So I've been meaning to post this for a while, I've sat and blankly stared at it after completeing five pages. My inspiration has left me couple times and it would probably continue to leave me. BUT I managed to finish this.
This is on my shifter clans. The Romulus clan and Remus clan if you wish to join the clans I won't protest.
Thousands of years ago when the world was a blossoming flower and when its delicate balance was so pristine and intact there was a place somewhere in the outskirts of Paris. Far before men took over and began destroying the beautiful landscape there was a great mountain range where villages were hidden under the cool shadow of the canopies. There a mother gave birth to two young babes, but due to mothers only being able to have one boy and one girl after they married she had to get rid of them. She was a beautiful young woman so lively and so gentle with animals. It was said that this village had the gift to talk with a certain animal and then there were the lucky ones that could talk to all. She had this gift and no one knew and no one ever will.
On the night of the birth she gathered her twin boys and fled her simple village heading to the depths of the forests. Having just given birth she was a complete mess, her white dress bloodied and soiled by her water breaking hours ago. Her hair was matted and clung to her sweaty brow, her eyes wide and alert as they kept looking back for anyone to find her. She ran as far and as fast as her bare feet could take her and after hours of running in the dark and possibly in circles she found a cave dry enough for her to rest and maybe close her eyes. Going inside she retreated to the back of the cave in a dark corner she huddled her boys and hushed the fussiest one. She was hungry and knew her babes were too, but unfortunately she hadn’t thought if she was lactating or not.
The night was cold and the babes began crying from hunger, from sleep, and for not being properly bundled. The mother kissed them and made sure they clung to her full breasts filled of unused milk. In that moment she wished she had married and had that perfect family her village wanted, but no woman would dare have children out of wedlock nor would they have more than one gender. Closing her eyes as rain began to burst from the heavens she fell asleep soundly with her crying children. Hours seemed to pass slowly as the pitter-patter of the rain hit against the rocks, eventually the children fell asleep.
Morning soon found it’s way inside lighting the cave halfway and touching the mother’s feet with a soft kiss upon her dirty toes. The children began stirring and soon cried for their mother to feed them, but to the unfortunate chain of events the mother had passed during her sleep, her body tired and weak from the efforts of giving birth. The children seemed to sense something a miss in their surroundings and continued to cry even louder. Animals fled the cries unsure what the sound was, but they knew the stench of death and it was best to flee the scene soon before the predators gravitated to the scene. It didn’t take long for predators to come and prowl outside the cave the stench of rotting flesh causing them to drool, but the horrifying sounds causing them to hesitate.
A bright light shot down from the heavens and cleared the predators as a she wolf stood before them. The animals knew who she was for she tended to roam these parts, she was a goddess coined Lupa. The distress of the children had caught her attention and she kept and eye on them making sure nothing happen to them. Lupa had left the heavens out of boredom and because these babes called out to her like a mother would. Yet she had plans that she wanted to set into action, she wanted to prove that she was just as good as the other gods and goddesses she shared the heavens with. Lupa wasn’t a bad goddess she simply wanted to improve humanity and create something that even the gods themselves would be impressed. The goddess took it upon herself to take care of the boys; she stood before them in her luminous light and took them from their dead mother setting them only inches from her. Transforming to her she wolf form she stripped the mother of her clothing and began eating her. She did not waste any part of her; she ate ever last inch of her making sure that there was nothing that would go to waste. Licking her snout she approached the boys and licked them before whispering their given names their mother had thought for them. “Remus…” She whispered and licked the child on the left the one who instantly looked far more rebellious. “Romulus…” She said gently and kissed the one on the right who simply stared at her.
Years passed and Lupa raised two boys into adulthood successfully. Both were eighteen and thriving beautifully in the wild with their mother. Romulus was just as virile and enthusiastic as his twin, with the exception of his gentle heart and nurturing of all animals. Remus was darker in nature a bit more aggressive and demanding and he only held the gift of one animal, the wolf. On the night of their eighteen birthdays Lupa gathered the boys in the mouth of the cave where she had found them. There she offered both the gift of a lifetime, to stay human and live out their lives that they were meant to have and to eventually perish or to be human with the gift of the beasts. Remus the more adventurous agreed instantly and Romulus the most cautious took a moment to think about it. Lupa wouldn’t dare force them to something they wouldn’t agree too, but her words were persuasive enough to have Romulus thinking. After a bit of pressure and convincing from his youngest brother he agreed. Lupa smiled, a sweet wolfish grin as she approached both boys attacked them both. Her bite transferred the powers they were to receive and soon their genetic material began to chance.
