View the complete Screams of Cold Winter tour schedule Screams Of Cold Winter were formed in late September 2007 when Paul (keyboards), Spike (Guitar), and Lundie (Guitar) former members of Preston based Goth band Asylum, joined forces with Sorrows Fall lead singer Trish & Ryan from Without Motive on drums. After just over 2 months of rehearsing and writing material, the band played their first live gig supporting Pro-jekt and have since gone on to support the likes of Deviant UK, Cybercide ,Novus UK and Rhombus. In march 2008 Ryan was replaced by Claire on drums who recently played her first gig with the band. Screams Of Cold Winter mix traditional gothic metal guitar and synth sounds with powerful and harmonious female vocals. Influenced by Paradise Lost, My Dying Bride and Rammstein to name a few, Screams of Cold Winter have risen up like a new moon from the North West UK Gothic metal Music scene. Formed in late 2007, from the remains of a variety of popular and locally successful gothic/metal and metal bands, vocalist Trish, guitarists Spike and Lundie, Bass player Dugald,synth/keys player Paul, and drummer Claire, have joined forces to combine heavy and harmonious guitars with decadent synthscapes and formidable, elegantly delivered female vocals. Whilst still relatively fresh on the UK Gothic Metal Scene, Screams of Cold Winter have begun to carve out their place. Having already secured support slots with acts such as Pro-Jekt, Inkubus Sukkubus, Cybercide, Screaming Banshee Aircrew and Deviant UK and with a slot at Whitby Goth Weekend, Screams of Cold Winter will make themselves heard in 2008. Whilst maintaining a consistent live presence Screams of Cold Winter are currently writing new, and perfecting existing material for their debut album ‘Della Luna’, which will be released by Casket Music at the beginning of 2009. “This Preston based six piece are a hard working tribute to what contemporary Goth music should be… With this EP the group take melodic vocal elements and splice them in between decadent synth work and a mix of complex riffs and rock hard drumming. .. This is a truly metallic onslaught concentrating on vocal prowess that is designed to fill stadiums with traditional Goths raising their fists to the sky.” Sphere Magazine 2008 “Screams of Cold Winter show a lot of potential and promise… they mix both contemporary and traditional sounding goth music with a heavier style guitar sound that seems to really work for them. However, it is the beautiful and elegantly delivered vocals of Trish that makes this band stand out from the crowd." Insomnia 2008 INTERVIEW WITH SCREAMS OF COLD WINTER The goth metal band of the year, is the Preston sextet Screams of Cold Winter! No amateurs when you see them live, but a feeling of professional musicians well tuned in with each other (or lots of rehearsals) and catering a heavy eerie and epic “Rammstein-meets-the-Gathering”-sound, that crawls up and down your marrow, with faery front lady Trish Lee, who stroke me as the vocal alter ego of Tori Amos. SOCW have their biggest asset in Trish, whom I place on the same shelf as Amos, Anneke van Gielderen from the Gathering and Anneli Drecker from Bel Canto. Each time I see them, they just keep getting better, give me goosebumps, and re-invent themselves. Nearly a year old, and already performing at Whitby this October, where they will give homage to Sophie Lancaster with Finding Her Wings, one of the most beautiful songs ever made. myspace. com/screamsofcoldwinter Upcoming Shows 16 Oct 2008 20:00 Blue Room - Misery of Sound Promotions Blackpool 23 Oct 2008 20:00 The Bobbin Lancaster, Northwest 26 Oct 2008 20:00 Hark To Towler.
