So a group of Ripperologists (Rip-er-auh-luh-jists; Group of researchers who studied a lot on the Jack the ripper cases) Have stumbled on a NEW discovery. That Jack is no longer a KILLER MAN but! A KILLER WOMAN! Jack NOW known as Jackie the Ripper was a known killer in and around the WhiteChapel district of London during the 1800's. Jackie mostly targeted female Prostitutes, removing their throats and their female genitalia.
Now, when I first heard of this, I was shocked and I refused to believe it because for so long Jack the Ripper was..JACK! He was the man who either fucked prostitutes and killed them or..Just mutilated them. Either way Jack the Ripper was...JACK THE MAN! Not only that for SO LONG I had only known but `1 Jack the ripper!! Who was a guy! But after listening to a podcast. I realized--It could be possible it was a woman this whole time. Who knows~ Just still strange.
It bummed me out for a second because it also changed my way of describing the story. But when I asked this to a member of Horrorprops. HE/SHE replied with: "Legends have it as a man, so we follow that. But, the fact that Jack might be Jane is completely possible. I'd like to think of it as a woman more so.... seems a bit harsher, ya know?" Which is true for so long I have depended 100% on Legends and other fiction/Non fiction stories as steroids for my writing and beliefs. So I mean I guess although Jack the ripper is a girl I still succumb to her being a man described in Legends.
