MUCH TO KNOW and all is important Nemesis ONLY this Friday will have to start at 9:30 instead of nine, because of troubles with Ben Kenny of Incubus needing to switch venues in such short notice. No big deal, hopefully there will be even more interesting people willing to come after the show is over ALSO there is a CAR POOL started up in the Robinson area with at the very very least one guaranteed ride down to Nemesis this Friday as of now. This will help people who have no car, people who don't have enough for the bus rides, or people just trying to save on gas! This was started by one of the people who will be working at the vampirefreaks.com both we have; UNIBOB Though his profile is under construction right now just message Dj PhOeniXXX and he will be able to assist with the location, directions, etc. And yes I said VAMPIREFREAKS.COM BOOTH! Vf merchandise will be given away and raffled during the night courtesy of Jet (VF Owner), you gotta love vampirefreaks! Perhaps most importantly This Friday, the 7th, will be $7 for everyone. However, starting NEXT week, the 14th, the price will be $7 if you bring a small flier with you, or $10 without. You can print fliers off our myspace, or find them at various locations around Pittsburgh, such as the South Side and Oakland. If you do not have a printer, simply go to Office Depot, or the like, and spend 5 cents per to print 1 B&W sheet, where you can fit dozens of fliers on! OR RIGHT DOWN THE STREET is a store called Eides Entertainment A store at 1121 Penn Ave. That will ALWAYS have flyers there and on Fridays is open from 9:30 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. right before Nemesis starts! (awesome) Dj Hiem is the music buyer for that store and has made Eides Entertainment home to the BIGGEST industrial music and music t-shirt section in all of PITTSBURGH! Here is the schedule for the month of November: 11/7 - Nemesis Premiere at Club Zoo! Resident Djs, Dj Ph0eniXXX and Dj Eclipse, with auxiliary Dj, Dj Sik Shooter (1st hour) 11/14 - Nemesis at Club Zoo with Resident Djs, Dj Hiem and Dj Reich, with auxiliary Dj, Dj Reiver (1st hour) 11/21 - Nemesis at Club Zoo with Resident Djs, Dj Ph0eniXXX and Dj Eclipse, with auxiliary Dj, Dj Sik Shooter (1st hour) 11/28 - Nemesis at Club Zoo with Resident Djs, Dj Hiem and Dj Reich, with auxiliary Dj, Dj Reiver (1st hour) If you have a myspace then please add this event NEMESIS and/or if you have a vampirefreaks.com profile add this event NEMESIS if you can't make it, because you're from out of town then you can put in your web browser: http:// crematory. hopto. org and listen to it as it happens live and we're working on a video feed!!!! below are pictures of past events at our new venue and a link to directions to Nemesis from the longest running alternative dance night in Pittsburgh, Ceremony. (held every Saturday @ Pegasus)
If you don't know where Ceremony is, then mapquest your address to 1630 Smallman St. 15222 as seen in the flyer

Ceremony is coming to and end after 12 years of greatness

It is official.
On behalf of The Night Shift it is with great sadness that I have to officially announce Pittsburgh's longest running dark dance night, Ceremony, is being shut down. The last night will be Saturday November 29th.
The Pegasus Lounge has suffered a significant profit loss on Saturdays in the past year partially due to declining attendance at Ceremony. This is the primary reason for the management ending the night.
The Night Shift is grateful for all of the support by Ceremony's loyal patrons over the course of the past twelve years, especially during the past two since the night moved from The Upstage to The Pegasus Lounge. Unfortunately, the support was just not enough to sustain the night. It has been decided to lay Ceremony to rest and not seek another venue at this time.
However, there are several other options and opportunities for you to enjoy dark alternative music in a club setting. Nemesis: an all ages dance night at Club Zoo in the Strip District will launch this Friday 11/7 and will continue every Friday after that! Upstage Nation: a free, 21+ dance night every Sunday at The Smiling Moose in the Southside! In addition, Distortion Productions will continue to provide the same quality goth / industrial shows at Pegasus and other local venues for the foreseeable future.
Don't forget, this month DP is bringing in these great shows at Pegasus... THIS SATURDAY 11/8 – 8PM DJ Acucrack Acumen Nation Cyanotic Plus Special Guest: Sachem & Fetish Performance by Cleveland's Acid Rain $12 adv / $15 door (Dj TFS) NEXT SATURDAY 11/15 – 8PM The Cruxshadows The Azoic iScintilla $15 adv / $20 door (Dj PhOeniXXX) TUESDAY 11/18 – 8PM Distortion Production's 50th Show! Nachtmahr SAM AlterDerRuin $12 adv / $15 door As always, advance tickets and more information can be found at Eide's Entertainment, Slacker, Dave's Music Mine and at Pegasus.
Thank you to all who have supported and continue to support the local dark alternative music scene. As you know, without enough support, continually providing dark alternative entertainment is just not possible. Please do your best to support the scene as it continues to evolve.
Details regarding the final night at Ceremony will be announced soon. I can tell you that the event will be free; as in, no cover will be charged that night.

