I made a paypal account a few weeks ago, went through all of the tedious steps, and was hoping to go ahead with my online purchases. I started with trying to get a premium membership, I waited 6-8 business days to put 20 dollars into my paypal account, since I've only connected my bank account, and as it turns out, even through the paypal option, vampirefreaks only accepts those connected with credit cards. God. Damn. It.
We as a virtual society are very interesting:
We harass each other and get all but hurt when people get angry at us or call us stalkers.
We put rules to avoid virtual crimes but frown upon when someone tries to police and enforce these rules.
We have let things such as viruses and malicious code, things we have created not nature, to exist, to harm us and in some sence "kill our life".
We haze and allow people to haze the black in white that is our laws and then are like "omg" when they brake it or when the victims are us.
And we forget to teach our children & friends to respect others and be respected by others (in a proper manner) as well as the values that was tought to us when we where young.
We have been so worried about rites and protecting our privileges that we have let the bad side of our society get the better of this new medium that is the virtual world.
and the the individuals with power (hackers, governments ext. yata yata) we bath in such power and dont use it for better good.
Granted many of us would say to this "why should i care?" or "its not my responsibility" or something that pushes the blame off of us as an individual
and true as an INDIVIDUAL we are blameless. But we have a responsibility as co-citizens of the amazing virtual world that we are now a part of to protect ourselves and the well-being of other people and other people have the responsibility to do the same. Cause the difference between this world and the "real world" is that the internet has no actual boundaries, anybody can connect to it. Even with the restrictions that some domains have people can stalk, harass, steal, and blackmail or any other "illegal or unmoral" act from any part of the world (even in our so-called "third world countries)
Now some people will say to this "i try to help, i report this i report that" or in our ethical hacker's case "i am very active in countering cyber-terrorism" those people i applaud respect all your efforts. But my fellow there are to few of you to stop it... and to be honest we need mor then a couple hundreds, thousands, and now million of people (we do live in a world of over 7 billion people now) to be conscious of the sickness that is polluting our virtual world. A sickness that even a 13 or less can be a part of. But again thank you people for you dedication and active support.
maybe your actions will better changes in our virtual future.
I think that we all should put in our grain. From the mr/mrs goody goody to the devils/devilgirls, from the "huh what a domain" to the "i speak 01010101010101", from the "government" to the "people", from me to you.
sigh*
you know on military computers personnel cant go to VF cause the site uses servers that uses ports that can be used for malicious attacks... even my favorite website isn't safe anymore. Hell i see now fake profiles popping up now... our dear Vampire Freaks is now tainted with stalkers and virtual predators that originally where just on MySpace and Facebook (well now they are in ever forum you can possibly ever use).
Sad thing is is am guilty to fomenting to this evil... i visit sites like XVIDEO.com; i press like on all those groups on FB... i should report these malicious places or try to create consciousness against them but i don't and i apologies to all of you. What saddens me even more is that i know i wont do anything to change it... and if i wont fight this evil then how can i expect the world around me to do the same...
This just adds to the problems of the "real world"....
it just got me thinking...
were are we headed to?
how will we get up from the hole we are building?
will we have the strength to get up? or in my case, will we want to?
i feel this sickness is yet an other epic fail of our part, of my part, and in time of your part as well

I saw myself as more, no, i am more then that.
I am a sentient being, unique person, and entity that far surpasses that of so low life creature...
and yet why am i treated daily as such. And better yet why do i tolerate it?
One day, ill be in power; and when that happens ill change this world.
Sadly i can't tell if it will be for better or for worse...
why should i be proud? i dont see the benifits, only the people see it... and we in the armed forces dont get that much recognition... its small to what i think we desurve
