It was everywhere. There was no place to avert one’s eyes. No refuge from the emotional onslaught of simply viewing the scene. Maimed bodies were strewn everywhere, laying to the side of the street, hanging from sides of ledges, and half buried beneath rubble. Blood formed great crimson pools across the plazas. Groans and screams of dying life pierced the air. Death saturated everything. Fire burned violently, almost as if it were alive. Smoke choked out the sun in the sky, making everything a dismal red tone set by the fires. A large building began to crumble into rubble to the right. To the left a group of small humanoid patchwork creatures tore a man apart as he screamed for help. It all occurred in a circle around her, as if the chaos chose to ignore her, exempting her from its deathly clutches. She wanted to cry, to scream for it to stop. But she was merely watching, through the eyes of another who chose to simply laugh hysterically. Turning away was not within her power. Movement was the right of someone else right now, she did not wield control of this body. Suddenly there was a shock the body which held her captive. A young girl, maybe twelve, clung to her leg pleading for mercy. If only she could be afforded mercy from this scene, she’d have gladly shared refuge with the young one. A chuckle escaped her lips involuntarily, or rather the lips of this autopilot body. A hand went out and caressed the cheek of the sobbing girl. She spoke between convulsing sobs. “Lilith…” A weak, pleading voice spoke. “Please Lilith, I played with you. I made jokes for you. I did everything they told me, I was your friend! Please!” The eyes of the young girl glistened with tears, portraying sincere confusion and sorrow. She continued pleading, as a monstrous black silhouette appeared behind her. Slowly the dark shape gained color and distinct form, becoming a clear creature, humanoid in shape yet horribly, unnaturally obese. A tall dome of fat turned from one side to the other from between two beastly shoulders, each covered by long needle-like spikes. The pitiful girl noticed the great shadow now over her and turned to face it. She looked at its morbid obesity, and suddenly the fat along the chest lifted to reveal a single giant eye which looked straight back at her. The creature’s belly opened up wide. A great maw filled with rows upon rows of teeth awaited inside the parting rolls of fat. The girl screamed, turning back to her to further plead. “Lilith! Her Divine, Please don’t!” The girl screamed in utter fear. The girl looked into her eyes, and her face wrinkled with fear as she began to cry even harder. Without warning the great, clawed arm of the creature impaled her small body & lifted it into the air. The girl writhed & screamed in pain, although her screams were muffled by blood spewing forth from her own mouth. The creature dropped the young body into its wide mouth & began to chew upon it. A short, piercing scream was followed by loud, sickening crunch. The creature chewed wildly, opening its mouth wide and displaying the mangled body before its powerful jaws crunched down again. It absently turned, walking off in search of another victim. The sound of the body being worked over by those dagger-like teeth just moment before echoed through her head repeatedly. It made her heart wrench…she felt nauseous, and wanted desperately to scream. Instead, convulsing laughter came out, delighted and demented. Danni shot up and the urgent scream let itself loose. Morning light poured in from between white blinds, and the soft whirring of a ceiling fan blew a faint breeze down upon her. She was in her bed, back in her familiar room. That horrible monster, that poor girl she wanted nothing more than to grant the mercy she begged for…the image was vivid. Her small pleading voice repeated in her head, asking to be spared. The sheets were soaked with thick sweat, but Danni’s skin was cold. She shivered under her thick comforter, though she should have been hot. Quick, deep breaths kept priority for her as she tried to allow her heart to slow down once more. Danni let herself fall back into her pillow, wiping tears from her face. These nightmares had been occurring since she was thirteen, but lately they were becoming more and more intense, and much more frequent. It scared her…she had no idea where these things came from. She certainly didn’t think of things like that when she was awake. Pushing it aside in order to have a normal day had become routine though. She stayed laying in bed for some time, letting the shivers subside and cleared her mind as best she could. The ceiling could have burst into flames from the intense stare Danni directed at it. Almost three weeks without those nightmares, then this. She imagined the images playing across the ceiling like a screen in fast motion. The lone girl falling at her legs, the monstrous beast materializing from the air behind her, and finally her gruesome death within the chamber of teeth within it’s belly. Danni winced at the recollection of the hideous crunching noise. A distraction was needed, she’d never get up and have a normal day if she kept thinking of her dark dream. A shower sounded like a nice distraction. The mattress made a low groan as she shifted her weight and placed her feet onto the soft floor. The bathroom was only