She was going to win, and there was nothing that was going to change that, until there was a gun involved. The night had a chill to it, as the pale moonlight reflected off of her skin. Things had been going her way, but now blood trickled down her chin from a punch that she received a few seconds earlier and she knew it was time to get out.

Tearing away she ran down the deserted street, heading for her car. They were right behind her even though she was running as fast as possible.Things were not looking good for her, they had recognized her. This meant, that even if she got away they could still go attack her at anytime. This time it also wasn't completely her fault, she had just been walking home from the store when they tried to rob her. Unknown to them who she was and that she would fight back.

Jumping into the car after it was unlocked she started it, and looked into her rear mirror at the two girl's in running towards her to continue there combined attack. Slamming her foot on the gas, she managed to escape although a car would beat someone running any day. Picking a fight was never a big deal in her eyes but she had gone against the wrong girl and without backup Rayne was pretty worthless.

Arriving at her house, she stood there brushing a piece of her wavy brunette hair behind her ear, nerves getting the best of her. She unlocked the door and went inside making sure it didn't slam shut. Her eyes traced across her surroundings, nobody was around from what she saw. She hoped this with the truth.

"I'm home." She called out, there was no answer. She gave a sigh of relief, none of her family wouldn't be happy about the injuries she had received earlier.

Walking into the bathroom she cleaned herself up with a wet rag and then applied some medication to her wounds. Thinking she was alone, she had left the bathroom door open.

"Fighting again?" Someone questioned, leaning against the door frame with the same green eyes, watching Rayne closely. This was her identical twin Amora, they dressed differently but in every other way they looked the same. Amora looked like she was about to scold her, like their mom would do.

"No." Rayne didn't add anything else, and as believably as she tried to make her statement, her sister could see through it.

"Liar." She sighed, glancing at the cigarettes that were on the bathroom counter, and glaring back at her after snatching them to be thrown away.

"How are you supposed to get accepted if you keep doing these horrid things?" Her voice had begun to rise, but yet still staying below a yell. Amora wasn't much of a screamer anyway, she was generally a nice person.

"I will, we both will." Rayne gave her sister, a reassuring nod. They had both recently applied to transfer into a private school for better education. Amora was going to study more into anatomy, but mainly with bones. In college she hoped to become a orthopedic student and then specialize in that field as a doctor. Rayne was going there to follow her sister, although she didn't admit it. Their mother had suggested it hoping it could stop Rayne from fighting in school, and Rayne agreed.

"Yes, I know we both have great GPA and SAT scores, but I'm still not sure. This place is for rich people mainly since it's so expensive to go. The likely hood of us both getting scholarships isn't very high." She gave a nervous swallow and then focused back on Rayne.

"If we do go, you need to promise your going to stop this." Her pleading voice had Rayne in a bind. She couldn't hurt her sister's feelings, since they were so close.

"I will, I promise this time. Just..."Her voice had trailed off, she couldn't say it. That those girl's had recognized her, they knew her name and might go after her. She didn't want to scare her sister.

"What?" She questioned, concerned but a bit impatient.

"Ah, nothing. I just can't promise to be there everyday." She grinned as her sister's face grew annoyed once again. Rayne needed to change the subject before her sister pressed for more information. Their bond was so strong that they didn't like to lie to each other much and rarely did.

"I will make sure you go, your not leaving me alone." Amora stuck out her tongue, and walked into the bathroom to help with putting bandages on Rayne's face.

After they were done there was nothing more to do but relax so they decided to watch some tv together. They could hear the keys jingling and unlocking the door, their mom had finally gotten home. They were waiting for her because she would have the news to whether they would get accepted to the school.

"Hey girls." She said, walking past them to put her purse down and take off her shoes.

"How did the meeting go?" Amora asked anxiously, the meeting was with the school.

"Let me get in the door." Their mom chuckled as she slipped out of her heels and went to sit down on the couch.

Amora looked like she wanted to jump out of her chair as she stared over, waiting. Rayne yawned as she flipped through the channels.

'Hm, nothing really good on.' She thought to herself.

"Well, it was tricky... getting you both in." Their mom started, giving Rayne a look since she was referring to her.

"What?" Rayne questioned, holding her hands up unsure.

"Well, with your...issues, They didn't want to accept you." Rayne thought her mom made it sound like she was mentally challenged or something.

"I told you!" Amora exclaimed.

