Name: Emerald Laurent
Age: Human years - 16, vamp years - 116
Species: Bitten
Personality: Emerald is quite childlike and unstable. She is easily excitable, but also easily bored, with a very short attention span. She also has a very short temper, and very far from humanity. She sees human life as expendable, and takes her own immortality for granted. Emerald is very lonely, and manipulates people while looking for companionship. She is not bothered by people's opinions, or trying to find some sort of validation from anyone but herself. Having being turned at a young age she finds it easy to adapt to changes in culture.
Background: Turned in 1911, Emerald has seen the turn of two centuries in her life, or death, time. Once a young heiress from Paris, Emerald lived lavish lifestyle filled with balls, mansions, shopping in Parisian boutiques and a private education. She had everything she wanted handed to her on a golden platter and was extremely spoiled by her parents, Edwin and Lucinda Laurent. Emerald had many talents in the area of music, and was taught to play a variety of instruments, such as the piano and violin. She attended the Leclair Acadmey, a boarding school situated just outside of Paris, until the age of 16. It was there that she found a passion for poetry, finding love for the works of William Shakespeare and Alfred Tennyson. One afternoon Emerald made the horrible mistake of attending tea at one of her mother's friend's houses. There she met a girl close to her own age called Lacy Monroe. Lacy was a seemingly shy girl with long, wavey, dark brown hair. She seemed timid as a mouse and not one of many opinions but something automaticaly pulled Emerald toward her. The girls ended up spending more and more time together and Lacy's true nature was revealed. She was a boisterous soul who loved to drink and had several men on the go. Lacy dragged Emerald into her dark world, Emerald getting drawn in further and further to the intoxicating temptations present. Not long after the girls met, Lacy revealed herself as a vampire. Enthralled by the new world Lacy had introduced her to, Emerald begged to be turned. A few months later, Lacy gave in and turned Emerald. The two parted ways a few decades later, and Emerald now wanders the Earth looking for companionship, and for some sort of stability.
