So, for the second album in a row...after the album was finished, tracklisting solidified and posted, everything's ready to go...I had a moment of inspiration and ended up completing another song. On the first album, it was "Hands On The Wheel", which ended up being a single and a bonus track on the digital version. However, this time, the song was simply too good to just throw on as a bonus track on this album. So I've added the brand new song "Phase" to the upcoming album "All The Secrets You Thought You Kept" as the album opener, and it will be the third official single released from the album. So, I finally recorded an acoustic version of "You Fail Me"! The original version of course appeared on the debut album Your Heart Was Built On A Graveyard Of Lies, which was released back in January.
This song may appear on a bonus version of the upcoming album All The Secrets You Thought You Kept; we'll have to see. Until then, you can stream it pretty much anywhere, and download it as a Pay What You Want download with no minimum required at http://www.thechalliseffect.com/music or at http://www.thechalliseffect.bandcamp.com.
Interestingly enough, this song actually began as an acoustic song (the groovy chorus riff was written on an acoustic) before being finished as a fully electric, hard rock song. So doing an acoustic version of it was kind of a no-brainer, once I thought about it and began playing through acoustic sets in the studio. I'm surprised it took me this long to do it, lol. Anyway, you can definitely hear some of the more post-grunge Tantric/Days of the New influences here; this was a lot of fun to record and is pretty much the basis of what TCE is, or at least began as....bare-bones acoustic rock. Enjoy!!!

Cool sounds really interesting... Havent heard the original version of the song yet but I am sure it is pretty amazing... The acoustic version of the song is very relaxing might I say... don't ya just love it when you do a journal entry, and without the person reading the whole thing, they automatically downrate you? even better, so you can't respond to them with the answer to their question, they block you. i'm not a bitch. i've been a part of this site for almost 10 years now. if you really want to know why the kittens have to be aborted you could just asked. let me tell the story first before anyone else decides to downrate without knowing the whole story:
back in the beginning of january i paid to have 2 of my friends female cats spayed. one of the cats was 10 years old, and her last litter of kittens were deformed, they died, and the birth nearly killed the mother. the vet advised us to have her fixed so this wouldn't happen again, so we had her both of them spayed. well, the 10 year old cat ended up going in to heat again about 6 weeks later, and we tried to pass it off as though she was just acting on instinct (we even called the vet and they said it was nothing). she got out by accident, mated, and much to our dismay, the pregnancy took. thing is IT SHOULD NOT HAVE TAKEN. we just had her spayed in january. this shouldn't have been possible. all we can guess is the vet who did the surgery screwed up. anyway, i looked at the cat when i was at my friends house night before, and i told her that yeah the cat was definitely either pregnant, or something was seriously wrong, and i would contact the vet the next morning. so, i contacted the vet, and they had us bring her in to be re-examined, and the vet was shocked when she saw the cat was definitely pregnant after being spayed, and said that from the looks of things, having the kittens would kill the mother, and they would redo the spay.
see, i love animals too, and i am going on what the vet says. i'm not a heartless bitch, but i don't want momma cat to die because the vet didn't do the spay right the first time either. if they would have spayed lily right the first time, she would not have gotten pregnant, but i am glad we're not being charged for the second spay. sorry if i offend anyone, but please, before judge, get the facts.
she is home now. the vet tech wont admit how she was able to get pregnant after being spayed, but we were told that having the kittens would have killed the momma. lily is resting peacefully, and her owner is happy she's alright.

Most of you caught the news a few days ago via Facebook and Twitter, but for those of you who haven't...TCE officially has a new album on the way!!!
The 9-track, mostly acoustic release is titled All The Secrets You Thought You Kept, and the digital download includes a bonus, acoustic cover of Evans|Blue's "Beg" (which was posted to Youtube a couple of days ago ). We are currently working on the album art and I should have a release date very shortly for you guys....but I can tell you it will hopefully be very soon.
This album will initially be available as a Pay What You Want download here on the official site and on TCE's Bandcamp page, and of course will be available as a priced download through all the major online retailers.
I will post the E|B cover as well as another single shortly, so keep an eye out for that. If you want to hear "Beg" sooner, just hop over to Youtube to check it out.
