A friend asked my views on lavey. This is my response. Please leave me qeustions, comments, and feedback. If I get enough questions I will do a sequel to this video answering them. Also leave me Ideas for future vlogs you want to see. Don't forget to rate the video.
Thanks. Nietzsche is very similar to LaVey, but is harder to understand because of his use of archaic English. I do respect LaVey though because he did come up with some interesting quotes. This is my favourite:
In some ways. I'm not familiar with Nietzsche but am decently familiar with Crowley and I can see where you were coming from. Either way that statement is hilarious.
Well, I don't oppose labels as a whole because some labels are unavoidable. But labels such as "Satanist" could easily be called something else because that philosophy has been around long before LaVey. He basically just ripped off Nietzsche, Crowley, and Ayn Rand but threw in a few "hail Satans" here and there for good measure lol. xD
I agree with labels. I'm a Gerist, I choose what I believe in. Agreed, its entirely ok to educate people when questions are asked, but if I did not ask, I do not want to hear it
lol, Yeah, I know you're not a LaVeyan Satanist. I don't consider myself a "Satanist" at all because I don't have any interest in labeling myself with silly titles. Plus, if you call yourself a Satanist, that means you are letting Christian ideals control your life, but are just inverting the symbolism. Why invert something that you don't even believe in? Satanism is just a phase that some angry teenagers go through but the vast majority will grow out of it because it is not practical in the real world, especially if you have to stay in the closet out of fear of losing your job or something. I don't care what others believe in, as long as they don't try to ram it down my throat.
I do not identify myself as a Laveyan Satanist. Although I agree with some points in it I do not agree on others. I was asked to do a vlog on Laveyan Satanism so I did
I have also read TSB, and LaVey's other books too. I agree with some aspects of his philosophy but there are some things like you said that are not very pragmatic. I think if you follow a completely selfish lifestyle like this you will end up someday feeling very alone and empty. I agree that you should only be kind to those who deserve it, but I also believe we should help the unfortunate and the needy because life is short and it's not worth being miserable when it's not going to do us any good in the end.
