I get the same questions over and over again.
Why did I make this song? What was the intention for it?

Well, I'll make detailed descriptions of my songs here.

-- work in progress --

Info about the Gothrixus songs (in no particular order):

Gothrixus - 8-Bit Shrooms
I got sick of playing on my Nintendo (go figure), so I made a tribute song to 8-bit sounds.
The 8-bit sounds are minimal, I know, but that's not the point. =]

Gothrixus - Tale Of 2 Cities
I only had loads of work with clipping with this one. Had some problems, but I got them all out.
FL's "Delay Bank" is some piece of crap. Never using it again, but then again, I said that last year as well.

Gothrixus - Arctical Insemination
Since I had different themes already concerning ambient music, I wanted something more ocean'ish.
More of an arctic ocean sound. The mastering, again, isn't perfect, but whatcha gonna do? :p

Gothrixus - Out Of Lines
I don't remember what made me start this song.
The project was started more than a month ago, and I just finished it today. (2008-04-11)
I do know this one of the more fun "ambiental" songs I did so far.
Somehow it reminds me of the movie "The Shining", and originally there were samples of that same movie included.
The mastering could be a hell lot better, but I work the way I know I can, so no use pointing that out again. =)

Gothrixus - Rainforest In My Head
Another ambient'ish song. I just wanted to create a rainforest atmosphere, and I think I succeeded.
I hope ya'll enjoy.

Gothrixus - Cultural Habbits
African singing, Indian sitars, accoustic guitars, power guitars, and electronics ... what more do you want?

Gothrixus - And Two (And One spoof)
And One, a famous bands with a shitload of album releases. Most of you have heard of this German bunch.
And One should be respected, however: don't you think all their songs sound alike?
It's good that a band has their own "sound" or "feel" to their songs, but it gets ridiculous with And One.
Therefore, I made this 'spoof' on all of And One's songs.

Gothrixus - When Dawn Arrives
This is a play between dark and light.
This ambiental piece of work shows how a dark period fades into a brighter era.
Right before the song hits half of its playtime, the transition starts.
It ends with a nice pianoplay.

Gothrixus - Nuclear Butterfly
After finally seeing the Silent Hill movie, and hearing its incredible soundtrack,
I decided to try something more ambient, darker. I had to use those air raid sirenes.
The distant crow sounds reminded me and a few friends of how real this song sounds.
This song convinced "Resurrection Studios", a game company responsible for the famous Postal 2 horror mod "Eternal Damnation",
to use me as their soundtrack composer for future games/mods.

Gothrixus - Eternity Has Time
I think everyone will agree that Eternity really has time.
This song here was made a few days after "Nuclear Butterfly". Hence the differences though.
It has more electronic sounds over it, and it suits it.
The rain fx, thunder and lightning sounds, combined with certain electronic sounds gave me the shivers.
When Gothrix gets shivers, he knows it's good.

Gothrixus - Aussieloscope
Psychedelic trance, but as I see it.
Psytrance takes its time to built up, but it's always worth it. The further the song hows, the more I start playing with detuned sounds.
And this one is dedicated to a friend of mine called Ryan Smith. This ugly piece of Australian man spent 3 months in Belgium last summer.

Gothrixus and Ozzma - Private Slut (Instrumental Cut)
For the impatient ones amongst you, the Instrumental Cut of the song is done, and about time too. Normally I don't do requests, but I made an exeption for once.
Private Slut (here at VF) asked me to do a song for her and I agreed. AND I also got Ozzma to tag along.

Gothrixus - A Drunk Trainride
I got my inspirations from the psychedelic goa scene. Goa is an interesting genre, and I wanted to do something with it. I said something...
So yeah, I tried to create some psychedelic sounds with a 4/4 beat and some simple percussion. After some test renders I added 3 extra synths for leads, and put the psychedelic sounds on the background because the song was sounding too childish otherwise.
The title is something personal, because a few weeks ago I've spent long hours on different trains, and as I were driving back home I was drunk as hell.
The sample "I'm going to get you Mottie" was recorded because when I sent the first render of the song to Mottie, she thought the song was scary and freaked out. So I added her name via some samples, to scare the shit out of her. And guess what, I succeeded. :D

Clinical Torment - The Scalpel and the Whore (SerialKiller remix by Gothrixus)
This was quite a hard one. To do a remix of a hitsong of an artist who was murdered back in 2004, when he was 18 years old.
I wanted to show my grief to his close friends and family by making this remix.
Chad Miller, you'll be missed.

The Other Side
Do you know Velvet Acid Christ - Dark Lights? This is something like it, but much better. Ask around, you'll have to believe me.
I wrote this one when I was feeling really sad one day.

Hot Pursuit (V.2)
Monolith, a Belgian project with at least 4 albums out by now. It's an easy genre but catchy. This song is something exactly like it.
Info: I've gotten the samples out of Need For Speed: Most Wanted. I've made them myself by actually playing the game.
Info: 'Monolith' also works with Dirk Ivens (from 'Dive') and their project is called 'Sonar'.
