Well, in recent years I’ve noticed that I couldn’t really participate in conversations. Then, later on, I noticed that I couldn’t really hear TV unless it was really loud. So I broke down yesterday and took a few hearing tests online. My results ranged from moderately severe to severe. Okay, so what does that mean? I did some research and the levels are moderate, moderately severe, severe and profound. To be considered Deaf, you must be profoundly deaf. Okay, so the difference between “deaf” and “Deaf”. deaf people can hear some things and participate in a hearing conversation with aid of lip reading, etc. Whereas, Deaf people can’t hear much of anything. Now, deaf people as well as Deaf people do wear hearing aids/cochlear implants to help them participate in the hearing world. More about the hearing world later. So what does this mean for me? I need to get a hearing test and some hearing aids pronto. Problem. There’s this stuff called money and I don’t really have much of it. One hearing aid can cost well over $1000. So, I think my best bet is to get m hearing checked find out what kind of hearing aids I need and save up for them. Wish me luck. Out. KNG♥
