I'm going to write a badass blues song, with a Metalocalypse reference in the title. Because I'm a boss. It's going to be called Dump That Bitch (In Front of a Train), and the chorus will have everyone in the place yelling, "DUMP THAT BITCH IN FRONT OF A TRAIN!"
A good mother must have the purest of hearts, fashioned from the hands of the gods themselves and you have one of gold mother, for it is a prodigious heart that beats not for the ego, but beats for the linkage of family. Your gift of love is always pressed upon me with an earnestness which I would take no denial. Your love is pure and untarnished by selfishness, and your wealth of hopeful words and endless courage will always dry up the springs of sorrow in my heart. No longer do you lead me to believe that all the evil things in the world have full sway. Mom, your face never grows wantonly or carnal, or inspirited in any way.
When I’m down, you always open your arms unthinkingly, your pity is of an infinitesimal type. The motherly gene makes you rise above those small matters whenever your mother spirit is invoked and always will it cease my sobs. With you, there is no disguise of emotion, no other woman could provide the sympathy of one’s own mother, and no one but a mother could help a man when he is in trouble of the heart. Only in the presence of you mom do I feel free to break down and express my feelings on the tender or emotional side without feeling it derogatory to my manhood.
Please Mom, if the time comes when the sunshine may break in your life, or find that your heart bleeds, please do not call upon me in vain, I'll always be there for you.]
I can't speak for her but I don't think I am stronger for it. I feel that a better family could have lessen my opportunities to fall in anxiety and depression.
My mom is a sweetheart to her friends and family. When she's in a good mood, she's pretty nice to us (her daughters) and my dad, but she rarely is in a good mood so I've always felt like we have to tip toe around her to avoid waking the dragon my parents divorced recently after 24 years of marriage, so now I'm taking my dad's place, so to speak. I just want to get out of here But anyway, she's my mom and of course she has done good stuff for me. I don't take her comments too seriously, 'cause I know she's a human being and we all have our reasons to be shitty to other people Anyway, what a great woman your mom seems to be! I'm happy you have such a nice person in your life (: I hope you two had a cool mother's day together and you sir, take care of your mommy <3
This is truly beautiful A! I'm sure you brought her to tears and if you didn't see it then I'm sure she waited until you were gone. Your mom must be an incredible woman..just look at how well you turned out to be! You both are very lucky to have each other <3
Malk, I too was depressed and hampered by my anxiety for many years; and I have a pretty supportive family. Hehh...Don't feel so bad Lili, I'm also playing man of the house. And it can get annoying I know. I just try to focus on the positives and realize I'm trading one set of circumstances for the other. Could always be worse. And thank you BTW, I hope you two have a great day as well. And yeah, I will (:C! You're a gem. Thanks for saying that. (: I usually write poems in her cards, or just write a lot. And my mother isn't really that sensitive when it comes to poems like that. She'll like it, and then cry later when she's alone. Heh.
Without a neighbor bitching about their bullshit 4 foot patch of grass being pissed on. The weather is getting warmer and everyone is seeding their grass. So far, almost everyone who lives within 2 blocks of me has asked me to walk my dog somewhere else, and I basically have to walk him in the street. Problem is, he's a small dog, and is very skittish when it comes to passing cars. Also, he holds his business in until he finds a patch of grass or a tree or a pole- and so walking him in the street is a waste of time; other than still offering a way to get him some exercise.
Anyways...I decided to walk him on another block today and some old hag opened her window and shouted - "Go let your dog shit somewhere else"! This was a person I never met before, and she just cursed at me like that, no courtesy or civility whatsoever; and on top of that, there were young kids playing ball just a few houses down and she cursed in front of them. But besides that, don't curse at someone you don't know and only because my dog was going on her sidewalk, which isn't even hers to begin with. It's public property. Just because they maintain the grass doesn't make it theirs. Anyways....I gritted my teeth and said "I'm picking it up"! (Like I always do) She then says "I don't care, get him out of there"! I just laughed at her and said "Are you having a bad day"? She just stood speechless, and didn't respond. I tipped my hat and walked away. I swear, I lived in Brooklyn for 20 years and had dogs my whole life; never have neighbors complained before like they do where I live now. People here are just so prissy and judgmental; time to move I think.
Oh I never wanted to mean that you let your dog piss on other people's stuff And I am sorry to hear that the dogpark is so far away, it would have been a smart solution if it was close to your place And well, we have a good waste collection to do at home (and most public areas): paper and plastic, organic waste and regular garbage (which in the end is probably only sanitary napkins and cat's litter in my house) For the other stuff: glass has to be inserted in the appropriate bells shaped bins while electronic materials, iron etc. have to be delivered to the landfill where you divide the stuff for materials so that what's recyclable (iron, aluminum, etc.) will have a new life.