"Yeah, and?" Rayne had ignored Amora's comment.

"After giving a thorough explanation on why you were an acceptable choice for their school... Also adding that Amora really didn't wish to transfer without you, they accepted both of you to transfer into Cherry Hill Academy." She finished with a smile.

Amora looked thrilled and didn't waste a minute of celebrating, she was talking so much it was a wonder she could even breathe.

"I can't wait! When do we go? How are we supposed to catch up? Did we get our classes yet? What about our uniforms there? Are you sure we can afford it mom?" Amora couldn't keep pacing, If she kept it up she'd burn a trail right into the floor.

Rayne watched her with slight amusement, but stayed silent as their mom sighed and managed to calm Amora down so she could answer all of her questions.

"You both start after the weekend ends." It was a Saturday.

"It's a new marking period so you don't have to worry about what you missed, plus you're both smart so you should be able to jump right in. That's what told them anyway..."

"I have your schedules in my purse and the uniforms will be dropped off tomorrow." She finally finished, shaking her head in amusement at Amora.

"You forgot a question." Rayne added as Amora nodded gravely in agreement.

"Yes, I can afford it." She responded huffily. getting up and digging through her purse, she handed the schedules to the sisters and headed into the other room.

"First period Medical Science, Second English, Third is dance class and Fourth is Pre-Calc." Amora said, shrugging at her schedule.

"Block periods are odd.... I'm used to having more than four classes a day." She added, "and they've definitely never been almost two hours at a time."

"But we can get a credit from all them. Looks like each class only lasts half a year, everybody is is starting them from the beginning." Rayne said as she glanced over her schedule.

"But we missed the first half of the year." Amora looked a bit sad.

"It doesn't matter, they already finished four classes from the beginning of the year and Mom couldn't afford it then. We still got the other credits for our Junior year in our other school so we'll be able to move on to twelfth grade in June." Rayne spoke informatively, which was odd because that was generally Amora doing so but she was just so excited.

"Your right.." She laughed a bit as she glanced at Rayne's schedule.

"I have Social Studies first, Englsih second, dance class third-" Rayne paused in slight annoyance, she took the class to be with her sister.

"And Ceramics last." She finished.

"Aw, dance class will be fun." Amora nodded.

"Says you." Rayne shook her head, not willing to believe that statement.

The soft echo of the ballroom music echoed across the hall is Rayne sat in a chair nervously in her purple gown. She wasn't sure what she was doing here, she wasn't really fond of dancing because she didn't know how and felt it to be pointless.

The music was seeming to get to her as she began to sway in her chair to the enchanting tune, she wanted to get up and continue to feel the music with her feet on the dance floor.

Then she stopped, shaking her head and looking up to see a boy around her age there, giving her a smile and holding out his hand. She glanced around and pointed to herself.

"Me?" She asked, but he didn't answer. He took her hand and lead her to the dance floor where he began to lead her in the art of dance. She got it perfectly, following his steps and twirling at the right times. Looking up to smile to him, she realized she couldn't see his eyes. Unsure if the shadows were blocking the way or possibly if he didn't have eyes she tried to get closer and look, but next thing she knew he had twirled her and sent her flying into a black abyss.

Jumping with a start, her breath quickened by the fright of the dream she glanced across her dark room to realize everything was okay.

"Rayne! Are you up yet?" Amora's voice came from the hallway outside of her door.

"Yes." She mumbled, realizing today was the first day at the new school.

Dragging herself out of bed, she almost went to pull out her traditional jeans until she remembered the uniform.

The girls were allowed to wear khaki pants, but as they had to be bought separately, for now she'd settle for what she had before her. Rayne looked to the bed and found herself staring at a red plaid skirt and a black coat. She traced her finger over the red school crest adorning the coat. Next she let her eyes roam over the long sleeved blouse that'd go under the coat, those were bought separately. Her mom had picked them each up four of them. Once winter was over they'd be replaced by short sleeved blouses. She sighed, wishing she'd tried all of this on yesterday.

After slipping into the skirt and blouse, Rayne moved on to the pile of accessories. She tried her hand at the red tie, but that was a no go, so after choosing to leave it hanging around her neck for the time being, she picked up a pair of long black socks. The socks reached just below her knees in traditional school girl style.

'This could be worse' she thought to herself.

She'd just slid on the black coat when Amora walked in.

"Are you ready yet? What is taking you so long?" Her sister asked.

