I Want To Belive [Featured Site Content]

Aliens have been a topic of human curiosity ever since people started star-gazing.
Aliens have been said to be depicted in ancient texts/drawings, Egyptian artwork and in stories from cultures across the globe.
Even several United States Presidents have expressed a strong belief in extraterrestrial life, including J.F. Kennedy and Bill Clinton.
Today we want to know what your opinion of aliens is.
Do you believe in life on other planets?
Do you think it's "intelligent" life, or something more along the lines of bacteria?
What do you think they look like?
Do you think they have visited Earth?

Leave your thoughts, gifs, video clips, photos and suggestions for future journals in the comment section below! pointdown

Statistically the odds of us being the only intelligent and sentient lifeforms in existence is far lower than most people realize.
There is just too much space to dismiss the idea outright.
As to the rest it's all speculation and opinion after that.

Conceptually they are quite fascinating.
However I find the idea of Ultraterrestrials (prehuman intelligent species){fairies, elves, elementals} more interesting. I do believe there is a whole layer of reality that we for the most part, don't or can't perceive.

Hmm. Definitely a believer in " aliens ", though I don't necessarily think they're all short green creatures with huge eyes and three fingers.. I'd have to assume that depending on your planetary surroundings you'd look and form a lot differently.

Life on other planets, hell yes. Intelligent life, definitely. Has it been here. Don't know. Fun to think about. Lol. Jet is no alien. He was born here in the US. Besides that, who would have dreamed up this place, VF, no alien. They would have enough trouble with the plethora of religions...

I believe aliens exist, the universe very very large and there are a lot of undiscovered realms, it would be very selfish of humanity to perceive that they are the only ones alive in such a vast universe.

I think we should concentrate on finding intelligent life on Earth first.

I'm not as hopeful as everyone else. There is the possibility that life...as we know it...is a complete and utter fluke so rare, that it may never happen again. The prolific life we see now is just the evolution of the original first spark of life. So far, we have not witnessed another...or reproduced this "first spark" of life ourselves. Even with our sophisticated labs which can easily reproduce the same chemical environment billions of years ago when life first stirred. Nothing on our sister planet Mars either...who had running water and warmer climates at one time.

Not saying that it is totally impossible since it did happen here. But maybe it's just an extremely...and I mean EXTREMELY...rare phenomenon.

IDK :-( I always associate them with abductions and dissections. The only one I love is Roger (Smith) :P

They have already found bacteria on another planet, as well as finding 7 earth like planets 40 light years away, 4 of which are predicted to be able to support life like that of earth.

Ok but like... what really constitutes an alien being classified as such? Scientists are well on their way to proving parallel universes exist, and if life exists in these parallel universes, wouldn't that count as an alien?

For the record I honestly have no fucking clue if any of that even made sense. I'm sleep deprived atm dammit.

Technically a parallel universe occupies the same space, so no technically life in a parallel universe we find while on earth is still life on earth, not aliens.

Mars does contain germs by the way, so technically we have found our first aliens....except I think they will have difficulty with the whole "take me to your leader" line

I don't know. I find it hard to believe we are the only planet in the millions and millions of galaxies that are out there.
But I don't love watching documenteries about them. Some are quite chilling
