I dip into the messageboard once in a while, but it's generally been full of pissery, bullshit, trolling, and nonsense. That's why I stick to a handful of cults...where actual discussion can happen. Plus, there are several cults far more active than most of the messageboards....and the general VF population is less douchebag-y than the regulars on there.

I personally never said that, nor do I have a problem with it. I troll people all the time for being fucking stupid. I'm rather known for it elsewhere on the site.
Having said that, I'm far from the only one who feels that the messageboard is completely useless and full of random dickbaggery much of the time. In fact, the majority of VF seems to feel that way as of late.
Typically, the problem is not "everyone else"; it's the select few who cause everyone else to feel a certain way.
Also, (and I'm not pointing to you specifically), there are users who use dickbaggery under the pretense of good, and it's fuck-all retarded.
Plus, if there was any discussion worth a shit on the boards, I might join in. but the vast majority of the time, there isn't. And that's both a quality issue and an activeness issue. Cults are far more substantial as well as active.
Wish jet would give me mod power back to the musicians lounge that was my idea! That place needs someone that would pay attention to it. I don't think any of the 3 that mods that place even goes in there hardly or know anything about instruments?

Regarding the messageboard, I'll read through it, but questions or statements that I have in mind are usually already posted. As for the regulars, I do see that some come off a little hostile. I'm optimistic and hopeful that they aren't like that in person.

Random Thoughts can be bitchy at times, specially around summer, but that's usually because 90% of the stuff new folk post is around the level of "lulz wtf randumz i liek cupcakez"
If you get a bunch of those every day, especially around summer when schools are out, you start running a little low on patience.
There are always going to be a few assholes and I'm probably one of those from time to time, but overall, but you get those everywhere and it's really not that bad once you get settled in and people realise you don't have the mental capacity of a pee.
Brock: Considering that music is pretty much what my life revolves around, it would actually be nice to see that place more active, better moderated, and overall more substantial. I don't know you personally, but someone's got to do something about it, considering the plethora of musicians we have on the site. I've been debating creating a cult specifically for musicians, but between two bands, a full time job, three kids, etc., I just don't have the fucking time to get a cult started and active, and find other people to run it with me who actually know two shits about the instruments they play.
Code Yea, to be fair, RT is probably the place that is most rampant with stupidity. But the boards as a whole have a lack of substantiality and activity that doesn't justify me taking time away from being active in cults. See: previous comment about the Musicians Lounge; apply elsewhere as fit.
Yeah, I tend to just avoid the music sections in general unless I'm bored and want to watch people rage by claiming nu-metal is metal and Good Charlotte is punk.
Meh, the regs on the boards are generally friendly if you're not a total muppet. We're all friendly in the Intelligent Discussion Forum, if you're into that kind of posting.
And Brock... do you really think they'd ever let you be a mod again?

I Give most new people a chance, you know be friendly and try to get to know them but saying that there have been times where I have looked at a post and felt my IQ slip slightly.
mendelevium_ore The Politics forum wasn't deleted, don't worry! It was merged with the Philosophy and Intelligent Discussion forums, they're all the one forum in the main subforum section, under the 'Intelligent Discussion' title.