"Oh, your just having trouble with your tie, I can do it." She walked over and immediately began to help, it took roughly 30 seconds to finish.

"Thanks." Rayne smiled lightly, she still felt a bit nervous about going to the new school.

"No problem, now let's go get some breakfast." Amora said as she headed for the door.

Rayne sighed, not sure if her nervous stomach could handle food right now. Taking one last glance in the mirror she began to follow her sister. "Wait." Rayne was startled by what she saw, Amora stopped to look back.

"Yes?" Amora glanced at her sister and walked back.

Rayne noticed something and wanted to show Amora. She pulled her hair out of the hair tie she'd originally pulled it back in. Removing her hair tie and allowing her hair to fall to her shoulders

"Look." She pointed to her mirror that was attached to the top of her dresser, Amora looked at it and a look of shock flashed across her face.

"Oh wow, it's been awhile since we've looked so much alike without doing it on purpose." Rayne nodded in response.

"We should do this more often." Amora grinned, her face said that
she was already plotting.

"Hmm, I'm guessing by your expression that you've already got some plans to trick our new classmates." There was a returning smirk as this was said.

"Possibly."

After eating they both headed to Amora's car, it was about a fifteen minute drive there. The next thing they knew, they were pulling into a school parking lot. The school had a gorgeous castle-like appearance. It looked like something straight from a movie. Teenagers in matching uniforms, just like the twins' were as far as the eye could see. Rayne could tell right away that these kids were the exact opposite of those found at a public school. Buses were a rarity, everybody here could afford a driver.

It all seemed to amaze Amora, she didn't stop talking once as they tried to find their parking spot. Finally they found it and she pulled in as Rayne stuffed her earbuds in her ears. She really didn't feel like answering the same obvious questions a million times. Yes, they're twins, and yes they're new. She knew from experience, most teenagers don't use logic before opening their mouths.

"Rayne, aw come on. Don't turn yourself into a social pariah on the first day!" Amora had come from the other side of the car, after they got out. She was referring to the ear buds.
"Meh, come on." She began to walk with Amora on her side, and then sighed as people started glancing at them. Rayne knew it was because they looked exactly alike. She was relieved she had headphones to discourage people from questioning her.

As they headed into the building, the began to search for their first period. This proved to be a lot of work as the school was at least twice the size their old school.

"I think I need to go left." Rayne stated, looking at her map while Amora looked deep in thought.

"I need to go right." She finally said, glancing up sadly.

"Good luck." Rayne gave her one last reassuring look and headed on her way as Amora did the same.

Walking down the hallway Rayne was noticed by a few people but now that she wasn't next to Amora, she was able to go on without too many questioning faces staring after her. After a few twists and turns she ended up at her classroom. Sighing deeply to mask her slightly nervous butterflies she headed into the entrance of the classroom. It was halfway filled with students and only a few glanced her way.

After reminding herself to stop caring if people were staring, she headed to an open seat in the left side of the back of the room.

The only thing that ran through her mind as she waited for the bell to ring was 'This will go by quickly and painlessly if I just relax and do all my work.' she kept telling herself this until the room was full and the bell rang.

Rayne reluctantly turned off her music, put her ipod away, and waited for the teacher to speak.

"Welcome, class. To the second half of your year. I am Mr.Jones." He started.

"All of us teachers hope you had a great Christmas vacation..." he said with poorly masked false enthusiasm. After he finished his speech that nobody listened to, he moved on to taking roll. Rayne didn't bother to remember the faces that went with the names.

"Rayne blah" He said.

"Here." She answered flatly, he nodded and looked like he had more to say. She figured he would get back to her later. After all, she had missed half of the year.

"Damon and James Dalloway?"Mr. Jones said in the direction of two boys. Rayne almost didn't think twice about what she'd just heard. Then she suddenly whipped her head around, her mind racing. They had the same last names, that could be very interesting.

Already at the back of the room, she didn't have to turn her head far to look. sure enough, there at the other end of the room sat two twin boys, just like Amora and herself. Her swift movement alerted the one closest to her, he turned his head to appraise her cooly. After a quick second he rolled his eyes and looked away. Rayne felt her cheeks grow hot and quickly turned her face back toward the front of the room.

