We left Vlissingen around 5 AM and headed to Charleroi Airport to catch our flight to Madrid. Everything went really smooth and a couple of hours later we arrived at Madrid Airport. First check in at the hotel, and then time for some sightseeing, which meant finding our way to the nearest bar to get us some drinks and food. Also it was lovely weather, around 20 degrees, a lot better than Holland where the temperature was around 6 degrees. Afterwards we took 2 cabs to the Sala Heineken which was not too far from the hotel but we didn't knew that. Covenant was already there and busy doing their soundcheck which meant waiting and more drinking/eating for us. The Sala Heineken is one of the cooles venues we've been to, lots of floors, bars, lounges, etc. We also met the guy from the opening band Shorai, a really nice bloke. And we sure had lots of fun backstage with him, some words that come to mind are chuppa, tettas, conjo and culo (dunno if these are spelled right). Combine these words with everything you say and you're destined to have a great time. Luckily our newest bandmember Isabel her sister are spanish otherwise we would have been completely lost (mentally and physicly). Drinks kept coming and disappearing in the backstage. You ask for a beer and you get a bottle of wodka, not bad at all. We also shared the backstage with Covenant and they were really nice guys, and the girls were all wetting their pants over their keyboardplayer. Around 21.00 we entered the stage and we really rocked the house down. We only had about 35 minutes playtime but we decided to give it all we got. It's cool to see that people in Spain know your songs and sing along. Also this was the first show for new singer Isa and the spanish audience loved her, way to go kiddie. After the show we were completely knackered and wasted. We watched the Covenant show from the side as we were too tired to go dancing, and some of us were getting drunk anyway. We had a few drinks after their show and headed back to the hotel because next morning we had to get up early to catch our flight to Barcelona. Didn't get much sleep as Madrid by night is a lot more noisier than Madrid by daytime. Next morning we headed back to the airport for our flight to Barcelona with Ryanair. Even though Ryanair is all plastic fantastic and looks and feels cheap ass, their flights are always on time (and we were glad to see the same blonde stewardess again at our flight). And of course we were picked out of the queue to be fully checked by police and customs. In Barca we first went to the hotel and freshen up a little. Around 18.00 we took cabs to the venue Sala Bikini. Again a very nice venue with also a very good crew. Hiya Robert, put another shrimp on the barbee, crikey mate (great job on our sound, dude). We also had lots of fun with the opening act E.G.O., especially their drummer's girlfriend Monica. Soundcheck went incredibly fast, in just 10 minutes we had the sound we wanted. So all the more time for drinks and food and having fun with the other bands. Around 21.00 we entered the stage, and the Barcelona crowd was even better than the Madrid one, singing along and dancing and jumping to the songs. Also Isa announced Neon Venus and talked to the audience in Spanish which was welcomed with enthousiastic applause. As usual we gave everything we got and more during the show. We made it easy for Covenant warming up their audience. Too bad there was a strict curfew at midnight and everyone (including the bands) had to leave. Finding the exit was almost impossible, we got completely lost in the huge complex and we ended up in a closed shopping mall. Luckily a cleaning lady and a nightporter showed us the way out. There was an afterparty planned at Club Demonix (free drinks!) so we went there and were happily surprised that our song Global Killer is a big hit in Spain, they played the song twice during the night and everyone was singing along to the song. Around 05.00 we left the club (BARF!) and headed back to the hotel to catch a few hours of sleep before we had to check out. Next morning the girls did some sightseeing while the others went to the nearest bar for coffee and food, and to enjoy the sun while we still had the chance. At noon we had to head back for the airport and none of us really wanted to go home. We had an amazing time in Spain and hope to return soon. We would like to say hi and thanks to: Albert Pavia, Covenant, E.G.O., Shorai, Monica, Robert, DJ Led Manville, Eva Garcia and everyone who came to see our shows. Adios!
Props: 3

XMH video shoot

On a very cold Sunday morning and afternoon XMH shot a video for the song Wasted which will be featured on the new XMH album. The Machinefabriek in Vlissingen is a very cool location and when we went there to take a look we knew that this would be the place for a videoclip. We got permission to shoot the video from the Vlissingen city council at the Machinefabriek in the same town. The video is for the XMH song Wasted which will appear on the new XMH album. We intend to put the video on the new cd as well instead of adding remixes like eveyone else is doing. No worries, a special remix cd will also be released. We had a pretty good idea of how the video should look like so we contacted our friend Sven Togni who is both cameraman and director to shoot and edit the video. Here's some pics from the videoshoot.

So... the year 2008 is almost coming to an end and whilst looking back, it sure has been an exciting and busy year for XMH. We did lots of shows in Holland, Belgium, Germany and United Kingdom where we met lots of (new) friends, fans, DJ's and bands. We welcomed Emélie Nicolaï (vocals / keyboards) to the band after Charlot Wever left. We've been very busy working on the new album, it's going to sound GREAT, I can tell. Also the XMH DJ Led Manville Remixes CD and Rape Your God (Incal mix by Implant) entered the Dutch Underground Charts. So, after all it's been a very busy year for XMH. But no rest for the wicked though, as we are already planning lots of things for 2009. Here's a small taster of what to expect from XMH in 2009: - A tour in Holland with NG-Pro, The Peoples Republic Of Europe and Ravage!Ravage! is planned for early 2009 - Shows in Holland, Spain, Germany and Belgium are confirmed - XMH will do a remix of All Hail To The Sound (4THI mix) for the new Implant album - XMH singer Benjamin Samson and dutch electro act Misery will do a song together called Burst Waves - A video will be made of the new XMH song Wasted, the video will be shot and directed by Sven Togni - And of course the follow up of the succesfull debutalbum will be released in 2009! Release date of the new XMH cd is not yet confirmed as we want every song to be a clubhit! Lots more is planned for 2009. Best wishes from XMH.
