Deep within the far reaches of the Legion, a wise and ancient race of beings make their home, after aeons of running from Gods almighty wrath.  The Hyperboreans. A myth? A forgotten facet of evolution? Or the most advanced civilization to enter the Garden of Eden? The pages of Genesis, credit mortals as the first race to walk the earth. However, like so much scripture labled gospel, this is not the case. At the dawn of creation, the Hyperboreans were the first to be molded in Gods own image. Upon entering earth's realm, they quickly spread across the globe, building cities and kingdoms. As the aeons passed, The Hyperborean empire flourished, and It was magnificent. Too magnificent, it would seem. From his gilded throne in heaven, God watched their kingdom grow to such splendour, he feared it would one day rival his own heavenly domain. So in his jealousy, he struck them down. Armies of Angels spilled from the heavens, slaughtering man, woman and child. Buildings were razed to the ground, leaving the earths landscape scorched by divine flame. All but a few escaped, seeking refuge in the darker planes of reality. Although God did not relent in his desire to see all Boreans purged from existence. His Angelic soldiers scoured the realms, facing certain death themselves if they failed to finish the task they had started. Unable to find a permanent place to hide from God's watchfull gaze, The Boreans continued to evade their pursuers until they came across the Legion of Darkness. Information & Abilities As a race, the Hyperboreans are extremely evolved beings. Aesthetically, they appear to be identical to humans. It is their biology that sets them apart. The network of nerves encasing their brain follow a different path to that of mortals, allowing them to utilize a higher percentage of their mind. Their healing capabilities are highly advanced to the point it prevents their bodies from ageing. A fully mature Borean has the appearance of a twenty five year old. Possessing a heightened awareness of their own biology and that of others, the race have powerful diagnostic abilities. Empathic and telepathic skills are also a gift of their kind, which is strongest between those who share genetics. Of course, the various races who make their home in the Legion, possess skills making them a worthwhile ally on the battlefield. The Hyperboreans are no different. Being highly attuned to their physical enviroment, Boreans are able to manipulate and bypass the laws of physics towards both beneficial and maleficent ends. Being able to manipulate and bypass the laws of physics, a Borean can teleport, cause remote explosions as well as gravitational fluctuations in the surrounding area. An Arch ranking Hyperborean possesses such a mastery over the laws of physics, when he/she causes an explosion, they can invert the resulting force. The effect of this being that anyone caught in the blast wave, will be pulled towards the core of the explosion, as opposed to away. |
