Woman rescued from Tioga Falls

Fox 41 News has learned that a woman is in critical condition tonight after falling 40 feet off a ledge at Tioga Falls near West Point, Ky.
A source at West Point Police tells us that a woman in her 20s was visiting the falls with her boyfriend. After hiking to the falls, she leaned over a ledge to admire the view. Then she slipped and fell 40 foot into shallow water below.
She suffered severe head and back injuries, according to dispatchers. Crews arrived on the scene at 2:40 this afternoon, but due to the harsh terrain, they were unable to chopper her out until 4:50.
She was flown to University Hospital and is currently in critical condition.
Several agencies assisted with the rescue, including fire departments from Muldraugh, Pleasure Ridge Park and West Point. Radcliff and West Point Police were also present. A rescue chopper was also on the scene. The source said the woman was in a hard-to-reach area and the departments are using ATVs and "high angle" rescue equipment to get to her.
