I walk in the American Cancer Society's Relay For Life for my grandfather, Colonel Theodore Dale, who passed away after a 30+ year battle with prostate cancer on September 9th, 2011. He continues to be a huge inspiration in my life of what someone can do as long as they put their mind to it. He was a veteran of WWII, Korea, and Vietnam and had a very long career in the military.
Even though he had cancer for over 30 years, he never let it control him and he continued to live his life and even into his 90s was still traveling the world. Last year was my first Relay For Life after my grandfather passed away, I walked 22 miles and raised $2550 and had some very emotional moments throughout the night, especially when I was awarded the Relay For Life Spirit Award. I could not help but to think that he was smiling down at me wherever he is now.
Cancer has touched so many people's lives and I not only Relay for the people I have lost to cancer but for everyone battling it now and for any and everyone who one day here's those words, "You have cancer".
I want to leave you all with a video of my grandfather who was being interviewed as part of a Korean War project, this was back on August 24th, 2010, a little over a year before he passed away.

Walking in the American Cancer Society's Relay For Life this year and honestly I have not had much luck with getting donations, so anyone interested in donating?
Anyone?
Anyone?
Nope?
Oh well, click here for my donation page if for some reason anyone actually does want to donate.
Hey everyone, as most of you know I am walking in the Relay For Life again this year, this is my third year. Last year I raised $2550 and have high hopes this year but due to a new job and doing committee work with the Relay I have not had as much time to do personal fundraising.
I know times are still tough but honestly I have 400+ people on here who have added me as friends and if even half of you can donate just $5 that adds up really fast. This is a cause very close to home for a lot of people and I really would love your help, whether its a donation, verbal support, passing the link on to others or anything you can do.

How few people in this world actually care anymore.
Every single day I see more and more examples of people who simply could care less for those around them. And those that do care are taken advantage of and used.
Humanity is a plague, a disease. This becomes more apparent with every day.
This is kind of a random question to people on here, but as I am getting older I am starting to think about the future and with the recent drops in silver/gold prices it has me wondering about some things.
I get a 401K through work. I recently was elgible to start it at work. The only thing is you can't touch it until you retire. I think it's a good way to save up money for when you're retired and don't work.
Once again this year I am walking in the American Cancer Society's Relay For Life. Not only am I volunteering but I am also part of the committee for my event. I have been working my butt off to get items donated for the silent auction as well as helping set up a Facebook page for it and helping to set up the Kickoff Party as well as other events.
I could really use any of your help with any donations you can give. Last year I raised $2550 and I am really trying to hit $3500 this year. I know that seems like a lot but a lot of small donations do add up. Even if you can only give $5-$10 it does add up. Anything any of you can give does help a lot.

I'm getting really tired of people. I cannot tell you how many arguments people have started with me for not texting or messaging first.
Well lets see, whenever I do text/message people first, what happens? Most of the times I never get a reply. Even if I am busy or asleep I reply to messages when I can yet it seems like I'm the only person who does this.
I almost always make sure I send the last message in a conversation so that when the other person is able to again they can just reply but apparently that seems like crazy talk to most people.
I honestly try to be a decent guy but lately people keep pushing my buttons and when I do finally get frustrated, who's the bad guy? Of course it's me, because people see a decent guy and what do they do? Do they treat him well? Nah, why do that when you can use and exploit them. This obviously isn't just about the messaging thing.
I don't know you, dude, but I know EXACTLY what you're on about. It seems as soon as the nicest people do anything wrong, they're crucified for it. But those people who do it on a daily basis, nobody cares when they do it.It's bullshit. Makes you really want to stop talking to people all together. But the problem with nice guys, they can't stop being nice.Just stick in there man! You'll find people who share your views soon enough. Those are the kinds of people you want around.