Imperative Reaction+Aesthetic Perfection+[SITD]

This is a blog for a show that if you missed, I truly with all my heart feel bad for you. Sadly I missed almost all of loading the bands in, since I had to work until 3, but it's nice not having to carry an insane amount of equipment in the afternoon for one of our shows for a change. So let's start from when we opened doors at 8:00! At 7:55 when I went to let some staff in I took a quick look at the crowd and there seemed to be about 30-40 people in line, but that was just a brief glimpse of course. Anyways, the doors opened at 8 and the crowd that came early was treated to the sounds of the auxilary dj from Nemesis, Dj Reiver! Spinning all the good industrial you could ask for and stating the night off right XD The opening act was local EBM act Rein[forced]. With the lead singer still feeling the affects of his recent surgery he would say, "the show must go on" before he would walk on stage to perform. Dressed in scrubs to pursue a medical them to represent his current illness the show began. It was clear his multiple surgeries had taken a tole on his body, but it certainly didn't affect his performance. Jim (vox) and Turner (keys) played crowd favorites of theirs both old and new, but what really grabbed the crowds attention (as if everyone who was there wasn't already on the concert floor) was their new material to be released on their upcoming album "X Amount of Stab Wounds in the Back". Especially the track named "Malignancy" which was written about the trouble the singer as recently gone through with his sickness. Dj Reiver came back on and the people danced and very impatiently awaited for Aesthetic Perfection to come on. If I didn't know any better i'd say everyone came that night to see them instead of Imperative. Any doubt that Distortion Productions doesn't know how to throw a show must have been shot to shit this night. Their performance was powerful, the lights were more than stunning, and the crowd reaction made this a performance not to be forgot for a very long time. After playing tracks from their hard-hitting harsh EBM album, "A Violent Emotion" and some off their first album for about 45 minutes the crowd wasn't ready to give them up. The crowd screamed "One more song!" so loud for so long that Aesthetic was practically forced to get back on stage. They were ecstatic that they got an encore and Danial Graves (vox) said that it was the first they had all tour. Again the bands break occured and drinks were bought and dance ensued to the music of Reiver. [SITD] was getting ready to perform and Danial Graves came over to the bar and bullshitted with us, (pic in my Ceremony pics folder). [SITD] came on and delivered a very interactive performance as the singer went in and out of the crowd. I only heard half the set as I was making a call and running around, but everything I seen was great. Next up was Imperative Reaction. Of course evryone swarmed to the floor. With lights enough to blind god and a flow of excitement I think atleast half of attendance got dancing to their set right away Imperative of course starting this tour to promote their upcoming album "Minus All" which promises to be just as amazing as their last album "As We Fall" if not more-so. The night ended and Nemesis dj, Dj Reiver tookthe deck again to lead th night out again, but yours truly didn't care to help any of the bands pack up. Apparently one or two of one of the band members of one of the bands decided to completely trash the venue's kitchen. But of course they were man enough to trash the kitchen, but not man enough to come out and say they were the one who did it. Other than the unproffessionalism of one or two peoples childish antics the night turned out to be a success and everyone had an awesome time. I have to run, but the next blog will be about Halloweenish 2008 @ the Upsatge Nation! And man, was that a party P.S. Don't forget!!! Nemesis will kick off at it's new venue in the Strip District at Club ZOO on November 7th!!!!Details in the flyer below