Yeah...yeah Chiara.... If you were that old lady you would have chased me down the street with a broom! lol. That's interesting. Here...we mainly divide the garbage into cardboard, glass and plastic receptacles. And a new rule is going into effect soon regarding electronics. We won't be able to throw them out anymore and they must be taken to designated bins for proper disposal.
I don't mind people walking their dogs as long as they don't piss on my stuff (fence is ok, grass too, trees and so on) and pick the poo up to trash, but that is common sense, I mean no one likes to step on dog poo But yeah I remember I put the shopping bags down as I was coming back home and went to him yelling at his face. I can't stand rudeness like this, and all was because he was at his smartphone not paying attention to his dog.
yeah first 10' if no sidewalk ov any property (as I'm sure you know) -fence or no fence -is owned by the town/city etc. -and just like the electronics thing -people/govrnment/biz. just see what they can get away with -and pull wool over peoples eyes. -I would never throw away electronics -or turn them over to the state -etc. before first putting an ad on craigs list -or finding by walking about -someone (in need) who would take the time to scrap it and make some $ from the valuables inside. hence why "they" don't want people putting such things out -for poor people to find and make cash from
Ok then...I take that back Anton. I don't want to move to staten Island anymore! lolI think you handled it a lot better than I would've. Her attitude was repulsive and uncalled for. My sister goes through that and more when she walks her adorable pitbull. You should see the look on these people's faces. It's moments like these when I wish that her sweet dog would charge and rip their eyeballs out. That'll give them something to be scared about I'm glad you shut her up!
Star Trek never been a big fan of the original. Next Generation is my favorite! I also like Voyager and Deep Space Nine. I like Star Wars, but I've never been able to get into it as much as Next Generation. I can spend hrs upon hrs and days upon days watching Next Generation their SciFi space theories are really great.
I always been a Star Wars fan and you know I didn't get into Star Trek until just recently so being that I'm not yet done watching all of Star Trek.. it's too soon to pick Trek over Star Wars In Star Trek, DS9 is my favorite thus far.
The coolest science fiction movie posters of the 80s

Wrath of Khan and Blade Runner were my favorites. Two of the best films ever made. And they're not just science fiction films either. Brazil takes the bronze medal for me.
starfighter i like trek and star wars but my favorites in those series aren't up there. on star wars i like them in order of 6, 3, 2, 5, 4, 1 (i know not traditional). favorite trek I'd have to say is tng generations
Oh I'm a huge fan of Space Odyssey! I had my mind on movies from the 80's for some reason..all the ones I grew up watching. Odyssey was I believe a 68' film. And hey Malk I agree with your star wars picks. Ep. 6 got me into it all. I was 6 y/o at the time. And overall I'm a TNG fan over TOS but not when it comes to the movies...just the series.
At work tonight, I was going through my music library, looking for something to listen to. My boss yells at me from across the hallway, "D-RO (what the dudebro fratboy calls me, a shortening of my name, Dustin Roberts), WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING ON YOUR PHONE?!?!"
Apparenty, "TEXTING YOUR GIRLFRIEND, FOOL!" wasn't a good answer.
The New Moon is a powerful cosmic event, which represents the start of a new emotional cycle. In the conjunction of Sun (Father) and Moon (Mother), compatibility is created between our will (Sun) and our heart (Moon). ‘What we need’ harmonizes nicely with ‘who we are’, which helps to enable us to reach deep within our very core, to empower true potential. We are blessed with a new emotional beginning, and we must service ourselves first, before we can truly be of service to others. The New Moon provides us with this magical timing, so that we may create new opportunities for ourselves. We are encouraged to dream up our most ultimate needs and private desires. So go ahead and create your fantasy. Dream the impossible dream. Make a wish. Have a conversation with yourself. Ask yourself questions. Eventually you’ll be answering yourself, with more questions. This helps to refine and finesse your most truest intention. The more that we involve ourselves in conjuring up our thoughts with connected feelings – the more we can figure out what we want, and what we need. By the time that we determine what it is that we have been actually seeking, we will already begin to cast seeds of our intentions into the universe.