She couldn't possibly pay attention though, she couldn't stop thinking about his reaction when he looked at her. Who did he think he was judging her so early on? That was okay, she could dislike him right back, at least she had a good reason. Unlike some people. She had to fight the urge to glare in his direction. Instead she settled for reminding herself that it really shouldn't matter to her whether there were other twins here at her new school. She forced herself to forget about him and tried to focus on what the teacher was saying.

"This class is going to be about World history, starting with brief review of the Civil War and World War 1, then onto World War 2. Now I know you guys have never had me before so let me explain to you my expectations..." By this time Rayne seriously missed her iPod. She liked how he got right to the point, but right now she really just didn't care.

She drowned him out and went into her own little world until he mentioned passing out a worksheet, sighing, she brought herself back to the real world. Glancing down, she assessed the assignment. It seemed relatively simple but she didn't feel the need to do it. She then thought of her sister and knew she'd want her to do it, so reluctantly, she pulled out a pencil and got to work.

The rest of the class was dull and uneventful, and she couldn't be happy enough to hear the bell ring to head to English. As she stood up she noticed a girl walking barreling down the lane she was standing in. She was walking so quickly that she accidentally bumped into Rayne and dropped some books and a nicely folded paper.

"Oh, I'm so sorry!" She seemed flustered, but Rayne was unfazed as the ambush didn't have the element of surprise. She'd seen her coming, she just didn't react in time.

It's okay...." Rayne mumbled, as she helped her pick up her papers off the floor. she noticed the neatly folded piece of paper and picked it up intending to hand it back. As she moved it toward its owner she noticed the name 'James' scrawled across the front in neat letters.

'Damon?' She thought to herself, wondering who it was. Other than the teacher she couldn't remember even one name from the whole class. The girl said a quick thank you and went on her way. She must had been on her way to give that guy that note or stick it in his locker or something.

As she left the room she got caught behind the twin boys, after a bout of sighing and stepping on heals she finally made her way around them. She wanted to get to English to see her sister.

"What is her problem?" One of them asked in an indignant tone, Rayne could barely hear the conversation.

"I don't know but saw her staring at us earlier, she looks new too, ugh already attracted to us." The other replied, she was so tempted to turn around and beat him down right there, but she took a deep breath and ignored the comment.

Rayne knew if she listened for any second longer, she would want to hit them so she quickened her pace and put their voices behind her.

As she got to the classroom, she noticed Amora was already there and waiting for her. Rayne smiled, and headed over to sit in the seat that was saved for her. As she sat down, people around them stared in amazement. How predictable she thought, resisting the urge to roll her eyes.

Amora didn't seem to mind, after introducing herself and Rayne she chatted with a few people. As this was happening Rayne just tried her best not to look annoyed as she was half tempted to say 'Yes, were identical! I know it's so amazing but there is no reason to stare.'

After enduring yet another lecture from a teacher she hardly took any notice of, that another worksheet was in front of her. Like the other one, she had no intrest in doing it, but her sister didn't like her slacking off. As they began to work, Amora struck up a conversation with the girls from earlier.

Rayne tapped her pencil on the desk staring absently at the plain sheet of lined paper, shifting in her seat, she tugged on her uniform. The uniform might have looked good but it was definitely not something she was used to, she felt uncomfortably confined.Noticing Rayne's distress, Amora attempted to distract her with trying to get her involved with the conversation.

"Rayne stop messing with your uniform, " she snapped at her sister. "We're not really used to these as we're from a public school," she said in response to the looks from the girls around her.

"Hah, no kidding." One added in.

"I mean, I came here because I really liked your educational programs but my sister here, she just followed me." As she finished, she gave a small smirk to her joke, waiting for Rayne to react.

"Someone has to protect you, dear sister." Rayne finally said as she gave Amora a heavy pat on the head, returning her expression with a grin. Amora looked insulted, but didn't take it too seriously, she knew Rayne was just kidding.

"How dare you.... I'm the older sister...." Her mouth fell open into an 'o' of fake astonishment, she then proceeded to sniffle. A few girls around them giggled, highly amused by their play acting.

Rayne glanced at them smiling, really noticing them for the first time. There was three girls, one dirty blonde, a red head and a platinum blonde. She forgot what they said their names were... again.

"You guys are pretty funny." The red head nodded.

"Heh, well my sister is a bit quiet but she's not as anti social as she pretends to be." Amora smirked.

Rayne really wanted to ask their names but she didn't want to sound like a fool because she knew they had said them not too long ago.

