We started talking on here a little over a month ago, and within the matter of about 3 days, we were texting constantly all day, skyping, and on the phone every night. The problem? 400 miles in between us. Until finally, one day, I couldn't take not being able to see her in person and confirming everything we seemed to be feeling for each other.
Long story short, because I suck at telling long stories, I drove 400 miles, we met, and we're now happily together.
For anyone on this site who has a long distance penpal and you both know you have feelings for each other, do yourself a favor, listen to your GUT INSTINCT, and if it tells you anything close to "You should go see them". DO IT!!!
Coming down here always rekindles my love for photography and my creativity, mainly, because this is where it all started for me. I remember being in awe of all the sites, sounds and colors around me when I made my first trip here when I was 14. At that time I only had a little point and shoot and had no idea what I was doing, but I couldn't wait to get back to the hotel and look at the shots on my laptop. (My camera's viewscreen was like... 1 inch big. Kickin' it old schoool). Sadly I don't have any of those shots to show you due to my computer frying 8 years ago... but when I made the trip back here 4 years ago with my first SLR and a photography class under my belt, I started my first photography series called The Dark Side of Disney.
This is one of my first, and probably one of my favorite shots I've ever taken:
