Profile: The Stigma was formed in 2002. The band was groping for its proper original sound and refining on it during several following years, deriving inspiration from the music of such groups as The Cure, Joy Division, The Sisters of Mercy and Depeche Mode music. The Stigma began to perform in local clubs and pubsin 2005. The unique and fascinating sounding of compositions they submitted to approval still characterizes the band's considerable creative potential. In 2006 the Stigma recorded a Demo. They prepared this appetizing cocktail according to to the classical gothic-rock recipe, mixing in multifarious electronic sounds and some other secret ingredients. At present the band keeps on giving live shows, often as a part of the Parties, arranged by Volgograd Gothic Community.Sounds Like: Some songs can be associated with the walk in a gloomy spooky night of Gotham City. Some of them sound like overdriven The Cure meets Depeche Mode. And the rest of them dip you into the atmosphere of pure melancholy.Influences: Classic gothic rock like Sisters Of Mercy, London After Midnight, Clan Of Xymox, early The Cure and some electronic sounds like Depeche Mode. Aesthetics of Tim Burton's movies and Eraserhead movie, which leads into labyrinths of a sick mind.
