System Syn

To breathe, to consume, to bleed, to feel pain; these are traits that human beings share with the rest of the animal kingdom. To assign arbitrary value to objects, to wage war, to create art, to label actions as right and wrong, good and bad, virtue and sin; these are all distinctly human traits. If we take away the similar organ systems that mammals share the cardiovascular system, digestive system, nervous system, etc. what are we left with to explain all the beauty and horror that the human animal is capable of? Is there a system that controls why we hope for meaning, why we betray, why we create and why we destroy? These are the ideas that spawned SYSTEM SYN. SYSTEM SYN was founded in 1997 by Clint Carney, a Los Angeles based musician and artist. Combining emotionally-charged electronic music with intelligent, often personal, and uncompromisingly honest lyrics, SYSTEM SYN rapidly became a prominent fixture in the Industrial Music scene. After several years of self-releasing albums and performing many shows in the United States, SYSTEM SYN signed a record deal with Out Of Line (Europe) and Sector 9 Studios (North America) in 2004, for the first official release, Premeditated, and the accompanying single, Momentary Absolution. These releases were supported by an extensive North American tour with Imperative Reaction, and a European tour on the 2004 Out Of Line Electrofestivals, with Hocico, Icon of Coil, God Module and Spetsnaz. The following year, SYSTEM SYN moved up to Metropolis Records, and to much critical acclaim, went on to release the albums Postscript (2005), The Mourning Ritual (2006), and End (2008), as well as a highly successful single for the song Like Every Insect, which featured remixes from acts like Rotersand, Babyland and God Module. During this period, SYSTEM SYN performed countless shows, sharing stages with many well-respected acts such as VNV Nation and Covenant. After a successful headlining tour for End, in 2008, Clint Carney decided to put the band on a performance hiatus, while he worked on what would become the best, and for the band, the most important, SYSTEM SYN album yet: Strangers. In 2010, Dependent Records released Strangers in Europe while SYSTEM SYN continues to work with Metropolis Records in North America. Strangers features eleven intense tracks, written and performed by Clint Carney, with collaborative additions from members of Imperative Reaction, The Autumns, Cindergarden and more. Clints dark and disturbing paintings are featured throughout the album art, making the CD a must-have for old and new fans alike. To kick off the release of "Strangers," SYSTEM SYN embarked on a North American tour with VNV Nation, and are currently planning more shows for 2010.
