Profile: A three-year silence after the release of Sara's third album ”Saattue” is history. Following the long hiatus, Sara is out with a new album, a renewed line-up and a sharpened vision of what the band is all about. The cooperation with Kråklund records - four years and three full-length albums - is now in the past. Narupatsaat (2000) introduced Sara as the groundbreaking act in the Finnish-sung modern metal scene, while Kromi (2002) took the band into a whole new level in terms of strength, originality and vision. Along “Kromi”, Sara got its first real touch on national radio (with singles “Tanssiin” and “KSK”), a spot in the Top 10 of the Finnish album charts, and started to tour frequently in front of significantly grown audiences. Saattue (2003), the third full-length Sara album, indicated a clear continuum in the direction taken on ”Kromi”. With “Saattue”, Sara got a better view of its essential strengths and the ways of how to capitalize on them. “Saattue” also introduced heavier and more electronically-spiced soundscapes, while adding more melodic depth in the mix. The exceptional tightness of Sara's core (consisting of Jorma Korhonen on vocals/guitar, Antti Tuomivirta and Tommi Koivikko on guitars, Kristian Udd on bass) can be easily explained by their friendship that has taken place since their childhoold years. The latest addition in the band is Andreas Bäcklund (on drums), who replaced Niko Leminen (known as the Sara drummer on the “Kromi” and “Saattue” albums) in the fall of 2005. The positive influence of Andreas on the band has been imminent ever since his first audition - right now, Sara is more energetic and versatile than ever before. The recording deal signed in early 2006 with Universal Music supported the band on its quest for recording the strongest album of its career so far, and taking care of the band's ongoing process of musical evolution. He kutsuivat luokseen (released in September 2006) is the fourth Sara album, presenting a new, more diverse and ambitious Sara. On the new album the band leaves all ties to its past behind, without forgetting what has been seen and done.
