*ahem* I will say this once. You mentioned that it says on the web that the bible is evil. And? There are alot of sites out there that say the bible is evil. They're called hate sites. There are also A LOT more hate sites for homosexuals, interracial couples, people who've had kids out of wedlock, and many other groups that are discriminated against every day. To cry discrimination when you are the majority is just stupid. Second, while the bible may tell us about the future, we have to look at it in context. (during which the time it was written and make amends for laws and other ideals which may be outdated) The bible says the men are allowed to kill their wives for adultery, but says "thou shalt not murder" Hypocrisy? I think so. Thirdly, while the bible says that it is not ok to be gay, it was referring to when Roman soldiers would come into towns, and pillage them, raping both men and women. Alot of the "homosexual hating verses" were geared towards stopping that from happening. The bible says "thou shall not lie with mankind as woman kind. It is a sin, and you shall be unclean" It was mainly referring to men's lusts during battle. Fourth, Christians are not having their rights stripped from them. Everyone has the same rights. The laws that are in place are to KEEP ONE GROUP FROM IMPOSING IT'S BELIEFS AND IDEALS ON THOSE WHO DO NOT WISH TO FOLLOW THAT GROUP. *ahem* I'll take hypocrisy again for 500, Alex. Please keep these comments clean and do your research before you post something. I am in no way saying that you are not entitled to your beliefs. But I believe that coming in here and spewing hatred at anyone who does not follow your religion or "hates on" your religion, is WRONG. Now, where was I? Oh yes. I do agree with you that people are corrupting religion and that it has become twisted by people's gross misinterpretation over the years. The King James version of the bible was written by, guess who? King James. He bent the scripture in his own beliefs and ideals. Thus it is extremely flawed from the version that God gave those who originally wrote the bible. And even those versions are flawed because some of the words used in their language back in those days, have no meaning in our language today and we've had to find alternative meanings for them And vice versa. Now, yes the bible was used to warn people of the coming of Christ. But it was also to educate people on the life and times of God and Jesus Christ. To spread Christianity, and promote a union of all nations. It's not just about warning about Armageddon. And finally, I agree with asking your pastor if someone has questions. But I would kindly dissuade them from asking you any questions, as your mindset would probably warp the true intentions of the bible. And, also....Have you even studied religion at college, as to understand EVERY view that the bible could be taken in? If not, wait to guide people until you can open your mind a little more, and are a little older and able to make your own decisions and form your own ideas, instead of just jumping on the "wahhh-everyone-hates-christians!" bandwagon.
