Gothic Metal Does Not Exist

If it did, it would have to either

a) be something to do with goth music, or
b) be something to do with gothic architecture, gothic novels etc.

There are no bands which sound like metal and goth music mixed together (if there are, please leave me a comment and let me know), and how do you make a band sound like architecture or a novel?

All the bands I have heard described as 'gothic metal' are either just plain metal with female vocals, power metal, or symphonic metal (with an orchestra, choirs etc). Mainly with female vocals. Nothing to do with 'gothic' at all.

I'm not going to get into any kind of argument about this, as I just end up repeating myself and it gets boring. If you want to know more, join this cult, Old_School_Goth and we can have a discussion about it