a few steps away. Danni scuffled in lazily, running a hand through her hair. She turned and looked into the reflective surface of the mirror at her hair. She ran a hand through it once more, studying its texture and shine. It felt soggy and unkempt. Its dark, violet strands were soaked in sweat. It looked black, which Danni disliked. Although it was dark, nearly black, it had a unique violet sheen to it. It was so matted with sweat now though it just look like normal black hair. Danni stepped into the shower, sliding the glass divider shut. She immediately went to work lathering shampoo into her long hair. Her circular massaging motions did nothing to calm her though. Over and over the feasting creature appeared in her mind. Something about it bothered her beyond what she saw in the dream. Something she couldn’t quite grasp, something more. Her foot found a small mound of bath salt she had used the night before, which had obviously not dissolved as it should have. Without thinking she let the weight of her foot press down onto it, making a quiet, grinding, crunching sound. The sound reminded her of that which the creature made with each grind of its teeth within its stomach. One again she felt nauseous, throwing the sliding glass shower door back on its track with her right hand over her mouth. Downstairs Danni made her way across the kitchen, acting normal as always, so her mother wouldn’t worry. Her mother’s intuition was sharp though, and she had already heard not only the scream earlier, but the vomiting just minutes before Danni came down. Her mother stood at the counter, cutting up a tomato for a salad in front of her. Danni could already feel her eyes glancing up at her as she opened the fridge.. “Daniel…I heard you scream this morning.” The slicing noise continued uninterrupted behind Danni. “Are you alright? You’re not having those dreams again, are you Daniel?” She looked over her shoulder. Her mother looked concerned. Too concerned, as she usually was when the nightmares were brought up. She had already sent Danni to intensive therapy when she was younger. That was the entire reason she had learned to hide signs of them from her mother. “No mom, I just had really bad bed head when I woke up. It was pretty scary, you would have screamed too.” Danni grabbed a bagel from the fridge and stuck it in the toaster. “I’m not insane, mom. Please stop trying to make me out to be.” She began to search for the cream cheese. Danni’s mom looked at her with an irritated look in her eyes. “Daniel that’s not what I’m saying. You know how bad those dreams were…they can’t possibly reflect the mind of a stable person.” Her mother had stopped slicing the tomato. “I’m not saying you’re insane, but depression is common in teenagers these days. Something like that, you know. Wouldn’t you want something like that fixed?” Danni grabbed her bagels as they popped up from the toaster. The cream cheese melted nicely onto them. Cream cheese bagels were a favorite of Danni’s…she took her first bite and almost forgot about her nightmare. Her mother however was intent on keeping it fresh in her mind. “Seriously Daniel, did you have another one of those horrible dreams? This isn’t something to kid about. I can call Dr. Harris up right now if you want me to.” This subject was not exactly the most attractive to Danni at the moment…she picked up her bagels in a napkin and walked off with them back to her room, ignoring her mom. Today was supposed to be a good day, she didn’t want it ruined so early on by something like that. Danni closed her door behind her & finished her bagels. Glancing at her computer, she saw it was just about noon. She had made plans earlier in the week to meet up with a friend at the park around twelve thirty. From there they were going shopping at the nearby shopping center. Danni walked back in the bathroom for one last hair check before she left. She looked into the mirror and moved a hand up to fix a stray hair. Everything froze in place for a moment…Her mind flashed back to the dream again. She was watching from within that other person again, in front of the giant monster looking at it’s single eye as it hoisted the young girl off the ground. There in the eye she saw the reflection of the person who’s eyes she had seen through…It was another young girl, barely older than the one being eaten… She saw a glimpse of a young girl, possibly thirteen with long, light purple hair and deep pink eyes. Red tattoo-like lines made patterns against her light alabaster skin. Blood stained everything, yet somehow not a drop had touched her skin. There was an intense look in the girl’s eyes. Arrogance and satisfaction glimmered within them. The girl’s reaction to everything was possibly even more chilling than the beast… Danni snapped back to reality. She was looking at herself in the mirror again. Her hand still hovered in place, halfway to her hair. The nightmares Danni had always stayed vivid long after she had them, but never had one been so vivid she could recall something she hadn’t even noticed when she was having the nightmare. Again she mentally shoved the thoughts to the side and continued getting ready. Ignoring the dreams had never been a problem before, and it wasn’t going to be one now. The bedroom door clicked shut behind Danni. She took quick steps down the stairs