Si vous aimez quelqu'un, laissez-les vont. S'ils retournent, ils étaient toujours ŕ vous. S'ils ne font pas, ils n'étaient jamais

I have never been clever in defining myself using a series of words. Maybe it's not based on how clever I am, rather, that I feel most words cannot compare to my existence. I wish I was creative in this respect but It doesn't matter, in the end, what clever adjectives I use to describe my existence to you..rather, how I want you to view my existence. Writing about oneself is an allowance to negate ones horribly disinteresting and unappealing qualities and replace them with identifiable emotions so that the greater number of people can idolize attributes. In doing this one has the chance of coming across almost fictional in narration, villain or hero. I can define myself in keywords: masochist, lush, tease, nerd, introvert, etc but all are so mundane in comparison to the way they all come together"We realized that the version of the world they rendered for us was not the version of the world they really believed in..."Two is the number of people who truly know my ins and outs: How vicious I can be and how delicate. I am a throwback in love with being in love, unrequited as it is. I am not affiliated with any subculture nor do I partake in bandwagon causes or ideals. Leading a very monotonous life when the sun is up brought to pass a unconventional night life as well as consistently postponed but just as sincere future arrangements. Pending the recession ceases to ruin my financial state any time soon. I am pursuing a degree in Visual Anthropology which at present is a top priority. Conversation is a forte by nurture, not preference, but don't hesitate to start one.

We all perform. It's what we do for each other all the time, deliberately or unintentionally. It's a way of telling about ourselves in the hope of being recognized as what we'd like to be.
-Richard Avedon

I was having an issue, as noted above, with the whole "about me" concept. I recently joined Examine where members ask questions so I figured I would put them here and update them as more are asked of me:

Are you a fan of the '60s?
I've actually always felt I was born in the wrong decade. Being more of a free spirit with the "free love" mentality I feel I would have been best suited as a child in the '60s, teen in the '70s, and so on. Janis Joplin is one of my favorite musicians as well as Johnny Cash and I could definitely partake in a few bra burnings ;D. Not to mention the experimentation with lifestyles and drugs was at an all time high and I love the opportunity to try something new.
Why is your username 'ChapterSeven'?
The username comes from a longtime obsession with the number seven. It fascinates me that it represents the list of carnal indulgences as well as a "holy" number of completion and the representation that you almost cannot have one without the other. Chapter is just used to define my place in time as a mere chapter in everything that has been and will be realized in the world. It may be somewhat existential at the core but I have yet to contemplate explaining it on that level.
Have you ever thought of running outside naked without being dared to?
I've never thought about that particularly though I have ended up naked in a few public settings without much thought of it until afterward. I do always get this inane moments where I am talking to someone that isn't more then an acquaintance(or teacher even) and I just wonder what would happen if I did something completely inappropriate like kiss them or hit them. That might be a mental issue I have to get checked out though I think it is natural to want to push the bounds sometimes.
Do you change your mind often?
Once my mind is made up I am very stubborn in changing it. The process of making up my mind, however, is a very tedious one. I often rely on asking people to pick a hand for even the most mundane life choices.
How old are you?
I am 21. What I consider to be the best age in the U.S.
Where are you from?
I was born and raised in Pennsylvania. I spent most of my life in the suburbs of Philadelphia but I am in the heart of it all now and have been for 3 years.
What do you want to accomplish, professionally speaking?
My primary career goal is to be a Visual Anthropologist, more specifically, a photojournalist. I would love to travel the world studying cultures, photographing them for a magazine like National Geographic. I have always been an observer and have never divulged deeply into any culture, religion, or subculture so the study of all three amazes me. It's all really beautiful how people develop a way of living.
Do you have an accent?
Everyone has an accent to someone that isn't from that area, so yes! It's a hint of brooklyn(from my mother), with a hint of french(from my father), mixed with whatever Pennsylvanians(east pennsylvanians) sound like to people.
Do you like living in Pennsylvania?
As much as I love my plans for travel I have to say Pennsylvania is one of the best U.S. states. We have a little of everything: country, city, woodland and for the most part we're intelligent. We have a lot of interesting towns from a photographic standpoint like the old oil towns and Centralia(which has literally been burning from underground since 1962). We're only missing a beach...unfortunately the closest one is jersey..
Do you eat junk food often?
I absolutely love junk food but I never eat it because I try to maintain a healthy weight and lifestyle. I shouldn't say never...I rarely eat it. I do get in moods where all I want is a cheeseburger and candy and nothing keeps me from it.
Do you like asking questions?
haha, of course! I'm an extremely curious individual. I sometimes ask to many, though I do understand that sometimes questions are better left unasked. When it gets very personal sometimes you have to learn when curiosity becomes prying.
If you had a choice, would you be a girl or a boy?
I would DEFINITELY choose to be a girl. I love being a girl, how you can be tough and delicate and there is no scrutiny in either. Plus, I love dresses and while if i was a guy I could be a drag queen or transvestite it would not have the same appeal to me. While there are definite "downfalls" to being a woman, especially in the corporate world, I think we are the more versatile gender.
Say if you could have children would you rather; Adopt or go through IVF?
Well, I was adopted and from a family who didn't want me by a family that couldn't have children on their own and loved me more then I could ever imagine. IVF is a great option for couples but I don't think it would ever be to me. For some reason it seems less personal then adoption and I'd always feel the presence of a third party there more so then in adoption. I've never really put a lot of thought into having children though so I guess I wouldn't really know until confronted with the idea.
What is your actual name?
Stephanie Victoria
Did you have a 21st birthday party? If so, did you drink at it?
I did not. I was, however, at a bar the night of and got extremely trashed and sang along with some Niel Diamond even though I didn't know the words. Not my most shining moment but fun nevertheless.
What is the most ridiculous thing you've ever done?
I guess it would have to be based on your morals and how much you have experienced. I've played(and lost) strip poker, broken into a hotel to swim at 1 am, done every drug I come across..most fun being acid from a guy named Mike in the park near me though the most eye opening had to be the night I mixed downers with shrooms, drank hard liquor from 11:30 am til 11:30 pm, generally everything I do when intoxicated. And it's not the most ridiculous in my eyes(and though there is a list, the most ridiculous is probably something I don't remember) breaking into an abandoned WW2 factory and exploring all the levels with the molds for tanks and chemical vials was the most exciting.
How do you personally define good versus evil?
This is actually a hard question for me because there are so many exceptions to any statement I have. Basing everything on a general level of speaking would be leaving out important aspects, but I will try. I think everyone has the quintessential "good" and "bad" side. The stereotypical angel on one shoulder and demon on the other. It's human nature in my opinion as no one is infallible so we are bound for mistakes that may seem to have evil intentions. I definitely think the two are more prominent in groups then individually. One persons annoyance is just that, an annoyance, but when they have the support of many who share the same annoyance it becomes a hatred and grows into an evil emotion causing genocide, racism, etc that grow for years past the few who it all began with. Because of such hatred groups are created to combat it creating societies good and evil. This is not to say that individuals on their own cannot commit vial acts toward others, as I am witness to this daily . It is such a complex ideal that I don't think I will ever be able to sum it up.
Should the death penalty be legal?
Another very gray area question to me. I think with tangible, undeniable evidence harsh punishment is definitely required but not necessarily the death penalty. I use to believe it was the right thing to do. If anyone I love was killed I would want justice. At my hands, or someone else's but people can change. It's from a very Buddhist inspired standpoint that I can somehow see forgiveness being an option. Though, however much I have changed my thought on forgiveness I do think the taxpayers should not be in charge of keeping prisoners alive, especially in nicer living conditions then my own. I'm sorry, I'm pretty exhausted, I may come back after a nap and rethink these questions.
Have you ever considered being a model?
I have had the desire to, but never anything really serious. I have been told I can and should by old classmates and friends but I don't know how I would emotionally withstand the face paced and sometimes cruel world of modeling.
What was your favorite subject in school?
My favorite subject in school was always history. I just love absorbing as much information about the past and old cultures. It plays a large part in my interest with anthropology. I'm fascinated by the world and both the major and minor players in it.
What was your favorite childhood game?
I always had fun venturing out into the woods and imagining I was in another world. But for standard games, I'd have to say anything that involved running around: most likely freeze tag. I've often wondered why as we grow up we lose interest in such things. Also, I wonder what would happen if i just tagged someone relaxing in the part, screamed "your it," and ran off. I'd be great to start a massive game of it again.
Do you like flannel pajamas?
I don't like them, I LOVE them. As far as sober fun goes, curling up in a pair of flannel PJs watching old horror movies tops the list of things I enjoy. I get at least one new pair of flannel pjs around the holiday season. I'm actually wearing black and white flannel bottoms right now! haha.
Who is your fave actress? I really enjoy most of the work Kate Winslet is in as well as her persona outside of film.
Why did you decide to post all the questions and answers that you're recieved/given in a scroll box on your profile? Are you going to keep doing so?
I've always had trouble opening up about myself on a blank palette. The questions generate some insight to myself that I couldn't conjure up on my own. They definitely portray a sense of emotion and personality. And as long as they are interesting questions I will keep it up.
lipgloss or lipstick?
Definitely lipstick. I've never been quiet lipstick person so when I wear it it better be bold and it better stay on!
What's an embarrassing moment?
I once ended up 7 floors up from my apartment on a drunken night in my old dorms blacking in and out and not being in much of any control of myself. I was told I was not a pretty site though I don't recall most of it.
Do you kiss on the first date?
I've never done "dates" but the first time I really get to know someone it just depends on how things go. I'm not against it and I don't have any set list of rules on when I do certain things in relationships.
can you sing or play any instruments?
I can sing, although alto. I play violin, piano, and guitar for personal preference and also played flute, baritone, saxophone, oboe and piccolo.
Pirates or ninjas?
Always ninjas. They are cleaner, sexier, stealthier and just more appealing. Plus I've always wanted to be an assassin.
You believe in Nirvana?
I do believe in Nirvana but I also believe it is an almost unachievable task. You need to sustain complete peace within yourself to even start achieving Nirvana and it's not an everyday ability. We all have those moments of pure bliss and peace but the are just that, moments. You have to have the ability to feel that exact same way for the rest of your life without any passions beyond Nirvana itself.
What's your favorite drink?
Alcoholic: Vodka/ Cranberry or Yuengling(a Pennsylvania based beer)
Non-alcoholic: Green Tea
do you go to the gym?
I use to quite frequently but it is a little too expensive for my budget right now so it is on inactive and I do pilates at home along with minor weight lifting to tone my arms. I have to combat all the drinking I do somehow haha.
What's the weirdest thing you've ever done?
I think the weirdest things I do are sometimes in my mannerisms. I eat sandwiches in a circle cause I think ending a burger or sandwich on bite of mostly bread is horrible. I would say anything I do while high but with the amount of drug users in the world most statements would be mundane.
