Lauren Krothe's powerful and unique songs, which she describes as "classically inspired gypsy ballads," have begun turning heads throughout the underground music community. Her piano-driven sound and fearless delivery are reminiscent of such cutting edge performers as Kate Bush, Amanda Palmer and Tori Amos. Lend her your ear for just a moment and you'll find you've fallen under her spell.
Lauren has written over 80 songs for piano and voice. Her debut full-length album, child of babylon, will be released in fall of 2012. The i'm not afraid of the dark single (2009) was self-released exclusively on laurenkrothe.com. Lauren's unreleased back catalogue includes tortured love songs (1998), soul orbit (2000), this i know (2006) and have yourself a merry little christmas (2008).
Also a member of internationally renowned industrial rock group Panzer AG (side project of Combichrist and Icon of Coil frontman Andy LaPlegua), Lauren’s backing vocals are featured on several tracks of their latest Metropolis Records release, Your World Is Burning, as well as the track “Gateway” on the Accession Records Vol. 3 compilation. She provides live keyboards and backing vocals for the band and has headlined shows with Panzer AG in Atlanta, Nashville, New York City, Edinburgh, London, Köln, the 2010 Gothic Cruise, and Kinetik Festival 2012.
Other noteworthy collaborations: Aesthetic Perfection (piano for "All Beauty Destroyed") Aperture Burn (vocals for "New Sight") Uberbyte (vocals for "Summertime") The Synthetic Dream Foundation (vocals for "Forevermore") Libertine (vocals for "Wasted Youth")