Lupa asked a very important question: “What animal do you wish to become?” She watched them hold onto their wounds and stare at her with shocked expressions. She knew what they were thinking, because she would of thought the same thing if her mother attacked her. Remus looked at his older brother than back at his mother, “What?” He asked unsure what she meant and again she repeated the question. Remus blinked and breathed softly feeling lightheaded from the injury. Remus knew he liked the wolf, he’d watched them hunt in packs and the brute force and the way they stuck to each other and pushed past their boundaries to survive on their own was amazing to him. “A wolf.” He groaned quietly and leaned against his side-feeling faint from the blood loss. Soon he began writhing in pain and screaming once his bones began stretching, cracking, and popping in and out of place. It felt like his insides were being ripped from the inside out and wrapped and pulled at. The change didn’t take too long, but it felt like and eternity. There among the carnage of flesh, blood, and skin stood a might dark wolf staring at Lupa and Romulus.
Romulus found himself shocked and intrigued at the same time. Truth was that the older twin was scared of what he would become if he changed into a certain animal. “Son, what do you wish to become?” Lupa asked yet again as she stared at her terrified son. Romulus wasn’t great at thinking in the spot, especially with such a complicated question. He wanted time to think and formulate this. He was tempted by the wolf and admired them but knew that there was so much more than just that. So instead he gave the only answer that came to min in that moment. “All.” This impressed Lupa greatly and she bowed he head. “So be it my child.” Romulus stood there waiting for some kind of change to happen, but nothing happened and he frowned looking at his hands before his vision blurred. A gut wrenching scream erupted through the skies as the eldest brother kneeled and pounded his fists into the ground. Bombarding sounds of animals sounds made their way inside of him, he could feel their souls seep within him and take home inside. Lupa later that night explained in great detail of their new lives and how their animals work. It only took the thought of them and they would change into them. She went on to explain that they were the only two with this gift and no one else should receive it unless they find them worthy of taking on the gift or birthing of another.
Lupa smiled at her children shifting to her godly form and smiling at her boys. “I wish you the best in you futures and remember I will always watch over you. I bid you both farewell.” This was something the boys didn’t want they still needed their mother and wanted to be with her, but Lupa had done what she sought out to do. Leaving them and returning to the heavens the boys weren’t unsure of what to do other than venture into the nearby village.
Centuries passed since they had last seen Lupa they both lived in the village close to the cave where they last saw their mother. Romulus had decided to make a home for himself in the mountains of the west and Remus took up the east. They usually came down to the village for essentials, but with the need to shift every now and again they had to find shelter from seeing eyes. At their last meeting Romulus met his brother in a local bar and delivered the news that Remus would be an uncle. This displeased Remus, not because of what Romulus was soon to have, but because he always believed that Lupa had favored him above everything else. Hate seethed in the heart of the younger brother. Remus began distancing himself and eventually he waged war against his brother after a year. The need for it was simple; to destroy his brother’s happiness and show his clan that Romulus wasn’t the only powerful one. Taking night as their blanket they shifted into a small wolf pack and took over his brothers lands, taking all the values, resources, and women. Romulus never wanted a war let alone a feud with his brother and every time he tried to talk to his brother, but he would not have a word of it. Eventually Remus went too far and disrespected Romulus wife and children and something snapped in the kindred spirit.
Romulus had lost a lot of manpower most of the young cubs and men who were undergoing the change, but that did stop him. He had replenished all the lost men with easy transformations. Unlike his younger brother Romulus mated constantly, having children who shifted to every animal. These children grew and repopulated themselves making his clan vast and great in number. Not only did he used his seed to populate, but bit the villagers that came looking for him and under the right circumstances he could create new species.
Remus lost many wars like this until finally he figured out what his brother was up to and he too began the transformations with his own men. It took a few more centuries, but the wars settled and cities had been form by now and the human population began growing giving the brothers more access to humans. It caused a great shift in introducing the new species into the world; every shifter trickled down from the Romulus and Remus Clans causing a variety of men and women with great genetics.
The Romulus clan lived happy and a plentiful life ruling Paris along side the mountain range his brother Remus lived in. Romulus was immortal down to every fiber, but that didn’t stop Remus from waging the last Great War among the shifters and testing his brother yet again. On a gloomy afternoon the Remus clan, great in numbers shifted and ran to plan an ambush attack on the other clan. They took the land by storm killing the women and children first and disarming the men. Remus sought out a plan and figured if he took out the females then Romulus clan would cease to exist. Of course the great elder was too old and far too rusty for the war that he sent out his great nephew Remus Falconian, at the young age of seventeen the boy had proven to be exceptional. Of course he had to be since Aaron was a direct descendant of Remus himself.
Young Remus went through the plan the clan had carried out. Right there on the open in the middle of the plaza and in a crowded place Remus raised his bow and arrow tipped with ambrosia from the gods and released it. It landed with a loud thud followed by a loud groan and a crash of pottery and a body. The young pup stood there watching the guard race to kill him but Remus took them killing them in the process. Chaos broke out as the clan of the East came out from the shadows and attacked killing everything and everyone in the process. Remus fled though he didn’t get far as the young heirs confronted him and fought, all three boys shifting into wolf forms and attacking the black pup. All three bared teeth, snapped, bit, scratched, and sent fur flying everywhere. They inflicted wounds to their bodies that sure left scars, but no one took an upper hand because they were evenly matched. Nothing stopped them until the queen was attacked causing the other two boys to stop, glare at each other, spit hatred, and retreat.
