ok so ive been sitting in this dumbass, worthless, piece of shit duty station for almost 3 years now. i have been home for 2 of 3. its ridiculous of how they make you do this and do that for you to even process the timeyou want off to go home. the United States military has turned into a joke. its not even the military anymore, its a fuckin daycare!! anyways back to the subject, i put in some leave days to go home and i got denied for the simple fact that i have to do 2 simple things, and one of them i have to wait for and cant speed the process up on. the other is just a countermeasure. so im still waiting and was deciding if i should proceed with trying to take all 31 days i wanted off, or just take 2 weeks here and there in a sequence of over a months time. what do you guys think?
as some of you know, im in the the military. im in the Navy. im a corpsman aka medic, that is currently deployed to afghanistan. i go on convoys to bring supply s and fuel to other bases around the area. i sacrifice my life everyday that im out here, and sometimes lose my position as staff or people on here tel me i need to be active, when they have no room to talk. im keeping this country free by putting my bidy in front of you as a shield to protect fromfrom any harm that the enemy has to throw at you or anybody else in this wonderful country we call America, but thats not the subject at hand here. the subject that i really want to talk about besides the venting i just did, is another set of venting on a different subject. i have been saving up leave days so that i can go home and see my family. for you that dont know what leave or leave days are, it is the 2.5 days i earn each month by just staying on base and not going home. it does add up. anyways, the last time i was home was on my 20th birthday. i am now 21 and will be 22 on January 2nd. i will have 54 leave days saved up, and havent seen my family in almost 2 years. people say that when they get mad. they leave home and come back later when they calm down, but what if you were overseas and didnt have a choice to go home and had to go stand in harms way and defend our nations flag, and what it stands for? there is a story behind that beautiful piece of art that we call a flag , and another piece called the star spangled banner. i WILL have another entry explaining that. i do this everyday, and deserve to go home for once and see my baby brother who is 6 years old, almost 7. i havent seen him since he was 5. he asks my dad everyday where im at, and when ill be coming home. one day, i might never come home and see him and he'll have to live with that memory the rest of his life. my marines are my brothers and my life. ill protect them with my life and my soul and the nations flag imprinted on it. do i deserve to go home? do i deserve to have leniancy towards me for not being active all the time? you decide, and if you think i dont, see if you can go out there and my job better, or see if you have the balls to do what i do. if not, shut the fuck up and go on your very way. if you think i do, thenthank you and i hope you understand what i go through on a daily basis. figure it out......
