The Birthday Massacre
[Toronto, Canada :: Metropolis Records]
Voted 'Favorite Band' by the members of VampireFreaks, The Birthday Massacre has had a huge following on the VampireFreaks site (and worldwide) for years now. The band was formed in 1999 and independently produced and recorded their first two albums, Nothing and Nowhere and Violet. Due to their independent success, in 2005 they were approached and signed by Metropolis Records and the band began its steady climb to reaching a much wider audience, and now has a total of 5 studio albums. In the last few years, the band has been performing internationally, traveling extensively across Canada, the United States, Mexico, Australia, the U.K. and Europe.
London After Midnight was formed in the 1990s by Sean Brennan. Unlike most music projects, LAM has retained and nurtured the progressive political and socially aware element of the later punk scene that virtually vanished from the music scene in the early 90s. London After Midnight has headlined and co-headlined concerts and major festivals around the world to crowd of over 30,000 people with bands like The Cure, Green Day, HIM, and countless other major artists. Each of London After Midnight's releases have charted in the top 10 and top 20 of the European DAC and alternative charts. This will be LAM's first NYC performance in over 5 years.
Modulate have supported Alec Empire, VNV Nation and Combichrist on major international tours as well as numerous national and international festival appearances, headline tours and shows around the world. After scoring dancefloor success with his own material, Skullfuck, Detonation and Robots releases, Modulate has become one of the hottest remixers in the alternative electro scene. The bands most recent release, Robots, gave them their biggest hit yet, peaking at #3 in the German Alternative Chart, giving them their first magazine cover and receiving rave reviews across the media...stamping their way into many journalists and broadcasters Best Of 2012 charts.
Voltaire is often described as a modern day renaissance man. He is a singer/ performer, creator of comic books, animation and toys. As a musician, he is a songwriter whose music can best be described as a collection of murder ballads, tongue-in-cheek exercises in the macabre, with just enough bawdy songs about Star Trek and Star Wars to keep a Con audience rolling in the aisles. Many know him for his song "Brains!" from the Cartoon Network show "The Grim Adventures of Billy And Mandy". Voltaire's live shows are highly theatrical -full of stories and games. The theatrical quality of his performances is not surprising; Voltaire has been directing commercials and animating short films for the last twenty years.
First taking the stage in 2011, Candy Brain has blended inspiration from synth pop, industrial rock, and various video game soundtracks to deliver a hard hitting, yet melodic experience with lyrical concepts of love, irony, and comic books. Having shared the stage with acts such as BILE, Orgy, Davey Suicide, and Vampire Everywhere, Candy Brain has developed a continuously growing cult following, and ravages the stage with presence and energy.