and headed for the front door without a word. Her mother’s voice stopped her just as she reached for the door. “Daniel, don’t you hear the thunder? It’s storming out. Pretty badly too. I’m beginning to wonder if you’re all there today. I think you should stay in until the sky clears up some Daniel…” Danni turned around to face her mother. She was clearly irritated. “Mom…I haven’t been scared of thunder since I was five. How many times do I need to tell you before you get it. I’ve driven in the rain before, while it was thundering. Its not an issue.” “Now Daniel I know you’re not scared of thunder anymore, its just that-“ “Mom! I’ll be fine, just like I always am. Loosen up for once, stop being so uptight. We have thunderstorms all the time, and nothing ever happens other than a bunch of noise and water. I’ll be back later.” Danni turned and opened the door. “Daniel, don’t you dare speak to me like that. All I have to do is take your keys and there won’t be a car for you to drive, sun or not!” Her mother rose her voice, which cracked a little from anger. “Hah. I’ll worry about it when you actually do it.” Danni spat back, her voice full of spite. The door slammed behind her. The rain was a lot heavier than she thought. But she certainly wasn’t going back in and proving her mother right. The rain pounded down on her hood along her way across the cobblestone walkway to the street. She swung the little white gate open, probably with a lot more force than necessary. Danni pulled the keys from her pockets, and fumbled through them. The rain made her hasty, and a bit clumsy for it too. The key slid into the lock on the car door and turned the mechanism inside with a satisfying click. It was a modest first car…an old navy blue Honda Civic. Danni lowered herself inside and inserted the key into the ignition. A quick turn of the key brought the engine to life, rolling away as she put the car into gear. Overhead the sky was a strange green tone…the clouds were thick, yet seemed to provide the low eerie green light on their own. Lightning streaked the horizon in the distance. If one had taken a picture of the scene, it would have appeared almost as if it were from another world. But this didn’t seem to phase Danni…in fact she barely seemed to notice the sky at all. The old Civic pulled into the park’s parking lot. Anytime now Nessa should show up, she lived right across the street. She’d come up to the car and get in as always and the two would gossip on their way to the shopping center. Danni looked forward to it…she needed a good distraction today. Nessa was always good for keeping her laughing. She looked down at the clock in her dashboard…Nessa was late. Pretty late, actually. Danni decided to call. She picked up quickly, as usual. “Hey Danni, sorry I’m not there…I’m running a little late, I wanted to trim my hair a little and got kind of carried away…But it won’t take me long to get ready, promise! I’ll be there in about fifteen, is that ok?” Her voice trailed off inquisitively. Danni laughed at her and told her it was okay, she had time. She closed her clamshell phone, disconnecting the line. Her hand grabbed the key & turned car off. Droplets of rain hit the roof of the car, producing a soothing sound. It had been drowned out before by the noise of the engine and radio, but now it relaxed Danni. She laid back against the seat, leaning it back a few notches. The park was a bleary image now, obscured by the sheet of water flowing down the façade of her windshield. Danni shifted her weight a bit and folded her hands across her abdomen. Her eyelids shut, lulled by the serene ambience. A loud noise nearby jolted her back to reality. She opened her eyes and looked around for the source. She wasn’t even sure what the sound was really, but it was loud enough to grab her attention over the thunder and rain. Something in the rearview mirror caught Danni’s eye. She quickly turned toward the mirror to get a better look, but whatever it was had moved. From what she caught out the corner of her eye it was vaguely human shaped, but smaller. It may have been a bit larger than a medium size dog. It was a vague image though, she wasn’t really sure what it was she had seen. It did put her a little on edge, seeing something appear then vanish in her mirror like that. Just then the car rocked sharply on its suspension. A loud pop noise was heard from the roof of her car, like something had jumped off of it into the trees. “What in the hell…?” Danni craned her neck over the steering wheel to better look out the windshield. She followed a large shadowy figure jump from tree to tree away from her car. It seemed to be heading towards the public restrooms closer to the center of the park. The figure descended in the distance by the building and scurried inside. “What was that? Maybe an animal from the zoo got loose this morning...” Danni commented to herself. “It could get hurt out here. I wonder how it got out.” Danni thought for a moment. It was probably pretty well adjusted to people by now, she could keep it safe and in one place. She could call the zoo to come pick it up while she kept it company. Maybe they would give her a reward. Gas money was always a pain, a reward could help alleviate that for a bit. The car door opened with a click. Danni stuck her head out having forgotten about