Totally creeped me out! July 16, 2008, 08:51:am
i have some mail kinda like standing up sideways, and i heard this scratching sound, it sent shivers down my spine. many people say they have seen a mouse running around in the house and i thought that was it.

Yesterday:

there are 5 kids that i babysit from time to time, ages 2, 3, 6, 8, & 11. yesterday morning they woke me up, like they always do, outside my window. as i'm waking up, i'm talking to them, and one of them (the 8 year old) throws something in my room. i look to see what it was & came to find it was a pretty green beetle, so i pick it up by its wing (that is just chillin outside its shell) and threw it outside (not as calmly as i'm explaining this haha) they picked it up and tried to throw it back in & missed.

Just now:
i hear the scratching sound. i back away from the mail from which the sounds were coming from. it sounds like something small, but big, you know? like it was a large bug or something. so i decide to balls up and investigate, i move one of the letters to find that SAME beetle crawling somewhere. now, my window and where i found this bug are about 6 feet away from each other & this little d00d is missing a leg! so i grab one of the empty glasses, and kinda get him to walk in it & then turned it right-side up and put another glass on top. now, i'm curious as to what kind of beetle it was, because i've never seen one of those in my life. so i go on the interenet & find it, here's what it looked like. i'm so pissed at those kids for doing that, because that thing could have crawled up & bit me when i was asleep, in the research i did on it, i found out that they eat smaller insects & tadpoles, so it really could have bit me! i also found that the Diving Beetle thrives in still water, like a pond or something. what i want to know is how the hell it found its way into my neighborhood. there's not "standing water" in, like, a 5-10 mile radius. so keeping in mind that it likes water, i decided to throw it in the drain in the street. little to know that the drain doesn't lead to sitting water, it leads to the ocean, for now i wonder if the little guy is okay, and when those kids get back from their grandma's, i'm gonna hang the one who threw it back in my room.
