Album no 2 !! August 07, 2008, 04:13:am
And just finished the songwriting stage would you believe.

The albums gonna be (probably) called D.O.S (insert optional pun here)

Provisional track listing:
The gift
Under The Cross
Say what ?
Last human
I of the Eye
Soma
Killing Comes easily
Rewind
Beat this
Relentless
Do not fuck with us

All new tracks which you wont hear till the album is out (crunch pod ...erm..when they can release it...I hope the middle of 2009). Ironic cos we're still a month from releasing album no 1. But what can I say I love to write.

Well I might pop a few previews up...but not quite yet !

Not currently sure when we'll gig the UK again. How can we possibly follow on from what we've had of late ? Theres a severe risk of overkill and of damaging the goodwill we've built up by becoming too familiar. That said if the album starts slow we might have to do something.

We will look into taking the ubertribe abroad but in a structured way..not random gigs in crazy places.

Selected scenes from the night of the living asleep:

Crocodiles in dundee.
Norweigans breaking arms. Again.
Fitz capitalising. Cos he's a bastard.
Service stations on the M1 pilled out of my box screaming "oh my god 64" at the staff in the cafeteria.
EPIC FAIL UK !!!
Lee from corp bashing our gear screaming "I'm in a band".
Me and Lee screaming "I'm in a band" to the tune of "this shit will fuck you up".

3 fantastic nights supporting a bunch of crazy motherfuckers.
3 fantastic audiences. Especially sheffield who were fucking loco.

One broken me who cant talk, is covered in bruises, hungover and has the biggest grin I've had in years.

Absolutely NOT Nazi. July 06, 2008, 03:56:pm
Righty right.

"total war"

Its shocking. It uses one of the worst examples of vile, rhetoric ever made. And it parralels it to a certain modern politician also sampled within the song. The idea was to weld together "that speech" with a riff inspired by "Mars" from Holsts "the planets" and then clearly signpost the link between a frightening warmonger of the past with one of the present.

In essence. So we're very clear. You could say the song states "george bush is a nazi". It does NOT support Nazi ideology. In fact as someone with jewish friends and family, and married to a Mexican, hence very much a "mongrel" rather than some kinda of "pure aryan" the idea of me promoting Nazism is ludicrous.

The songs meant to be scary. its meant to unsettle you. Both the sound pallette, the lyrics and the choice of samples was intended to create a powerful, unpleasant piece of listening. Uneasy listening ? Yeah for sure !

Furthermore I want to state that I empathise with people in Germanys dislike of hearing about this period of history AT ALL. I am an admirer of modern germany and its people and culture and music. And I consider that BECAUSE they have rejected the teachings of Nazism wholesale.

Nevertheless the song "arrived" as a package when I wrote it. And its one of our most popular. I think this is because it is a powerfull piece of work that confronts people with something thats on differant levels attractive, repulsive and just plain terrifying. I'm asking you as the listener to examine your own reaction to the song. But my feelings on it should, I hope, be clear if you listen to the whole song in context.

What Im doing is not new. Artists like Wumpscut and even Bruce Springsteen have parodied right wing rhetoric and dogma and done so to face people not fully understanding. People singing along to "born in the USA" ? Listen to the lyrics kids...Its not a flag waver at all !

Same thing here.

Finally. I loathe the right wing. Im a socialist. My roots and my future are multi cultural and I detest the very policies that "total war" espouses.

This is my last word on the subject for now I hope !

Uberbyte sign to Crunch Pod. June 09, 2008, 04:08:am
Announcement : Uberbyte sign to Crunch Pod

Photobucket

UK sturm and drang stompers UBERBYTE rose from the ashes of the controversial industrial rock outfit Killing Miranda in late 2006. Newly rechristened with the enigmatic moniker "Uberman", KM's former vocalist quickly took Uberbyte to the stage, providing support to such heavy hitters as Hocico, The Cruxshadows, Panzer AG, KiEw, Die Krupps, XP8, and Faderhead, becoming an almost overnight sensation in the flourishing, revitalized UK industrial scene.

An appearance on the distinguished 2007 four-disc compilation ENDZEIT BUNKERTRACKS III for the club hit "Total War" pushed Uberbyte even further into the spotlight, with their fanbase dramatically increasing due to their energetic live performances (which have already taken them as far as Mexico), remixes for the likes of Leatherstrip, XP8, and Aesthetic Perfection , and grassroots local and international support.

Wasting no time, UBERBYTE will be releasing their debut CD SIC on the U.S. label CRUNCH POD, home of industrial upstarts such as CERVELLO ELETTRONICO, MANUFACTURA, C/A/T, and CAUSTIC. SIC's lean programming and infectious hooks keep one foot grounded in industrial's dance heyday of CUBANATE, LEATHER STRIP, and early :WUMPSCUT: while maintaining a keen eye on the future with influences such as GRENDEL and HOCICO. While comparisons can be made to today's current ebm/industrial fusions, none sound exactly like Uberbyte, and that demonstrates why they are on the rise. SIC is a head welding relentless rhythmic assault that will get stuck in your head for days to come.

People of the world, STAND UP FOR UBERBYTE!
