Latest Journal Entry: I enjoy life a lot. November 18, 2008, 03:36pm
Profile: I don't know who I am, I'm sick of trying to define myself. All I know is that I am. À tous ceux qui sont mal à l'aise par rapport à ma personne: vous me trouvez peut-être bizarre, mais je suis quand même sain d'esprit. Je suis une bonne personne tel que je suis. Here's a sample of my profession of non-faith: I don't believe in sexual orientation. When I kiss a boy I like, I know I'm not straight. When I kiss a girl I like, I know I'm not gay. When I say I'm bi, nobody believes me. Whatever. I don't believe in gender roles either. Considering that I'm the one with the phallus, I therefore get decide what my masculinity is going to be like. Screw traditional stereotypes. I don't believe in evil. To me, either everything is Good, in a spiritual perspective or everything is neutral, in a materialist perspective. Evil is little more than an accepted dogma's opposite. I don't believe in my character/mask. Having a fixed personnality is like having an anchor: it's only useful if you don't want to go anywhere. My personnality is more like a cloak that I will take off when I die, yet I will still remain myself. (Also, a close friend once told me that I changed enormously over the years, like I'm always reconstructing myself, from one year to the next I'm never the same person.) I don't believe in capital-T Truth. Reality is infinite, therefore everything exists. From a relative (subjective) point of view, the truth is finite and the lie is infinite, and from an absolute point of view the lie is finite and truth is eternal. Who cares? There is no meaning of life other than the freedom of being that comes from the fact that there is no meaning of life. Existence is absurd therefore being is essentially freedom, and that is enough meaning in itself as it is. And being is all the God there need to be. Whether or not God is conscious I don't know, he didn't say. "Love is the secret of the universe. End of fucking story." (Jason Louv) I don't believe in "objective reality". I like constructivism. Reality is intersubjective. Any parcel of being is actualized and realized according to its interrealtions with other parcels of being. Beings can only exist in relationships and are therefore defined by them. As relationships are developed, reality is created, not discovered. Theologically, my ontological perspective is based on the tetragrammaton, where the being explained by itself in relation to the being explained by itself. In other words, God is Love. "For I am divided for Love's Sake, for the chance of Union." (Liber Al) And to hell with cartesian body-soul dualism. I'm a holist who admits to emergence. Gold from Lead and spirit from matter: trees grow from seeds. Likes: Occultism: Eliphas Lévi (my favorite author), Ramsey Dukes (a brilliant occult philosopher), Oswald Wirth, Hermes Trismegistus (The Emerald Tablet, Corpus Hermeticum, Kybalion), Joseph H. Peterson, Aleister Crowley (Liber Al Vel Legis and then some), Andrew Chumbley (QUTUB, Azoetia), The Apikorsus, Phil Hine, Rene Guenon, Pythagoras, Ray Sherwin, Julius Evola, Agrippa, Paracelsus, John Dee, Benjamin Rowe, Giordano Bruno, Hakim Bey, Stanislas de Guaita, Princpipia Discordia, Jason Louv (Generation Hex), Sean Cullins (Liber Malorum), etc. I wouldn't be here without it. "There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, Than are dreamt of in your philosophy." -William Shakespeare, Hamlet Magic: I'm no armchair occultist. I don't practice magic, I live it in everything I do. Cemetaries: Belmont (Quebec City), Union (Grand-Mère), Mount Royal (Montréal), St-Luc-de-Vincennes. Anyhow those are the cemetaries where "something happened." Cemetaries can be quite a philosophical and spiritual trampolin. Libraries: UQAM, UQTR, UDM ;) Yeah, I like university libraries. Also a spiritual trampolin. Psychology. (I've a B.A.) My favorite subjects are psychology of religion/theology, "brainwashing" and related subjects, self-development/"transcendentalism," and the relationships between each of these. A goldmine of occult knowledge. This sums it up nicely: "Your eyes are an extension of your brain, he who controls your eyes, controls your brain." (Timothy Leary) I paraphrase: your emotions are an extension of your will, he who controls your emotions, controls your will. LARP: I'm not very much in that anymore. It used to be a lot of roleplaying, costumed partying and disguised sportsmanship. Now it's like children pouting over monopoly. Crafts: I crafed my own canes, staffs, medieval board games and Runes. I'm also a bit into talismanry. Trees: Yes, sometimes I talk to trees and raretimes they answer. Enough said. I just love nature. "'Silly humans,' the trees say, 'just shut up and grow.'" (Dianne Sylvan) Drink: I drink alcohol because I like the taste and sometimes the effects are useful. And WTF is the problem with the occasional, responsible use of natural (or not) entheogens for shamanic, spiritual or even recreational purposes? They are chemicals that imitate chemicals already present in the brain. I stay away from neurotoxins and physically addictive substances, though. Poetry: I don't read a lot of it, but I love Charles Beaudelaire and Edgar Allan Poe. Night: I live mostly by night. I'm fortunate to work the four to midnight shift, which leaves me the rest of the night to play. The downside is that I actually have to get up in the afternoon to adapt to "soceity" - the darn stores are always closed at night... "Listen to them. Children of the night, what music they make." (Dracula) Autumn: My favorite season in this wierd northern climate of Québec. Never too hot, never too cold, just perfect. My job, I'm well-paid to do something I love. And that would be counselling / brief psychotherapy. I'm glad to help the people I can. Spiders. If you want to know, ask. If you've met her, tell her I said hi. Dislikes: The more I live the things I like, the less I have time to complain and worry about the things I don't like. Isn't it amazing?
