Stickthinspine began in 2008 when Derek Miller decided he needed to gather a live act to perform the many songs that he'd been furiously writing that year. He approached three of his friends, whom he had been working with musically for years, and soon the early stages of the live act were complete. With Derek on live vocals, Jesse Davis on live lead guitar, James Land on live rythym guitar, Dustin Hayward on live bass, and a laptop named Dell, they began to book and play shows at local venues. After playing only ten shows they sent their demo to a local radio station who began to play songs from their disc every sunday and who also brought them in for a half-hour interview spot. Currently Stickthinspine is taking a small break to rehearse new material and work on constructing a new stage decor, as well as discussing setting up a tour in the near future!
