In the shadows shines an eerie grin
Here lies the mystery of life
Eyes glowing red; teeth of yellow
He lays in waiting
Knowing humans cannot conceive
What he grasps so easily
(This one I wrote a little while back and I think will be the last journal post for tonight...)
Those blood-filled eyes loom in darkness
Never leaving an’ always watching
Mocking the stupidity of our race
Laughing at the attempts to comprehend the world
His laughter echoes against the barren walls
Trapped in his world we live oblivious to him
The puppeteer of our show shares all we know
Pulling our strings, slipping only as he wants
We know what we know because he allows it
We understand very little because he made us naïve
His dark nature keeps what we want at bay
Our actions are a comedy for him to watch
A slippery snake- slithering just out of reach
Finding sneaky ways to get beyond
Making his way around without knowledge
Here he changes our life- hidden.
His function surprising to the few who suspect the truth
Seeing him hide, where the sun won’t shine, bring fear an’ fire to the soul
