These are automatic much like the Top Rated and Most Rated lists.

Sub-forum shows only for staff members to help eliminate the need for staff stickies in the main forum area.
To be able to post in there, the 'New Topic' page would still have the "Staff thread: yes/no" option, and if "yes" is selected the thread would automatically appear in the staff-sub forum and not the main one.

Also, "add affiliates" works very similarly to profile friends lists, and can have [mutual affiliate] under the cults that have added each other back.