"Anti social... pfft.." Was all Rayne had to say to that comment. The rest of class passed normally, conversation continued and Rayne added a comment every now and then. She wasn't really paying attention though, she was too busy considering her after school options.

As the next class grew closer Rayne's mood grew worse. By the time the bell rang she wore her agitation on her face.

"Dance class next." Amora spoke excitedly as they walked down the hallway. They were heading for the classroom in the arts section, Rayne could remember it pretty well in the pamphlet they had looked at earlier that month, it looked like a ballet studio. The fact that she remembered didn't help her mood in the least.

"So what is this class exactly...." Rayne asked.

"(some dance name class about all dances o.O)" Amora answered as they approached the classroom and walked through the door. Rayne noted that there was an even amount of girls and guys,as she made her way across dance floor and settled near the wall and ballet bar. What a pity she thought, there was no excuse for sitting out.

"Hello, my new students." A chipper short woman spoke as she walked up to them. Rayne couldn't take her eyes off of this teacher. She might as well be a legal midget. Rayne suppressed the urge to giggle at her own wit. Rayne and Amora were both pretty average in height, maybe a bit tall reaching 5'7" and this lady looked to be barely 5'1".

"Welcome to your first dance class with me." She continued smiling as she looked around at everyone, after some more pointless babble she began to take role like all the classes did so. This was only significant because of one thing,

"Damon & James Dalloway?" There was no reply, she glanced around. A few people groaned in annoyance, Rayne wasn't too sure what what was about until she listened.

"They were here..."

"Two sets of identical twins in one class?"

"They are such players."

"We'll never get a chick from this class now."

"Settle down, class." She marked something on the attendance list, most likely that the boys weren't there. Her expression showed mild annoyance at their absence.

When she was done taking role, she ordered everyone to head to the locker rooms and change into their gym clothes, then come back and try their own stretches while she made a phone call, she'd teach them the proper way to stretch when she was done.

"I bet she's calling their family." Rayne said to Amora, as they changed.

"Those guys.... twins, I remember them." Amora said quietly, almost to herself.

"Yeah, they're-" Rayne started, before being cut off by her sister.

"Very attractive." Amora finished.

"Well, I was going to say rude." Rayne added, although for some reason she knew Amora was going to be attracted to them. Rayne did agree with her, but she would never say that because she wouldn't want anyone hearing it and she also knew that as far as she could tell, they were complete, arrogant, jerks.

"Well I don't know them, I've just seen them around." Amora shrugged as they both headed out and started stretching, Rayne was following whatever Amora was doing.

"Trust me, you don't want to. I hardly spent a minute in their company and I can just tell how horrible they are." Rayne spoke in a flat tone, not willing to waste any emotion on them.

"Can you tell them apart?" Amora asked suddenly, looking into Rayne's eyes.

"What?"

"Can you?" She asked again.

"Well, not yet but... after a few days I should be able too..." Rayne's voice trailed off as Amora stopped to sit up and look at her.

"You're being kind of hypocritical you know. You hate when people judge us before they know us. You're doing the same to them. We need to get to know them before you can make comments like that." Amora said in her intelligent, knowing tone. Rayne wasn't too fond of it.

"Okay, you're right. But they don't seem to open up. If I'm right, will you help me with an idea I have...?" Rayne said this kind of hesitantly, looking away towards the last part, unsure of what Amora would say. She didn't say anything at first, but then she shrugged with slight laugh.

"Alright."

As the teacher came out she looked a bit calmer as she begun giving more of her first day speech that she hadn't said before. Mainly about how they would be learning trickier dances as it went on, if you didn't participate you wouldn't pass, and if you took the class because you thought it would be easy then to switch out. Rayne listened quietly, she knew that dancing wasn't too hard but she wasn't sure how she felt about dancing in front of everyone.

Plus the twins were going to be in that class, she mentally groaned. The more she saw them, she felt the less she would like them.

Finally the teacher was done, she got everyone up and following her in simple stretching activities and then started learning some simple dancing moves and tips. All the from different kinds of dance, every time she taught a move she would add whether it was considered ballet or another kind of dance. Usually it was ballet or jazz, though she said they would do tap and couple dancing later on, like ballroom and Salsa dancing.

Surprisingly, time felt like it flew by and the next thing Rayne knew, the bell was ringing. As everyone went to grab their bag the teacher added,

"Good work everyone, don't forget to bring some sweats or tights to dance in next time if you don't want to wear your gym uniforms, and I would like everyone to get ballet shoes or dance sneakers sometime since dancing without them isn't good for your feet."