the rain. She quickly withdrew back into the car long enough to put her hood back up, then stepped back out & shut the car door back with another loud click. The rain was light now, not nearly as heavy as it was on the drive to the park. The sky, somehow, was darker now. It appeared almost as if it were night time, lamps had even kicked on throughout the park. Danni shielded her eyes and looked to the sky. She finally noticed the strange hue of the clouds today. She cocked her head slightly without thinking. The sky had never been such a strange color before, not as long as she could remember anyway. Everything felt so eerie today. With an uneasy mind she looked toward the public restroom again and made her way toward it. The concrete path was broken up by puddles that had built up over the course of the storm. Danni’s long, baggy pants were starting to get heavy as they soaked up the puddle water. They were turning dark brown at the ends, instead of their normal light khaki. “Dammit, this jacket wasn’t meant for rain.” Danni commented to herself as she reached the overhang by the bathroom doors. She felt the fur lining her hood, which had become thick and heavy from the rain. “Dammit! Its ruined! I didn’t think I’d be out in the rain this much. I’ll just have to buy a new one when I go shopping with Nessa.” Danni sighed to herself. She didn’t have money to just get another jacket, now that she thought about it. But that wasn’t the issue right now. “Where’s that damn monkey,” She turned to the doorframe into the bathroom and peered in. The lights were busted inside, they only flickered on every few seconds. “Come on little guy, don’t be afraid. I’m a friend.” There was no response, nor did anything come to her. She listened quietly. There was a low sound towards the end of the room, in the last stall. It was the sound of a tongue at work, either grooming or maybe drinking from a toilet. She walked closer, & felt something wet on the floor, probably from a busted toilet. She was careful not to slip in it. She looked into the stall, but it was too dark to make out what was in it. She heard the quiet noise much clearer now that she was closer. She heard something else now though, like something being torn. And there was a smell in the air, something familiar. It made her uncomfortable. Suddenly it struck her what the smell was, she smelled blood. And it was very strong. The lights flickered on for a moment, giving Danni a good look at what was in the stall. It was one of those creatures from her nightmare this morning, one of the tiny humanoid ones. Its skin was a patchwork of mismatched, leathered pieces of skin, sewn together tightly. Long claws extended from its hands in place of fingers, which it was using to sever a limb from a bloody pulp of a human. Long rusted needles protruded a foot from its back, along with its spine. A single glowing red orb shone in a deep eye socket, focusing on the corpse before it. It was exposed by a loose seam in the stitching of the skin. Its mouth was sewn shut as well, but the stitches were loose and allowed the mouth to open wide. A long blue tongue escaped from between the stitches, lapping up blood enthusiastically. Another limb was ripped off the body, and the creature immediately went to lap up the freshly flowing blood. Danni stumbled backwards in shock, mute with fear. Her foot hit something on the floor as she stumbled backwards making a noise as it slid across the floor. A cell phone, with 911 glowing on the screen laid twirling on the floor from its movement, splattered in a fine spray of blood. The noise caught the attention of the feasting creature, its single exposed eye stared at Danni. It slowly dismounted it’s feast and crawled toward Danni like a cat stalking its prey. Survival kicked in at once, and without so much as a scream Danni made a sudden break from the bathroom. She could barely breath, the shock had closed her windpipe partially. The patchwork monster followed her, bursting from the public restroom on all fours, despite its humanoid frame. She was seeing tunnel vision, her heart raced faster than ever before. “Oh God, fuck, fuck!” She cursed under her breath, though it helped nothing. The tunnel vision made it difficult for her to spot her car, and panic sunk in more than before. Danni tripped over a raised concrete path, falling flat on her face on the other side. She scrambled to get herself back up, but her hands slipped out from under her in the mud. Turning frantically to see how close the creature was, she felt her heart sink. Standing over her on its legs like a person, it stared down at her with its gleaming red eye. It showed no sign of exhaustion, no sign of having gave chase after her. Danni shook with fear. Tears began to escape the corners of her eyes while it stood over her, immobile like a statue. It lowered itself down on its haunches slowly, keeping its intense gaze fixated on her. Danni put her arm up almost instinctively, like a useless shield. Her eyes shut tightly for fear of what was likely to happen. She felt its claw against her neck, just below her chin. It slid the claw along its length across her neck. Danni breathed as deeply she could, her air intake was dangerously low due to her difficult breathing. A loud shot rang through the air and she felt the claw leave her throat. She