As long as you remain honest to those things, it doesn't matter what you wear or what name you go by, because... you'll always be my son.." – Deborah Kelly to Chris Two traits of Chris Kelly that have been prominent for most his life have been his positive view on humanity and his self-loathing of not being completely normal. Chris strongly believes that feelings such as compassion are synonymous to the human race, and thinks humans are, on the whole, noble beings. Chris has often expressed a desire to be human once again and disdain towards his Vampire making, probably because he feels his biology hinders his humanity despite several people telling him that humanity is more than biology. This self-loathing is probably why Chris internalizes situations and believes everything is his fault or revolves around him in some fashion. It deeply affects him when his loved ones suffer because of his secret, as he fails to consider that people who love him would willingly suffer for him and instead blames himself for any trouble that befalls them. He considers knowing his secret a burden to bear that puts the secret-keeper in danger. He often feels guilt about things over which he had no control and, because of this, does not consider himself a good person. It may also explain part of his constant fear of sharing his secret, assuming that he won't be accepted for what he is because he is not comfortable with himself. Chris also struggles with the fact that he cannot save every endangered person and, as such, feels that his heroic deeds are inadequate. This inferiority complex also extends to how Chris feels about his own race, since he was quick to judge that Vampires were evil until discovering that they, like humans, were capable of love and compassion as well as hate and evil, his own father having been a respected Bitten Vampire who had his world's best interests at heart. Chris has made some improvements toward accepting who he is, expressing gratefulness for his abilities and taking pride in his compassion for the human race, which he views as a strength. However, recent events have caused Chris to abruptly change his mind about his compassionate side, and he now feels like caring too much for humans limits his ability to save them. Chris is idealistic and has the ability to always find the good in people, which manifests itself into a willingness to trust others to a fault. No matter how much pull his vampire destiny has over him he refuses to drain a human, So most of the time he will be weak unless he was able to get a blood bag as such. Background: Chris was born in a city known as Liverpool, Which is located within the United Kingdom, He had a very typical childhood, he made friends very easily and always entertained family and friends with his little versions of heroics (He once climbed a tree to rescue a stuffed teddy for a complete stranger whom lived in the same street as himself.) As time went on he learnt more about life and what it meant to grow up, his father vanished without any signs on 12th May 1993, This made Chris the man of the house and with that responsibility laid upon him the skills and maturity of a adult, even though he was only a child at the time, his mother’s unquenchable thirst for answers about his disappearance led to a hard life in poverty, as any income to the household went on flyers and private detectives. None of whom found any trace of his whereabouts. Chris attended school and went on to university, he was going to study Medicine, his obsession for helping people drove him onto passing most of his exams with flying colours, that was until he himself vanished from the human sector and became a creature of the night, This made him beg the question about his father and if whatever had happened to him had happened to his father. Still to this day that question has never been answered, He kept his distance from his family now mostly all of whom believe him to be dead. Witnessing his own funeral had to be one of the most harrowing experiences of his life, well what life was left. He learnt of most of his destiny by himself, lost and confused with an unquenchable thirst for blood his journey is far from over and the questions that haunt him will soon rise to the surface. Anything else: Though bitten and needing blood to survive Chris has never harmed a human intentionally, when he was first turned his quench for blood led him on a dark path, once he learnt about blood bags and his own mortality he began to control himself and use this curse for good.
