I've decided to restart my old ass Reverb Nation page. I've also made a facebook page based on that page. Virtually every single track I've done is on there (including a lot of early bad ones) and you can download most of my songs off of it too if you'd like .
I think it's about time I actually said something about this because it's been bothering me for quite a while. For those who don't know, in about a week or so the internet could be forever changed for the worst. SOPA stands for "Stop Online Piracy Act" which is threatening to destroy the internet as we know it. Long story short: If it passes, any website can be shutdown for any copyright infringing material without any legal process. For example: Say somebody decides to post a video of them singing a copyrighted song up on here. The entire VF website could literally be shut down for that one video. The URL for VF would cease to function, and all advertiser funding would be cut off.
So this means that every website is going to have insanely over protective content filtering, or user generated content could just be blocked to make things easier to manage. New websites will be a lot more scarce because nobody will be willing to take the risk that running a website would entail. A company could invest hundreds of thousands of dollars into starting up a new site only to have it go from fully functional to completely off the grid in less than a week.
Anyways, just do some googling on it. There's a lot more information on it and I don't think I really need to give you all the details to prove how bad it is. Wikipedia is going to be going on strike tomorrow along with 1000s of other sites. If you guys like free speech and the freedom of the internet, I suggest you get out there and do something about it. Spent the last 2 days fine tuning and mastering Independent Thinking. Just uploaded it now. I think it's my best sounding track yet xD Gotta love youtube for all it's amazing instructional videos.
