Profile: Suicide Ali started in 2004 with vocalist Goshi and guitarist Hiroshi. In late 2005, Hisashi, Yuu, and Mst joined, thus completing the band and allowing the focus to turn to live work. Even before releasing their first single, Suicide Ali had many of their songs available on their official website, gaining many new fans in that way. This year, the band is focusing on bringing you live shows and new music! In 2007 MST left the band on good terms to pursue his own brand of music. Despite how sinister it sounds, Suicide Ali and even the name of this website, The Perfect Suicide, has nothing to do with telling you how to commit the "perfect" suicide. Such is not a healthy frame of mind, nor is condoned by this website. The name is in fact a metaphor for a deeper meaning of life. As is explained in the interview with Tainted Reality, "ali" is Arabic for the word or meaning "supreme" or "perfect". If one peruses the lyrics by Suicide Ali you will discover that they contain a range of emotions and events in a persons life, leading up to a person's last days on the earth. They desire to tell the stories of what life is like, or something in a fantastical world that is all too like our everyday one, only spoken in a lyrical and imaginary way. Another way to put it is, if you were to die tomorrow, what will you remember and feel in those last moments? Being led through life by the lyrics, the stories the songs tell are of joy, pain, death, heartbreak, and even events such as being born itself. Adding to this is a master web of sound, which is both accomplished and stirring. Each member plays a "role" as an actor does in an ongoing drama, which focuses on a specific aspect of their fantasy world. As such, they are pursuing a unique focus on life itself, told in a variety of ways that only they can do so well. Please also visit the band's space on MySpace as well.
