a left nose stud as well as a sternum microdermal. My left eyebrow is peirced once.
I have four tattoos, my most recent being a vine of my own design on my right wrist.
I currently have about thirty piercings in total. I am an eclectic pagan, which in my case means I am; pagan, wiccan, norse, druidic, shamanic, celtic, whilst studying some native american and egyption beliefs and cultures. I am the archdruidess of the Genesis Order of Druids . I celebrate the eight different turning points in the year as well as performing handfastings and different rites. Now, onto a different subject... I play fourteen musical instruments, some of which include; flute, clarinet, alto saxophone, piano, violin, guitar, amongst quite a few others which I won't go into.
I am currently at grade eight on my flute, but I am literally almost finished with the grading system in my flute as it only goes upto eight in 'grades'. I am now on 'Drop Dead Dolls U.K', check me out there. Just to add, this profile was designed with Mac OS safari in mind, so it might not look as tidy in, for example, MS explorer, let me know if it looks rubbish! I would love it if you would comment upon my profile... etcetera, but do not feel pressured in to doing so, if you would just like to read this, then move on then I have no objection to that at all!