Everyone nodded to her and answered with an 'okay' as they headed out the door and to their next class or lunch.

"I'm starving." Rayne groaned as they walked into the cafeteria, Amora agreed and they rushed towards the lunch line.

After waiting five minutes or so they both got their food, which they noticed to be much nicer than the food at public school.

"Damn, this is like college food." Rayne said, referring to the fact that it had a set up like a college with more to choose from then just one or two main meals. The food was a bit more expensive but it seemed worth it.

"Well, this is a private school. They better have nice food." Amora responded with. They both were lucky to receive almost a full tuition pay to get in after taking the school's transfer test, they just were unsure with Rayne's record before she could have been accepted. If they hadn't, their mom wouldn't be able to pay for the both of them to go to the school.

"I suppose." Rayne shrugged as they sat alone at a table, not long after the three girls from second period came over to sit with them.

"Haven't you guys made any more friends?" The dirty blonde asked, Rayne had asked their names after 2nd period so she knew her name was Maya.

"Yeah, but I can't leave my sister." Amora said back in a friendly tone, Rayne felt bad because she really hadn't tried to talk to anyone but the people at this table and the teachers.

"So how was dance class?" The red head asked, her name was Fallon.

"It was better than I thought." Rayne admitted and Amora grinned, she was glad that Rayne had enjoyed herself.

"We have those twin boys in our class too." Amora added.

"The Dalloway brothers?" The third girl asked, she was the platinum blonde named Lillian.

"Yeah." Rayne answered.

"There so hot.... but mean, or so I've heard." Fallon answered, spilling anything she could think of in typical girl tone.

"Yeah, anytime a girl asks them out, they reject them so coldly." Lillian added, with the tone of a gossip.

"How?" Amore asked, curious.

"The girls won't say, since it's so embarrassing. I mean, none of us were best friends with them or anything, so it would make sense for them to keep it to themselves." Maya replied, referring to Lillian and Fallon as well.

"Interesting..." Rayne said absently, she was deep in thought. She looked over at her sister giving her the 'I told you.' look. Amora didn't seem to believe them but didn't argue.

Not much was said after that as they all were concentrating on eating, just general conversation.

Heading out of the cafeteria, the twins said goodbye to their friends and then turned to each other.

"Well, I'll see you after class." Amora smiled, although she felt a bit sad having to leave Rayne again.

"Okay, see you then." Rayne responded, as they split and went to their fourth period.

As Rayne headed to her next class she promised herself she would try to make more friends, she didn't want to hold her sister back or be as anti social as she seemed. She liked having friends, she just usually stayed back and watched everything that happened other than being apart of it unless it involved standing up for herself or someone close to her.

She entered the class feeling pretty good even if she was alone, she picked a seat next to a girl who seemed to be sort of quiet hoping she could relate to her in some way.

Rayne looked at her and wondered what could get a conversation going before the bell rang and the teacher started class. When she looked over, her target was drawing what appeared to be a female, and if Rayne wasn't mistaken, it was being morphed into a fairy.

"Oh wow, your great at drawing." Rayne said with a slight smile, trying not to be too cautious.

She looked up and returned the smile, running her fingers through her reddish brown hair in slight embarrassment as she said,

"Oh, thanks."

"Sorry, my name is Rayne."

"No it's okay, My name is Alexia." She replied.

Rayne continued to talk to her for a couple minutes until the bell rang and the last few students scurried in except one person who casually strolled in. This would have been inconsequential had it not been for one small thing, it was one of those twin boys. He was missing his brother though which Rayne was glad about it but she still wasn't too happy about having even one of them in looking distance.

"Do you know him and his brother?" Alexia asked, noticing Rayne starring at him.

"Oh, Um no, sorry. I didn't mean to stare at him, I just.... after the first impression of him and his brother, I'm not too fond of them." Rayne stopped after she finished, Did they really matter? She couldn't believe these two morons were affecting her like this. Just because they were twins like her and Amora, didn't mean anything. She felt like she had already had this mental conversation with herself a few too many times.

After he sat down a few from where she was, she promised herself that she wouldn't make it a big deal anymore.

During roll call she learned that this twin was James, and that he didn't seem as loathsome as his counterpart. She knew that this one was not the same twin who'd rolled his eyes at her because when she glanced at him when his name was called, their eyes met for a fraction of a second and his expression didn't change, he just looked away.

