A Beautiful Lie

Good after noon ladies and gentleman,
My name is Erik Mendez, and I'm glad to be here,
at this moment, not only to talk about what we have done
but what A Beautiful Lie we have created. We have
blinded ourself from reality, and we have given our back to
our home planet. By not only polluting it, but destroying its
beauty as well.
A beautiful lie we have been living on. Thinking that everything was right when something weird was going on.
A beautiful lie we have been working on, without stopping, like a ball falling off a cliff. A beautiful lie is what we have been dreaming of, holding pollution's hand.
This beautiful lie seemed positive to those who are blind, but others have been staring at reality. It's a beautiful lie after all. Yes A BEAUTIFUL LIE! Thinking that the future will be better, but yet, we're destroying the ground we live on. This is our planet. This is our world. This is the place where our children will born.
One day we'll walk the earth with a gas mask in our face. Just to survive in this beautiful place. The gas mask will be our best friend, just like the blind man to their pets. The ice caps are getting shorter, while the oceans are getting taller. After the actions we have done, mother nature wants it undone. We have destroyed many forests, given an opening to pollution. If it expands any longer, we will be swimming instead of walking.
If we had the power to make this possible, I believe we have the power to stop what seems impossible. I believe if we combine our voices, we can make a change to turn this chaos around. I believe we can do this by putting a little time in and have a positive attitude. Actions speak louder than words. So take action. Fight against the pollution. This is the time to act.
I have a vision that one day, we will walk this planet without any concerns about the air around us. I have a vision that one day, the oceans will be clean. I have a vision that one day, all the animals will not be in danger of extinction. I have a vision that one day, humanity will come to an arrange to help nature. I have a vision that this planet will never die, as long as human kind exist. Thank you.