opened her eyes, watching the creature shriek in pain, slowly stumbling backwards. Then another shot, and another. Dark purple liquid shot out like a fine mist from the back of the creature’s head and chest, and its body fell limp to the ground. It didn’t move anymore, nor shriek. The body laid in the wet grass, soaking in the rain. “Are you…Are you alright, young lady?” Danni’s heart was still racing. She looked up, seeing a police officer just as shaken as herself. “There was a man,” He began to explain. “He reported a strange creature cornering him in the public facilities here. He uh, sounded pretty shaken…” The policeman paused a moment. Danni noticed the police car out by hers, emergency lights on & door still open. “I…uh…Do you know what happened to the man who called by any chance? Is he still around here?” Danni just looked at him, still trying to catch her breath now that her throat opened back up. She tried to speak, but her voice wouldn’t come out. Instead the officer continued. “Jesus, was that what he was talking about?” He asked rhetorically, not needing an answer from the shaken girl. He walked closer, getting a better look at the corpse. “What in God’s name is it?” Finally she found her voice. Sobs burst forth as she finally spoke up. Her voice was panicked and rambling. “It was in there, someone was in the stall with it, but the body was all torn up, I don’t know if it was a woman or a man! I thought that thing was, I mean I just…” Danni broke down into tears, harder than before. She’d never been so terrified in her life. Tears flowed from her rusty brown eyes, her whole body was convulsing with her sobs. “I almost died; It nearly killed me too, just like him! Oh God…” Danni pulled her legs to her chest & cried some more. The officer was in disbelief. He was visibly shaken. “Look at the claws on this little bastard…Where the hell did it even come from?” He turned to the sobbing teenager. “I need to go check the scene, I’ll be back, alright?” He started to walk slowly, cautiously, to the building a few hundred feet away. He suddenly stopped and turned back again to Danni. “Oh, I’m sorry ma’am. I’m Officer Robert Ford.” He tossed her his handgun. “No telling if there’s another one of those things around. You need it more than I do, I still have my tazer. I have mace too, if I need it. Now I’ll be back in a minute, no worries.” Danni looked blankly at the gun in front of her in the wet grass, her tears were subsiding. She looked up and watched Officer Ford approach the small building. Closer and closer to that stall, and the battered body stowed away inside. Her weakened mind focused on the building now, after Officer Ford had entered. She’d never be able to look at that building the same again, much less go in it. Not that public bathrooms were high on her list of hang out spots anyway. Never had she seen anything so utterly grotesque as the inside of that stall. Not in movies, videogames, or even in the most graphic books. The only thing that rivaled this was her nightmare from the morning. But this was real. She smelt the blood in the air. She damn near slipped in the blood pooled at her feet inside. Officer Ford walked back outside. He was obviously just as disgusted as Danni had been. He took a moment to collect himself, looking a bit nauseous from the sight. He looked up and forced a smile at Danni, presumably to comfort her she guessed. She smiled back weakly. Her smile was short lived, sliding off her face fairly quickly. There, coming up from behind the restroom building, came the other monster from her nightmare. She now had a clear reference to measure its immense height. Its head, with its eyes sewn shut & its wide, toothy smile, reached above the building’s roof a foot or so. Its rolls of fat were obscured in the darkness of the overcast sky. The rain began to pour down hard once more, bouncing hard off of it’s enormous body. It was behind Officer Ford, who was walking toward Danni with a faint reassuring smile on his face. He was clueless to the hulking beast following behind him, slowly catching up with its slow but large strides. The thick rolling breast fat was lifted like an eyelid, revealing that cyclopean eye in the center of its chest. Just like in the nightmare from the morning, the eye spotted Officer Ford and locked onto him. The heavy fat around the stomach split open horizontally, revealing the great toothy mouth she remembered all too well. Danni tried to scream for him to run but her body would not respond. She only mouthed the words, nothing but dry air escaped her lips. She tried to warn him as best she could, she wanted to so badly. She couldn’t watch a repeat of her dream in real life. Officer Ford remained unaware of his pursuer. The giant grew closer every moment with its great strides. The closer it got to him, the wider the corners of its huge mouth pulled into a sickening smile, like a toddler chasing after a lollipop. Danni found her voice once more, yelling after the hapless policeman. “Behind you, run!” Her voice was loud and shrill. Robert Ford, caught off guard, stopped rather than running, and fumbled for his tazer. He quickly turned, ready to shock the life out of another of the patchwork demons. Instead he was met with a giant, towering at least thirteen feet high. He dropped the tazer hopelessly to