Returning back to the mountains of the east the clan celebrated the destruction of Romulus the clan leader. Remus was happy knowing that his brother was finally dead and he had no one to compete against. The clan of the West suffered greatly their women taken out leaving a few, children were mauled and ripped apart, and men were left with injuries and some dead. They would need time to heal though it would be without consequences. For their women would never bear another female and the hate among the clans will still persist. After a few more years Remus the elder found himself unhappy with the turn of events. He killed his brother and a part of him knew he would suffer at the hands of his mother Lupa. In time the old man retired to the confines of his home wishing to turn back the past and change a few things, but the damage had been done.
Time passed and both clans began to heal and slowly the clan of the west repopulated its numbers. Most left Paris to seek other people to mate with and hopefully bring the gift of daughters into the clan. None ever succeeded until the Bordeaux family met Valentina a direct descendant of Romulus. Her mother had lost her husband in the Great War causing her to leave and find her second husband an Earl of London. They tried countless times to have children and they failed until they soon learned that they were pregnant with a little girl. It gave the clan hope that all was not lost and it caused the children of the Bordeaux family to seek out their mates and give them children.
The elder Remus had retreated to a secluded cabin away from the rest of the clan members causing Aaron to take over and begin the legacy of his father. Creating a group of assassins among them immediate family members he began hunting the most important members of the Romulus clan. Aaron was not a man to reckon with for he had methods of making his clan members learn that his way was the only way, public torture, holding the shifting process, making the women suffer, and taking away the rights of the clan. Even allowing his brother Zeena, nephew Tegan, sons Harper and Remus leave the clan was tough enough, but he knew it was best if they were to kill the second most important head of the Romulus family. Still this did not meant that Aaron sent out spies to make sure things were underway and to hear their reports of his skilled family members not undergoing with the assignments pissed him off.
Except under the nose of Aaron there were rebels who hated the public humiliation and the ways of the clan. Wolves would leave the clan and some would succeed, but most would meet the fate of death. Their brand of the clan would be removed and sent back to Aaron as a trophy.
Aaron is not a happy camper though his family that he sent out for assignments hadn’t returned and he went out to figure out why and he might not like the answers.
Originally Remus had left the clan on assignment. It being that he needed to behead Amos Bordeaux and return it back to the clan. Except what happened when he got there wasn’t something he expected. He courted a female named Holly May and learned that she was the daughter or Amos. Things couldn’t be helped and he dated, mated, and beared children. Now he is hiding from his father hoping that he doesn’t learn that his children are mutts and that his mate is a white wolf let alone an alpha.
Harper the adopted son of Aaron had being allowed to leave, but to show that there was nothing better than the arms of his very disturbed father. Except Harper found his long lost companion Landon, whom he learn he loved. They caused some of their own chaos and stripped a young pup of a better life. In the end all three mated and currently Peace has become pregnant, but darkness still looms in that household. Or at least in Harper, he knows his father has returned and above everything else Harper fear the man who has stripped him of everything. Aaron stepping in the same lands as Harper only means he would be tortured and turned into a pet.
Zeena, who left with his son Tegan to check on both Aaron’s sons, their nephews, had come on assignment on well. News had gotten back that Remus had come short of completing the task his father had given him. Zeena the enforcer was close to killing the Romulan alpha, but there were complications to this. in the slight ambush that Zeena managed he learned from a wolf named Ambrosia about Amos being mated to an angel. Upon confrontation according to the angel killing his mate would bring a curse and hell on earth on the Remus clan. Zeena was not willing to risk this. Instead he spared them, something he did not ever dared to do and instead he distracted himself with Ambrosia. Zeena has kept this silence only because if Aaron managed to find out he would be punished and Ambrosia would probably be killed.
Tegan, cousin to Remus and Harper and son of Zeena has tagged along the killing of Amos not being his assignment, but a mere chance. If he killed the alpha Tegan could be on the good side of Aaron, but Tegan could hardly care. His time in the new lands encountered another wolf named Nada, who he has kept secret just like the rest of his family. He couldn’t risk anything harming the beautiful Nada. For now he has merely being the watcher of the clan and probably remain that way until something threatens his own piece of happiness.
So far things have remained at a stand still with the wolves and clan politics, but the arrival of Aaron will only set events into motion. Recruitment for both clans would be a major cause of another possible war Aaron is planning, but one thing is for certain he wants the total destruction of the Romulan line, down to the children and grandchildren. All must perish in this last possible war!
