About Me

Screams of Cold Winter are a female fronted Alternative Metal band from the North of England. Formed in late 2007, from the remains of local metal bands, Vocalist Trish, Guitarists Spike and Lundie, Bassisst Dugald, Synth/Keys player Paul, and Drummer Claire, joined forces to combine a heavy and harmonious guitar driven sound mixed with decadent synthscapes and formidable, elegantly delivered female vocals.

Encompassing the raw energy of bands like Nine Inch Nails, Rammstein, Lacuna Coil, Paradise Lost, Tool and Killswitch Engage, while moulding their own original sound Scream of Cold Winter soon took their sound to the road.

Over the last two and half years Screams of Cold Winter sound has continued to grow and evolve and the band continue to develop their presence as a formidable metal band.

Known for their live performances, Screams of Cold Winter thrive on proving themselves to new and varied audiences across the UK.

Already cutting their teeth on the UK live circuit with established acts like -

Abigails Mercy, 3rd Room, Inkubus Sukkubus, Pro-Jekt, Screaming Banshee Aircrew,You Will Fail, By Any Means, Where Angels Fall, From The Ashes,CryGirlCry, shows how they can hold their own with ease.

Despite their constant live presence Screams of Cold Winter have recently shifted their focus to creating and recording their debut album ‘Della Luna’, which will be released by Casket Music in 2010.

With their eyes fixed on new heights It’s only a matter of time before Screams Of Cold Winter lay waste to the UK and the rest of the world.

REVIEWS

“Screams of Cold Winter unite traditional and modern Goth music in a way that is seamless. Crunching guitar riffs chunter alongside soaring female vocals and industrial percussion. The sound is quite fresh and heavy, occasionally choosing to lean intentionally towards a single aspect of its genre instead of combining all three. This should be on the musical list for any fan of traditional goth music as well as the traditionalists"
E.P review in Devolution Magazine - Issue 19 2009

"The Goth band of the year is without a doubt Preston sextet Screams of Cold Winter"
Devolution Magazine - Issue 18

“This Preston based six piece are a hard working tribute to what contemporary Goth music should be… With this EP the group take melodic vocal elements and splice them in between decadent synth work and a mix of complex riffs and rock hard drumming. .. This is a truly metallic onslaught concentrating on vocal prowess that is designed to fill stadiums with traditional Goths raising their fists to the sky.” Sphere Magazine 2008

“Screams of Cold Winter show a lot of potential and promise… they mix both contemporary and traditional sounding goth music with a heavier style guitar sound that seems to really work for them. However, it is the beautiful and elegantly delivered vocals of Trish that makes this band stand out from the crowd" Insomnia 2008
