Hello Everyone!
It's that time of the week again;
As a very quick intro (in case I have any new bats here) Tuesday Q&A topics are based off of questions you private message to me here on Vampire Freaks. If you have something you would like to me discuss please feel free to send me that topic in a message.

_________________________________________________________________________________________________

Summary of the video this week:
I was asked by a lovely commenter if I could explain how this person could find friends who are involved or interested in the Gothic Subculture. So in this video I will be giving some tips on how to find like minded people.
I also had a second question asking how to go about starting up a band and finding band mates.
Having my own band I offer some of my own personal advice on how to go about the process.

Feel free to share you ideas or insights on this topic down in the comment section below... Also feel free to private message me what you would like to see in the future. :-)

I have no goth friends irl. And I'm pretty shy & awkward in person, so whenever I do catch a concert, I usually don't really end up meeting anyone. I've pretty much become complacent in being alone. Lol.

I too have no friends. I seem to be different to everyone else. I have dark interests and hidden questions. I have long ago learned the art of adapting to the company around me in order to blend in and fade to the background. I enjoy being an observer in a group of ppl. It affords me anonymity while entertaining dark thoughts. Looking at me in person, you would never guess the darkness that lurks beneath my skin. I doubt I will ever meet someone like me. Around here image is paramount. Everyone is so involved with themselves. If only the monsters of the night was visible, I would then find myself in good company.

You should date a goth girl. Once you go goth, you never go back. Just don't get on her bad side, might be torture. @ rainbow88

I don't know about meeting goths, but in my situation meeting people who like Black Metal and Death Metal was hard back home. I'm borne and raise in Puerto Rico and even the metal head that like these type of music is rare. What I usually do is just talk to people on Facebook or any other social media pages, even in music venues. I was shy as a teenager but as an adult I figure out that I don't need to be like by other. I do move a lot due to my work, but when I make friend I keep in touch with them thanks to technology. I've been told that I'm easy to get along and I guess this help. My advise for does who want to meet people in your type of music, just be yourselves. True friend will like you the way you are and its OK to not be liked by other.

I just like the culture because of industrial music, but I prefer simplicity and minimalism in life and that's one focus of it (if others could see it that way). Wearing lots of black doesn't symbolize a negative personality or a lack of character, it's actually the opposite (all positive and full of energy). There's always that stereotypical view of goths as being "boring, lacking emotion and no energy" that's all BS.

I wouldn't mind forming a goth band. It's just I don't like the modern goth music. 1980's was a good time for great music. And there's many people (such as me) who just listen to the music because they love it, not because that person dresses like this or that. Wearing basic clothing in all black (such as Tees and jeans/shorts and chucks/plain shoes) OK, but me in eyeliner, lipstick or long hair? just no.

I just joined this group recently, and I'm struggling with this very thing. It's hard enough to make new friends when you're a 30+-year-old introvert living in a huge metropolis filled with notoriously flaky people (I live in L.A.).

My fiancee was a godsend, but even though we have each other, we both get frustrated that our local friends, who are few in number for me, don't share many of our interests. It also doesn't help that schedule conflicts and transportation issues ensure that venturing out to the Goth venues is nothing more than an occasional luxury.

Yes, even living in one of the Goth capitols of the U.S., it is more-than-possible to be a lonely Goth. 🙁
