A Connellsville man has died of injuries suffered Wednesday morning in a two-vehicle crash on Toll Route 43 in North Union, Fayette County.
Joshua B.
Basinger, 20, died Wednesday night in Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, W. Va.
He was a passenger in a car driven by Matthew Morse, 19, of Connellsville.
State police said Morse's vehicle collided with an eastbound sport utility vehicle driven by Paul Kania, 42, of Smock. The wreck occurred as Kania pulled onto the highway from a southbound stop sign at Old Pittsburgh Road while Morse was westbound on North Gate Highway, according to police.
Morse's condition was upgraded from critical to stable Thursday by physicians in Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh. Another of Morse's passengers, Brandon Bargiband, 14, of Scottdale is in critical condition in Ruby Memorial Hospital.
Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