Being a twin herself she already started to notice the differences between these twin boys, she just couldn't quite put her finger on it yet.

After going through rules they started planning for their first project: a paper mache creation. Rayne's plans were almost all mapped out when the bell rang to go home, she gave a relieved sigh as she stood up and started collecting her belongings.

"See you tomorrow." Alexia said to her happily, Rayne was glad she had found someone she could talk to all of class. It turned out, that Alexia was focusing on art and wanted to take the college leveled art class offered in their 12th grade year, but to do so, she had to take all of the art classes involving painting, ceramics and one other choice. There was also dance, theater, photography and a few others too choose from.

After calling a goodbye, she headed out to find her sister. This proved to be a challenge since Rayne did not know the layout of the school, where Amora was coming from nor where they would meet.

"Damn." Rayne muttered, standing to the side of the hallway looking all around. Finally she gave up and began to head to their car. As she walked outside she noticed the few bus's were gone and most people leaving with their cars.

That's when she noticed another building she hadn't noticed in the morning, it wasn't far so she went to check it out. It was a dorm for students who wanted to stay on campus. That actually explained the lack of buses.

'Amora probably told me about this....' Rayne thought to herself, almost laughing out loud at herself and for her lack of knowledge.

Looking over and closer to the dorm building, she saw a few people she recognized though none were Amora. It was the girl who had dropped all of her stuff in first period and James with his brother hiding not far from them, where they couldn't see him. The situation looked serious so she stepped quickly and quietly behind the dorm sign, to the point someone could probably see her, but not know who she was.

Her curiosity getting the best of her, she turned her ears in their direction and focused on what was being said.

"This note, I read it too." Was all James said, as the girl trembled and gulped a little. Rayne could barely see behind the wall of the sign but sitting down she was able to creep around it a bit to watch. She felt like a spy. She had to admit, it felt cool.

"Um, yeah. I just really, like your brother." She looked like she was about to cry, staring at the ground in embarrassment. Rayne at this point was downright confused, because she knew well enough that, that was James. But this was supposed to be Damon since the note earlier said, 'James' on it.

Rayne then considered the fact that maybe she was wrong because she didn't really know them.

"Well, I came instead because... I like you." He spoke with such sincerity, that her eyes looked up less scared.

"Y-You do?" She stuttered, unsure of what else to say.

"So I was wondering, if you would date me instead?" He asked her, making Rayne think that she was wrong about the boys and maybe Amora was right. They were alright guys just, a bit cocky and maybe the one was having a bad morning.

"Well..." She started.

"I mean, we look exactly alike... there would be no difference right?" He was still smiling.

This is when Rayne realized what was really going on, but she couldn't believe it. Hoping it wasn't the truth, she bit her lip nervously.

"Alright." The girl agreed, returning the smile.

Right after she had finished, his face had gone from a smile to a blank face that looked slightly annoyed. Then he smirked.

"Really? It's that simple for you?" He asked. His tone was just as cocky as Rayne remembered from that morning.

"Damon, she said she would date you instead. Apparently one twin is the same as the other." As he said it, Damon emerged from his hiding behind a tree and nodded in satisfaction.

"Interesting." He grinned, evilly. The girl looked horrified and Rayne almost went out there and did something. she couldn't move though, although anger was practically bursting out of her. She couldn't believe what she was hearing, but she couldn't have a fight on the first day of school.

Tears welled up in her eyes as she fully comprehended the trick they'd played and their rejection.

"To tell you the truth.... I don't date girl's who settle." Damon's expression had turned cold, James's expression reflected his brothers.

The girl stood there lost for words as James ripped up he letter and the brothers walked away leaving her standing there, a few seconds after that she ran off, tears pouring down her devastated face.

As Rayne stood up, she felt her body almost shaking with anger but she managed to shake it, as she turned around she saw Amora standing there.

"Oh there you are." Rayne said, while Amora looked a bit confused with many things going through her mind.

"Yeah, I came to find you...." She finally answered,

"I guess you saw that?" Rayne questioned, knowing Amora wouldn't be to too happy.

"Yeah, that poor girl..." She sighed.

There was a bit of pause as they both stared at each other and then started towards the car, as Rayne turned to start complaining about the boys Amora said,

"So what was your plan?" She looked back at Rayne with a devious 'payback time' look on her face.

