back from vacation @ robin's oma and opa's, 3-4 hour drive to get there, through toronto off the 401 to the 400. 400 is fun to drive on, everyone speeds I decided to bring my computer to fill in the dull moments. We had a good time there... saw some of Robin's relatives, visited Tank Park, went to Wasaga beach [largest fresh water beach in the world] (will upload pictures when I actually get home.. still @ Robin's). Got heat exhaust from there and caught a bug at the same time, so I threw up at the beach, drove back to the house, threw up 3 more times give or take while robin bugged me every hour til' 11pm or so checking temperature, putting cold towels on me, etc. Was nice, just didn't like it at the time. Woke up, felt a bit better, managed to eat some cereal, dinner, then threw that all up again. Managed to keep food down the next day... I think I'm eating regular today actually... We went to Applebees later after checking out the mall, which is actually a tad better than our mall here in Kingston. First time there, decent food... we got some shitty service but they took some $ off the bill which was nice/expected. We packed up yesterday, drove in to Belleville to see if my cousin was home but she wasn't then went back to Kingston, went to visit Robins sister who were going to visit her step sister... spent time there, played some wii then left to Robin's house, unpacked, went to robin's other sisters house, dropped off some stuff then went out to finally eat. Went to a place called Wooden Heads which I've been wanting to go to for a while. It probably has the best service in Kingston. They serve gourmet pizzas, you can dress your own. I had tomato sauce, roasted garlic, smoked mozzarella , smoked chicken and pesto on mine. Both of our pizzas were great and the ceaser salad was quite nice too. Now i have a job interview at Queens School of Business for a web developer. Its a phone interview and that happens Friday.. Should be interesting. Hopefully I get it, it's a bit more secure than iSTORM would be. But I'll take whatever at this point 'cause i'm running low on doe and I want to move the fuck out of here.

" As devastating as any news on Ledger has been since the talented actor’s death in January, this story touches rather than breaks the heart. Many of you may know that Heath Ledger’s will had not been updated since the birth of Matilda, his beloved daughter with actress Michelle Williams. Upon hearing this news, fellow actors Johnny Depp, Jude Law, and Colin Farrell, who all played Ledger’s character in The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus, the film he’d been working on before his death, decided to donate their fees to the two-and-a-half-year-old. "They didn’t take the money–it goes to Heath’s daughter. That’s extraordinary! And wonderful... and when you’re part of that, you think, 'Ah, this is maybe why I went into the movies in the beginning. I thought it would be full of wonderful people.' And we’ve got a movie full of wonderful people who did extraordinary things to help," says director Terry Gilliam. "

Had a pretty fucking rough night last night between 2-3am my mum became dizzy and collapsed unconscious on the kitchen floor (loud as hell), she's lucky she didn't break open her skull or worse.. She seemed to make it back to bed alright, she started kemo last friday so I figure it's wearing her out. This experience isn't something a son should have to go through, seeing your mum as if she just dropped dead. Need to work something out between her and my brother (who isn't moving out any time soon) so she can be looked after.
Mood: scared shitless last night, ok today

So, all the hard resume work last week paid off.. I got a job interview this friday with iSTORM media, a company located in Kingston so I don't have to move. The job requires me to be an internet developer so I will likely be working with databases, mysql, php, perhaps some java, html etc... and you know, that's more or less one of my favorite things to work with, aside from mainframe stuff... it's fun to piece that stuff together. So I'm relatively happy, I read it after I got 5 hours of sleep, so my joy level wasn't as high as it would've been... I'm sure it'll hit me on Friday... will be studying the company, preparing my references and junk tomorrow. Hopefully it pays well too :P First things I wanna buy: car maintenance .. clean breaks, new rim, knock out a bump in the door and buff scratches + any paint touchups needed. and then after that, a nice cheap laptop for being able to write anywhere I want to... I might need to ask if I can start in September due to a trip to robin's oma/opa's + Wasaga Beach that we already have planned... but I will bring it up if they are considering hiring me...

Here is where your dollar goes when you buy a CD @ the store (from Faderhead) : source : http://vampirefreaks.com/forum/comment.php?pg=1&entry=445648 CD sells in store for $15 Store gets it from distributor for $11-12 Distributor gets it from label for $9-10 Label deducts costs per CD (pressing/advertisement/etc.) and ends up with a net of $6 Out of this net an artist with a good contract gets 20-25% = $1.20 and an artist with a normal contract gets 10-15% = $0.7 If you received an advance, all of your income is deducted against that advance. Let's say you get a 20% cut and your advance was $1200. Then you make $1.20 per CD, but because you got the $1200 advance you won't see any more money before you sold 1000 CDs. From CD number 1001, you will start seeing $1.20 again. --- I'm sure this isn't the case for each and every artist, yet you see his point.
