It's quite hard to get my rotten self to keep this journal going, so while I'm here, I'm going to bombard you lot with an overload of information that will span over the next few months.
Firstly, we're playing, on what's sure to be a drunken Saturday night, at The Intrepid Fox in Tottenham Court Road with my lovely friend's band Die Kur next Saturday 28th January. 2 days later, on Monday 30th, the first single 'Scum' from our debut album will be released on Zeff Music and will be available, as a download only, from iTunes, Play.com, Amazon and all good music stores. Here's a link to the promo video: http://www.youtube.com/user/Lilygun#p/u There's a review you can read here: http://rockreviews247.com/2012/01/12/lilygun-scum-review/ but keep an eye on our website, it's bound to get a few more reviews and radio play from certain lovely people who still give a rats about proper Rock music! HA!!!
Then there's a month of me running around trying to get 'Moonlight', the second single, pressed onto limited addition vinyls that can be brought for a very reasonable price from our website and some independent record stores. Analog lives on... Followed by a show at the Garage in Islington, Saturday 3rd March, which I'm so excited about because it's the first time Lilygun has ever played there and we got to pick our support bands. All brilliant female fronted bands with attitude, this will be a really cool gig. Get info about this show here: http://www.lilygun.com/gigs-page.html And after all of that comes the album but we're definitely not organized for any of that right now so I'll just ignore it all for now and only say...
First post of the New Year... We're so excited to announce the next London show will be at The Garage! A venue that we've never played at before and we've also been lucky enough to pick the support bands as well. This is a great line-up of some of the best female fronted bands around in London and should definitely NOT BE MISSED!
Tickets include FREE entry to aftershow party at Slimelight across the street until 7am! Stalls and top Goth scene DJs spinning their stuff in between the bands.
What a crazy few weeks its been in the U.K this month!!! In the middle of all the violent madness, Lilygun have been super busy. We're in the middle of mixing our album, sorting out the artwork, release etc and inbetween all of that, we're launching our new website today! It's all happening...
Gigs: We began with a bang at Gotham 'Lite' and this month we're heading to Brighton for the first time (check the Gigs Page at www.lilygun.com for all the details). We weren't planning on playing another London show before Gotham Festival in December but you wanted it, you got it:
Friday 14th October at The Purple Turtle 65 Crowndale Road, Camden NW1 1TN More U.K dates will be added so keep an eye on our website.
Media: Photos from our last recording session and gigs have been posted on our website and Facebook page, also check out the first live review of this year for us here: http://www.myspace.com/darklordofbarnet/blog/543587974 Speaking of Facebook, thank you to everyone on there for your support, we appreciate it. We're still not doing the Twitter though!!
When there's a will, there's a way... Luv LILYGUN x
