Please note! I don't add people I don't know/have the potential to know to any of my messengers, unless we already spam each others inbox and it seems more practical that way. I'd prefer to avoid it if possible, though! Keep me active on VF please! :]
I've been wary of editing this, but it's well overdue for an update, so here we go! » Hey tharr. My name is officially and legally now Sanyu! Onward with redundancy I go! I have blue eyes that change with the weather, my mood, my surroundings, I don't know how or why; it's been less frequent lately in any case, but they've only recently come back from being green. Brown hair that is seriously fried and undergoing treatment so to be healthy enough to bleach in future. I am a big advocate of no-cones products and will bring up your shampoo habits at any appropriate moment or awkward silence! Don't let it freak you out or anything. » Drugs are something I do not advise. Drinking, smoking, anything like that... Please don't do it, or at least not around me. I've done soft stuff before and I don't get why people are willing to give so much away for these things, and I'd like to keep it as far away from myself as possible. Thankfully, this is easy online! :] If you describe how smashed you get on the weekends on your profile or in your journal though, don't expect me to reply or meet it with positivity. Just a forewarning is all. » I'm surrounded by Japanese pop culture a lot more than my local pop culture. i.e. I spend too much time on the internet? I don't know, maybe! I find it easier to discover new Asian music than I do to find new local music. I understand Japanese fashions better than I do some of the western fashions I see around, and especially more than what's on the catwalk. I adore the Hime-Gyaru, Lolita and visual styles Japan conjured up so very much. Aside from dressing up to the nines in these styles, I've started getting into cosplay thanks to some awesome friends I've had the overwhelming honour to meet and become close to in this city. They're so encouraging! Currently I am planning to start an I-pin cosplay and a Sakura cosplay for Waicon '09. I hope to god they go smoothly. I will probably be sewing a lot once this con is out of the way and gains me a lot of experience points! » I change my mind about everything, all the time. I'm a very fluctuant person. Because of this, I've taken on a few hobbies in my childhood and onward, but never finished them to any degree I'm satisfied with.. :( I've taken ballet, modeling, tae kwon do, kick boxing, guitar, Japanese, Indonesian (which was a compulsory primary school subject), dressmaking, and vocals. I'm not yet out of this phase, if it is a phase, so I want to take more, and more. I'd really like to continue martial arts somehow, and am occasionally attending ballet with a friend these days. I'd like to learn to play piano, but only if I find a way to keep my nails long at the same time. Yes, shallow, isn't it? I love my nails! I want to learn Mandarin, Cantonese, Japanese, Korean, French, Swedish and perhaps German or even Turkish fluently. I love love love languages! Especially as it gives me a break from being the English grammar nazi I am. It's really a tiring thing to be. :/ There's a lot I want to do before I die. That stuff is important to me. I've been single since July now, but being with Craig for over 2 years means it didn't just "end." It's complicated now, but I'm confident that I'm moving on; slowly but surely. I will always love him, but it'll never go back to how it was. I hope he will stay safe and happy and find someone to love him as I did. Should I list, or should I just rant...? I can't decide. Let's do a bit of both.
This little culture here is my getaway. A little space in my world where I can pretend society is not close minded, cruel and corrupt. It expresses my girly side so well. To me, foreign music is beautiful. Some people say French flows more than Japanese. I say Japanese flows more, but I love them both, dammit. It's mostly Asian + European music, because since... *counts* ...grade 6, Asia had a pretty big influence on me. Mind you, I didn't get a computer until grade 6, let alone the internet. I dealt with the limited dubbing of animé at that stage. Asian and European music is my musical fascination. Oh man, I love colors. 'Scuse me, colours. *is australian* Sometimes I forget that. ...Colours, when applied correctly, can be the sweetest thing in the world! I mean, just look at Japanese street fashion. Another concept that has made its way into my lifestyle. Kind of. If only I had a credit card. Nothing more to say about this, except that colour is fantastic. Especially baby pink, or hot pink on black. Pretty! Where else to express yourself through the way you look? I mean, art I'm sure. I support that, but there's nothing there but your name, really. How else to remember your special look than a photo? Do I sound shallow? Oh well, that's the price I pay for being honest XD A picture really is worth a thousand words, and taking pictures is a damn fun hobby! I love marking events with a photo in my diary or LJ. This place is, as of late, my sanctuary. This article in particular has striked my interest. "group timeline". It has a list of Jpop, Jrock, Indies and Visual Kei bands, when they started recording, and when they've disbanded (if they have at all). I can't wait to memorise some of this; I feel like a horrible fan not knowing anything about the bands I like~ | Dislikes: Same as before with the list+rant thing...
Okay, they're not exactly "bad", but when they ring (a lot) they're really damn annoying. Cell phones are alright, because their ring isn't all "BRING BRING, BRING BRING, BRING, BRING" arghh. And there aren't too many people who call my cell. Usually they call the home phone. That's even more annoying. BRING BRING. *hangs up*. I don't want to use that phone! >< I don't mind if someone else doesn't like something I do, but why bother with it then? It's a waste of time! I don't need people running around thinking they know everything about me because of one little aspect of my [expansive] interest spectrum. Though, this kind of brings me to my next point anyway... Anti-jrock/feminism. AKA ignorance This story is from a few years ago: I was talking to a guy I've known for about a year. Over a year even. His name is Julian. I first spoke to him on my first yahoo name ever, so it must have been a pretty long time ago. In my yahoo profile I hada picture of a cutesy feminine Jrocker named Bou. This cute adorable gorgeous little blondie IS A GUY. Julian asked if it's a girl or a boy. I said "boy" and he said "I bet he's gay". Judgemental, no? me: "no, he's not," julian: "he looks like a fuckin' girl" me: "so? doesn't mean he's gay" julian: "yeah it does. he's a fag" me: "kay I don't care if you think that, but stop talking about it. It's pissing me off and I've blocked more than a few people for being so narrow-minded" julian: "i'm not gonna stop" me: "okay. you're a moron; you're narrow minded, and you're judgemental. go away" julian: "by saying that, aren't you being judgemental too?" me: "no, I'm basing that purely on what you've already said. now go away" julian: "i'm just saying he looks fucking gay. if you can't handle that, go away" *blocks him*
That is what I never want to have to do again. I really hate guys who judge another guy for looking feminine, when they have no idea about the scenes they may belong to. Society sucks. >:[ |
