About Name: My name comes from the black bird worshipped by the Indians in Arizona. The Raven was a god. The god of creation and spirit. The god of life and color. For it was said: The Gods created Earth. Each animal had its own task. Raven was to give color to every animal. While giving color to animals, the Raven was originally white. Raven's are beautiful. One day he came amongst a Pelican. He was also white. Raven had two colors left. White and Black. The Pelican pleaded for him to stay white and the Raven turn black. The Raven thought hard. He decided he would stay white. But the Pelican got angry and fled. A few days later, whilest trying to track down the Pelican, Raven received an invitation. 'Twas from the Pelican. Pelican wanted the Raven to visit his home. Raven happily agreed. The Pelican had planned to turn the Raven black. When the Raven got to the Pelican's house, they sat down to eat. Pelican was cautious, waiting to unleash his plan. Up sat an oil lamp to see above them. When the Pelican brought up the question about color, the Raven got mad and decided to leave, but when he turned to leave, the Pelican smashed the oil lamp onto him. Spilling black onto his body. Raven absorbed it all and fled into the night. Leaving the Pelican white forever.