the ground just as the beast swiped its massive claws clean through Officer Ford. His torso flew freely through the air, trailing a spray of red blood and landing with a thump about ten feet away. With its other clawed arm it impaled the legs of the officer, which had fallen limply to the ground. Danni screamed as the monster dropped the legs into its mouth. It walked heavily to the other half of Officer Ford, still barely alive. “Shit…Oh shit!” Danni spoke to herself in awe and fear. Her body jerked itself up and looked for the old blue civic. She turned to run to it, stopping herself to turn and grab the gun first. She sprinted back to her car, in fear of her life. Just as in the nightmare, she heard the loud, stomach sickening crunching of bones behind her. She ran faster, tripping over her own flailing feet, but she didn’t dare fall again. All she could hear was her own heartbeat and breath. She made it to the car and began sorting through her keys with shaking hands. Finally she found the key she was looking for, and unlocked the door. She jumped in the car and cranked it, throwing it into reverse. The noise of the car starting caught the attention of the giant. She could barely see it through the dense rain anymore, but she could see it turn to face her car. Danni slammed on the gas, backing the car out and spinning it around with intense force. Throwing the shift into drive, she slammed on the gas once more and sped off. Driving helped calm her down a bit, especially putting that whole park behind her. Pulling up at a red light, she sank into her seat. She let out a deep sigh and finally wiped the tears from her face. She checked the mirror, making sure that thing wasn’t tailing her. A sudden noise in the car caught Danni off guard. Danni sighed with relief, realizing it was only her cell phone she had left sitting in the passenger seat. She picked it up, checking the screen. It was Nessa. “Holy shit,” Danni flipped the phone open and started yelling frantically. “Nessa, don’t leave your house! Stay inside, there are these things in the park, I don’t know what they are but they just killed two people! Please tell me you haven’t already left!” Nessa sounded frightened by what Danni said, but a little skeptical as well. “Danni, what are you talking about? Don’t mess with me, I’m already at the park. Where are you, I don’t see your car. I’m getting soaked Danni…” Her voice was whiney about being wet. “Listen to me Nessa, this isn’t a joke, go back to your house and stay there! I’m driving back to my house right now, I’ve never been this scared in my life. Go inside!” Nessa still sounded a little scared, but now she sounded more annoyed than anything else. “Are you kidding me? You said we were going shopping, we haven’t been able to in like a month! You can’t seriously be cancelling.” “Listen to me! This is not a game, shopping isn’t important right now, just go back inside! This thing in the park just killed a police officer! It fucking cut him in half! Just listen to me!” Danni hadn’t even notice the light having turned green, and back red again while she was talking. Luckily there wasn’t anyone else on the road. She took a moment to calm her voice. “Please Nessa, just listen to me.” There was a pause on Nessa’s end, then a disappointed sigh. “Fine. Jeeze its raining hard…I think I’m gonna go keep dry by the bathrooms til the rain lightens up some, its closer than my house right now anyway.” The tone in Nessa's voice made it clear she didn't believe her. Danni nearly choked. “No! Don’t go in the bathrooms, that’s where it happened!” Nessa didn’t answer. The line suddenly got fuzzy. “Nessa? Nessa! Do you hear me, don’t go near-“ The fuzz cleared abruptly. The rain in the background wasn’t there anymore on Nessa’s end of the phone. “…Hello?” She searched for a confirmation the signal hadn’t died. A soft, lulling voice cut in over the line. It was a man’s voice. “Your friend will be fine. Hyperphagia has already returned to us.” Danni listened to the line for a moment, though no one spoke. A honk from behind suddenly got her attention again, and she spotted the green light. She hit the gas and sped the car up to the speed limit. “Who is this?” A gentle laughter came over the man on the other side. “Don’t worry about that yet. I’m just excited we found you again. We will meet soon enough. Oh, I’m so excited to finally see you. Everyone is, you know. It has been a very, very long time. Unfortunately, I will be the only one to greet you, except for maybe the occasional broodling. Although, the Depression aren’t too happy with you right now. You got one of their pack killed. They’re very…depressed. Hahaha.” The man seemed quite amused by himself. Danni was speechless. She had no idea what this guy was talking about. “Look, I don’t know what’s happening around here, but if you have an idea, please by all means, feel free to share! This is scaring the hell out of me.” “Afraid of judgement? But how can the judge, be afraid of judgement? It just does not make sense.” Again with the soft, gentle laughter. “As I said before dear Daniel, don’t worry yourself about these things just yet. Anyway, I look forward to our first meeting eagerly. I will see you soon.” And with that, the voice laughed quietly to himself again, as if he were amused by Danni now. The line went dead.