The New Moon is the ideal time to embark on a new inner journey of the soul. The energy is quite potent as strong forces brew. Be sure to carefully write down goals, to design ‘well-planned’ intentions. Doing this will help to avoid any confusions, but will also show us how we can appreciate what we have received, in regards to what we expressed. This sort of goes along the lines of ‘be careful what you wish for, because you just may get it’. Create new intentions to re-adjust sensitivities, so that we can re-adjust our approach. Pursue an inner shift that creates a brand new chapter, so that a new ending may be written for our story. So go ahead, and make a wish, state your affirmation, and set your intentions. And remember to stay practical and grounded, by dedicating real energy and time into the weeks ahead – by working WITH the heavens.
As we participate with these powerfully creative and dark vibrations, great knowledge can be manifested. If we all would become a little more aware of who we actually are (and what we have brought to the table), we could actually be more a little more conscious of what we are creating in our workplace, our relationships, and our world. But we must first come to terms, by putting the past behind us; from outcomes, reactions, opinions, to assumptions. None of it matters anymore – and it shouldn’t – because the past doesn’t exist. Whatever restrictions or struggles that we have come up against, had developed from our own weakness. Find a way to improve flaws. Accept that you are part of the problem, to become part of the solution. Evolve.
But in this dark lunar phase, life will become more quiet and reserved. In this stillness, it is not uncommon for many of us to feel more irritable, sensitive, sluggish, or uncomfortable if we stray from our comfort zone. It is a kind reminder that encourages us to take better care of ourselves and our needs. ‘As above, so below’. Just as Luna has an effect on the earth’s tides, the fluids of our brain and body are also affected. ‘As within, So without’. Remember to replenish and hydrate to keep balance. We can also start with some inner energy healing, by releasing trapped toxins and stressful tension by creating a source of constant inner flow to to our inner sacred temple. And while it is always important to talk with your physician first, I personally always work with some of the basics:
Improve fitness and sleep schedule, for better rest.
Include more fruits and vegetables to diet, for better brain and body heath.
Quench body’s thirst with water, water, and more water.
Meditate daily. Center within, to ‘come home’.
Basic New Moon Meditation
I always encourage an investment of our time and energy. Just ten minutes can make a difference if we are being true to our self. When we can temporarily become one with our self, our inner voice will speak in great volumes. This allows the universe to tune in and listen too. Wear comfortable clothes if necessary and create a comfy spot for your quiet minutes. Quiet music can be of assistance, as well as incense, candles, stones, photographs, jewelry, flowers, mirrors, affirmations, and whatever else you might find useful to create this for yourself. Last, know your dream, to reach your dream.
Start with eyes closed, while slowly just paying attention to your breath. Just take your time. There is no rush. Quiet distractions around you, by closing your eyes and ears to the outside world. Once settled and comfortable, quietly consider the place where you are right now in your life, whether good or ‘not so good’. It’s a time to accept your present situation, only right now at this moment. Center on your inner energy only, aware of how far your heart has traveled to reach this point in your life. Inhale: creativity. Exhale: possibilities.
Continuing to take slow, deep breaths. Embrace this quiet place within you, and do it in a way that you can remember how to reach it again. This is where your serenity and inner peace exists. Allow yourself to feel an inner flow, while visualizing a gentle movement that leads you toward a new path. Breathe deeply, be flexible, and let your mind, body, and spirit be romanced and swayed with inner waves. Surrender to a new stream of purity and healing. Inhale: creativity. Exhale: possibilities.
Homework: Sunshine for the Soul
You know what matters? Positivity. We can become actively involved and create a luscious green lawn, or we can complain about the weather and settle with crabgrass. Attract sunshine, or Attract rot. When negativity strikes, think positive. How? Be appreciative for the simple things in life. Show gratitude for the air you breathe, the water you drink, and for the sunshine and shelter that keeps you warm and protected.
Evidently, I'm a "fatass" now. Someone accused me of being fat and 50 years old... Oh yeah. I'm CLEARLY morbidly obese, and quite obviously going through my midlife crisis.
I get that I look older than I am, but come on, 50? Someone needs an eye exam.
Seeing as how I'll be 21 on May 3 (I was born in 1992), my slanderer was off by just a pinch.
Well, seeing as how I'm obviously fat and old, I'm going to read a newspaper in my bathrobe and yell at kids to get off my lawn. Take care, everyone.
It would appear to be much more emotive once I couple it with my title. I still haven't decided on a title though. And if anyone can think of a book title that would fit in with the image, feel free to post. I welcome all suggestions.
Isn't it? I wished it was vertical, but I'm going to have to design something for it. As for the theme of my book, well, let's just say our beloved BSG is my primary influence. And I'm thinking about calling it "Goodbye Earth" or "The Last Overseer"
That is exactly what I planned as a matter of fact. A quote that is mentioned at the very end of the book. The important thing is that it should be catchy.