*~3~*

After Rayne had gotten home, she dressed in sweats and laid down in her bed to relax. It had been a long day and quite a transition from public school. She felt so annoyed but at the same time, happy with herself, she hadn't gone and fought but, she had wanted too.

Fighting was in her blood and her soul through family ties and because of how she got into it as a younger teen. The memories that brought on this need to fight, to prove herself started taking over, she had fought to suppress. Amora's affect was actually a lot different, She actually took more a positive outlook on it and made herself the best person she could be. Sometimes a little too perfect, and that was one of her bigger faults.

"Why did this happen...?" She muttered subconsciously to herself, this memory playing in her mind was never a pleasant one. Although only being 4 o'clock, her eyes felt heavy as they began to droop immensely from her long day and she drifted off to a soundless dream.

Rayne was having dreams of the past now that she had started thinking about them and the only thing that woke up her up was her mom knocking on the door.

"Rayne hunny...?" She questioned, walking in. Rayne woke with a start, uncomfortable from her dreams but glad to be awake and away from them.

"Yes?" She mumbled, still a bit groggy.

"I need you to go the store and pick up some things... do you mind?" She asked, as Rayne stretched.

"Can't Amora go?" She groaned, throwing a pillow over her head.

"She told me to ask you and I have dinner started or else I would just go." Rayne sighed, taking the pillow off as she looked at outside from the window.

"I'll go." she said in a resigned tone. Her mom nodded and headed out the door after giving her a list and money.

"At least it's sunny out." She mumbled to herself.

It may have been sunny, but that didn't mean it was warm. Although she had put on a hoodie, coat, scarf and gloves so she could feel the cold air surrounding her.

The store wasn't far away so she decided against wasting gas and just started walking there. It took about fifteen minutes as she strolled down the sidewalk and into the store. Her town wasn't too big but yet, wasn't quite a small town. This meant it was easy to get to a store and you didn't have to drive everywhere. Plus she didn't really have to leave this town to get anything because it had plenty of shopping varieties. From groceries to clothes, the town had pretty much everything.

She walked in and grabbed the few needed things and got out. Heading out she saw a fruit stand, Rayne couldn't understand how they were able to stand outside in the middle of winter. After buying an apple she started on her way home.

Just as her lips touched the apple, she felt weird. She bit down and knew better than to glance around, her instincts were telling her that she was being followed by shadows and shuffling sounds behind her. She knew if her instincts were right then she needed to stay in public eye, though that wasn't possible since she needed to get home. Until she was done her apple she kept in public view, but once she was finished she was ready. By this time now, she had pretty much figured it was going to be an attack or just getting robbed since they hadn't come out yet.

She almost cursed under her breath, but she didn't want them to know that she knew already. She really regretted not driving at this point as she stopped suddenly and dropped her bag of stuff from the store.

"Who's following me?" She growled, body tense, ready for anything.

"Wow, you could tell you were being followed?" One girl said, it was the girl from the weekend that had tried to rob her, she had one other girl with her this time.

"Like father, like daughter." The other girl smirked, Rayne felt rage pulse through her entire body but held herself back. For now.

Back for more?" Rayne threatened. She didn't really want to fight, but she knew this was the only way you could talk to people like this.

"Nobody attacks me and gets away with it." The girl ran her fingers through her poorly dyed black hair, irritation clearly written on her face.

"Oh?" Rayne smirked, her smart ass attitude coming out.

"How are you going to get satisfaction from this?" She questioned.

"What are you talking about? You hit me before, and now you're done." Her reply was simple.

"Done? Why don't we just solve this like-" But Rayne got cut off by her swinging a punch, she barely dodged hiding the surprise. The other girl standing their just seemed to come as a viewer or back up if things got bad because she didn't do anything.

"Now that was uncalled for." Rayne was angry now, she knew that she needed to get away since they probably had a gun like they did last time. Now Rayne did have a small gun just in case she was threatened with one, though she rarely ever used it but today she didn't have anything on her except her fists.

The girl didn't wish to speak anymore though and she just kept her attack up, managing to get Rayne in the stomach. Rayne's reaction was to fight back, and that she did. Punching the girl as hard as she could in the face knocked her back and to the ground gave Rayne enough time to grab her bag from the store and run as fast as possible. She figured that the girl had hit her head pretty hard because she didn't chase her and her friend seemed too concerned with her leader to shoot or go after Rayne.
