Below are some common questions related to the VF Messenger applications.
Q: Where are the Linux Binaries
A: For now the Linux version is Source Code only, as we are updating very frequently and it's too time consuming to produce binaries each time. If you don't know how to compile from source, please wait until the first stable (non-beta) release, which will have binaries for Fedora and Ubuntu.
Q: Where is the Mac OSX version?
A: Because I don't have access to a Mac to develop and test on, there is unlikely to be one for now.
Q: How do I chat with a friend?
A: Just double-click their name in the Friends list, that will open a chat window. Of course your friend needs to be running the program too and online.
Q: How do I chat with someone is not in my friends list?
A: With this version, you can't. We will be adding this feature though.
A: You can either drag their profile page link from your web browser into the Friends list on the Messenger, or use the Friends -> Chat With menu option.
Q: Can I chat with someone who is not running the VF Messenger?
A: Not yet. Eventually the VFIM flash application (the one that pops up in your web browser) will be integrated with the VF Messenger.
